Yeah I know they talked about crafting as away around it and all that, but the QnA session made it seem like it would still be light armor and just be visually heavy armor. Doesn't matter to much either way just wanna know what it looked like. Sadly wont find out in his rogue videos either. But srsly though where is that skill tree video... that shoulda been like the first thing posted, amirite?

I see what you mean about that classes video preview thing now. That was the Inquisitors Double Daggers tree being shown and it looked totally different to the one in the OP. Seemed like there were a lot more skills in it too.

There aren't though, it's 5 active, 4 passive. It's just setup in a less linear manner so it visually looks more busy which is tricking everyone ![]()

The trees really are the same size as before, just busier and crazier (and MAYBE more passives than before?) But honestly, I like the design visually - I like to FEEL like there are lots of options and choices.
And soon we'll see more of them! Muahahahahaha!

Posted by @Hrungr originally here: Dragon Age: Inquisition - Rogue Gameplay Video
Here they are:

Obsessed about this new layout. ![]()
Focus: Seems like the Inquisitor already has Mark of the Rift (icon added 4 brackets by the way, my crazy theories making sense? xD) So. I can't help but wonder what became of that Focus meter. That's one of the major things like, still missing in the picture. Maybe a Focus ability needs to be mapped for the bar to show up (it isn't here, obviously)..? Meh. I really dunno...

Thanks Quinn. I will do an OP update when I have gotten through all of these videos.
I have been thinking about rearranging the OP to have the more recently shown trees at the top but it would involve effort. ![]()
Would anyone find that more helpful?

Nice Icy, watched the video and the bar seems to be gone, sort of. It's been re-designed. Before it was a bunch of marked lines with a fill bar right? Yellowy bar whatever. If you watch the video the Inquisitor is actually building up focus, but instead of being lines with a bar its diamonds popping up as it builds up. Question I have now after seeing that is... how much does an ability take? Do you have to get all the diamonds? Does it take up a snigle diamond? 5 diamonds? Or pings, probably end up calling em pings. Whatever, it's definitely the focus being built up, sadly when he selects the skill in the hotkey thing it fails to mention any statistical information. Unless I missed something...
-edit-
Oh and happy to see the brackets are still there, and that is definitely how they're showing the difference in how a skill works. Little boarder icons instead of skill icon shape as a whole.
@Mikey: would probably be for the best to update with newer stuff, older stuff is kinda confusing when compared to newer footage. Well, can be confusing to a lot of new comers. I would definitely wait for that one guys class showcase though, hopefully he shows all 4 trees on each class. Even if we don't get to many skill descriptions out of it we'll see skill tree layouts if nothing else (I hope).

So this video shows all the rogue trees and the Double Daggers tree in depth.
At 8:07
Just doing the screenshots now, there are quite a lot to do so it will take a while for me to get em up.

I think it's notable in this video (at 8:25 or so while leveling up), that the trees appear to have differing shapes form each other (which is SWEET).
Screenshots for double daggers are above, but Archery is a Diamond shape with less access to actives early on. Sabotage is sort of a weird two-pathed start that webs together, and Subterfuge is similar.
Also, ability counts:
Double Daggers: 5 active, 4 passive - all actives have 1 upgrade. Total of 14 points in the entire tree.
Archery: 4 active, 4 passive - all actives have 1 upgrade: Total of 12 points in the entire tree.
Sabotage: 5 active, 4 passive - all actives have 1 upgrade: Total of 14 points
Subterfuge: 4 active, 4 passive - all actives have 1 upgrade. Total of 12 points in the entire tree.
So the trees are NOT equal to each other.
Veeerry interesting.
Edit: Something else as well.
When that rogue leveled up, he didn't increase any attributes. It looks like it might work only through abilities.

Up to you, Mikey. I feel like you’ve done a great job already, personally, I think something like you did there with new 2H would more than suffice. Maybe to separate old x new with like a long _____underline or something like that, visually organizing, could be interesting I guess, particularly for newcomers...

Such a good fix, but I am still super-greedy and self-centered and wish the person had gone down the non-DD trees thoroughly, too.
This video makes DD rogue seem a lot more fun than the one where the guy just stealthed, attacked once, and then did nothing until stealth's cooldown was over. Which I guess is unsurprising.

