I wasn't saying she used it in the trailer that came out today, I was saying she used within the SDCC and the E3 trailers:

At 18:38

I see what you mean now. I wasn't clear at all why I was even looking at the new trailer, heh. I was trying to reconcile the new trailer and the skill trees we saw, because the available skills in the E3/SDCC videos contains a lot of fiddling. For example, Iron Bull had Holy Smite without the Templar spec, and it could be seen clearly that the ability icon was missing as they scrolled through the trees -- it was manually added to him. So I wanted to see if Stonefist was used in the new video, since the previous ones had limited the number of places the spell could come from (at least for that build).

Ah, gotcha. My bad. Totally misunderstood what you were looking for.

Doesn't help when I'm assuming that everyone is privy to my personal train of thought. :P

Ha, you know, I should also have checked the video you posted before thinking it was the E3 one. The funny thing about that particular video is that you see all of Vivienne's trees, and the Stonefist spell is not in any of them despite that she uses it in the demo!

//EDIT: Er, then again, you also see that the inquisitor and Vivienne do not share two trees -- the Inquisitor has one tree that looks like DA2's Horror ability and the other that looks a bit it might be Necromancer, while Vivienne has KE and Discipline.

In the E3 demo, the Inquisitor had all specialization icons when it was the dwarf warrior. The mage was probably setup the same. The DA2's Horror icon is probably a spec icon and that pretty much leave it at "Rift Mage". Unless that was the purple icon and Horror is the Necro.

Also, a few days ago Cameron Lee said that mind blast was still in the game, I can't find it personally. I don't see it in the now old spirit tree.

Ah, good point. Horror icon strikes me as a placeholder regardless, so either is possible. Still leaves out where Vivienne is getting Stonefist from, though, unless it really is a Necro or Rift Mage spec ability (which would be really weird). Even more strange, the lightning tree (Entropy in video, clearly not Entropy school) has a passive icon that appears to be a buff to the spell. Evidence for default abilities?

Vivienne has it in the new gameplay video, I believe.

Mindblast is the third icon down on the left side of the spirit tree. In the new combat video, you can see a purple version of the DA2 icon for Mindblast that Vivienne has on her hotbar. Think it is towards the end. If you look carefully at the blurry third icon on the left in the Spirit tree, you can sort of see that it matches that design.

Edit: it appears at 2:25 on her "Y" button mapping. It is a purple brain, viewed from the side with the frontal lobe on the left and the cerebellum on the right. If you pull up the Spirit tree we saw at SDCC you can see that the shape is the same.

2:25 is where Vivienne has it. Bound to Y button right smack in the middle.

Hmmm, I think Fireball might be the one set to RB. I see Flame Burst at X, Wall of Fire at Y, and Firestorm at B.tumblr_n9i5teX6Qr1ryr3o1o1_250.jpg

Pretty sure RB in that pic is "Fire Mine", which was showed off briefly in the demo when they went down the Inferno tree. I think Flame Burst or Flashfire might be the new Fireball.

That's kind of how I feel in general about these trees... but I'm trying to stay positive.

Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely in love with all of these new spells. But I still want my fireball dammit!

Well one of the new spells from the Hinterlands/Redcliffe Castle clips is like an aoe fireball, but it does not shoot out of your hand/staff. It kind of erupts. Maybe? Eh?

I just hope there are some spirit damage spells  :( I just want to shoot purple magic all over ¡Maldito Sea!

Maybe all the spinning around and whacking stuff with your staff is considered part of the "battle mage" tree or whatever now?

Might be why we don't see as much "Mage-Fu" as we did before.

Did anyone snap a picture of the Inferno and Winter trees?

Just done it now,

This was as clear as I could get the winter tree.

The rest are in the spoilers.

I'll update the OP with the new trees ;)

So fire and frost have two whole dedicated trees for them?

This might prove to be awesome in game, but for now, i am a bit disappointed. It depends on how elements are handled of course, and what more can they bring than just damage.

But man, too much focus on elemental stuff.

I thought this was Americ I hope there's much more to Mages than being mostly elemental nukes. Even if they bring utility and conditions through elements, i still wouldn't like it.

I did larger screens of the Trees from the Comic Con Demo for the OP

Inferno and Winter seem for now to be the same as the Discord and Discipline trees in the previous demo. So if you wanted to see the winter tree more clearly, here it is. It has the ice spells, that teleport spell and the attack spell that seems to coincide with the element of your staff.

The rest.

Interesting that the Pyromancer upgrade gives you a bonus to willpower. I wonder if more passives will improve your stats.

Well there seems to be a little more crowd control in the elemental abilities, traps, freezing enemies, separating them with walls of ice and fire. I do hope other schools get as much attention in the game though.

Yes, I hope to see others elementals.
Fire, ice and thunder appears in almost all RPGs or at least in all them.
Earth, nature, spirit and entropy or something new need a chance too.

People, you are amazing. Thank you for the support :)

Hmm i can't understand anything from the Knight Enchanter tree (well, to be expected).

These might be subject to change also i assume, which might explain why they don't want to say too much stuff about specs and whatnot, yet.

If I were to speculate I would say the purple ability with the two upgrades is the "magical weapon" ability. Most of the rest of the tree seems to be passives so it'l be buffs and defensive effects. Then at the bottom we have two more actives, I would say they are some magical weapon attack abilities. They are probably pretty awesome seeing as they are at the end of the tree and they are spec abilities.