*watchs the 5/4 theory get shotgunned out of the air* Farewell dear theory, farewell! Heh, the bow line has 4/4, as does Subterfuge. Other 2 have 5/4. One thing I noticed though is 'each' skill had 1 upgrade, wonder if that holds true for all the rest. Either case that's 13/12/13/12 and NONE of them have the Focus bracket skills at all. Sooo... Yeeaaaah, Focus, no existeh on the skilleh trees. Guess we definitely unlock them via some other method.
Oh, also, there was no Inquisitor skill tab like we once saw that everyone assumed the mark was in.

K so I will add the four trees and continue work on all the other shots.

I think I will just move the OP to my first comment in this thread for anyone who wishes to view a history of the skill trees and leave the OP for the most recent layouts and info we have been shown.

I'm so confused right now.
Knockout Bomb was shown in green before so I thought it was a Sabotage skill until now. It's not in there! Could it be the far right active skill in the Subterfuge tree? Maybe they changed the symbol.
Also, I thought they would have changed the skill tree symbol for Sabotage by now to be something else, because it's the exact same symbol for "Spike Trap" which is a purple/blueish looking ability that Varric was shown using in the crafting customization video; I assumed that was one of the Artificer skills. Maybe they got rid of it completely?

When that rogue leveled up, he didn't increase any attributes. It looks like it might work only through abilities.
I really hope that doesn't mean that we only gain attribute bonuses through passives and equipment... I mean... that just doesn't sound right to me. So not only are we limited to 8 skills per combat, but we're going to have to go out of our way to pick specific abilities just so that we can boost the attributes we want to focus on? Either that, or hope that we find the right materials to get those attribute bonuses...? That just sounds far too rigid and cumbersome to deal with... I mean just look at these bonuses... + Cun and + Dex only. What if I want to increase my Will or Con? I have to wear special armor that boosts it? Hope I get lucky and there are some appropriate boosts in the other trees? I really don't like how any of that sounds...
I guess it must be the case though, since our ability to equip items seems to be tied to level rather than attributes...

Remember though, there were several skills that gave like +3 Dexterity upon unlock as well.

I'm not really that worried.
Lots of abilities (at least the passives) seem to have boosts attached. And I seriously doubt Bioware would design the game so that we're forced to take certain abilities to be effective in terms of stats. We also might receive flat bonuses every level (aka Mages get +2 Magic, +1 Willpower every level, and +1 Cunning every odd level or something like that).

I have to say these vids did make the 8 ability thing into more of a reality for me. Don't get me wrong, I am massively impressed by the vast majority of what they have shown but I am going to feel restricted in battle only having access to the 8. That will take some getting used to.

If that's what the game is balanced around, shouldn't it be fine?

I edited my post a bit... the bonuses listed here are very specific and will only allow us to develop in a particular way. Unless there is some variety in the other trees, I think that we'll wind up focusing on crafting to increase our health or stamina (in the case of rogues, for example... warrior trees probably boost Str and Con... Mages Mag and Will... etc...)... not being able to choose attributes when we level does not feel right.
If that's what the game is balanced around, shouldn't it be fine?
Maybe so... I just don't like how it sounds. Whatever happened to choosing our own builds? This seems too linear for my liking...

Yeah Cat Fancy but that's the same garbage Diablo 3 went with. No control over your attributes except with armor (and if true in DAI, passives). It just kinda kills part of character development and makes it so each piece of equipment is kinda samy. For instance you'll need Str and Vit on every piece of equipment if your a warrior. Personally I think attributes mostly via equipment is just bad. Also not a fan of forced attribute allocation. The reasons usually 'well most people tend to do this so we're making everyone do that'. Just kinda... It's like 90% of people statistically always go the good path, but that only means something if there is a bad path in the story.
In a game where choice and customization is everything, arbitrarily killing that in the attributes is gonna sting a little (or a lot, depending on how much you brood on it).
-edit-
@Tresca Mizzrym : Not that I know of... (re-edit) Looks like one person asked that (or well got an answer-ish) in the old QnA session. They asked about attributes having any changes amongst skills and blah blah. The Attribute part was side stepped and ignored all together though so thats wildly unhelpful lol.
