Yeah. I’m very interested in the Spirit tree, as well. Don’t think I’ll max it, but Barrier (must-have!) and Mind Blast are two of my favorites, and I’m very cool with Dispel, too. Ugh. Decisions, decisions...

Alrighty then. So it has been confirmed that the Focus abilities are in the Spec trees....that leaves me wondering what the Templar has for it's Focus talent. Hopefully, it's something new and not just Holy Smite.

The Holy Smite icon seems to be at the bottom of the Templar tree... no idea what that helmet icon could be.

I'm going to play Archer first , and looking at some abilities I think you can do tons of single target damage.

I'm thinking :obviously archery tree + the sabotage tree (mostly poison , chain is not that great for archer ) ...if possible a bit of the sneaky tree too .(for stealth and aggro).

Not sure about the special spe , artificer seems sort of archer friendly with the focus abilities. Also it changes gameplay a bit.

But I'm thinking Assassin might turn the rogue into a  a beast.

This is what I'm counting on.  I am going to make Cole an archer who focuses on stealth and assassination.  Should be a fun combo.

Whoa, hold on. Just to make sure: that's still just for Companions right? (genuinely curious if a spec for the Inquisitor was shown with a Focus talent in it, 'cause if so I totally missed it...)

As of now, we have only seen the spec trees for the companions, but I'm pretty sure that Mike and Mark said in the stream just now that Focus talents are in the specs.

As a result, I think Haste could be a Knight Enchanter spell.

I, of course, am assuming that Mark of the Rift is an Inquisitor only Focus power, and could possibly exist in a tree of its own.

I don't feel like there's going to be a tree , more you unlock spells during quests related to the glowy hand.

True, but there might be just a little tree or at least a list of the Fade Hand spells available to you. I vaguely remember seeing a skill tree aeons ago that had an Inquisition sword and eye symbol on it.

Ah, thank you! :) I ask because, there's been tons of new info and I haven't been able to keep up with *all* of it... xD

But yeah, I kinda have another theory going on (Focus for Companions x Focus for the Inquisitor).

I agree that Haste makes more sense for KE (not sure about Viv's KE, though - IF it's more character-driven, but it could go either way).

I'm still greatly confused by the concept of focus as well..

Its like classes in other games which have a resource builder, eg. building up anger, once built up through certain types of attacks it can be used as a resource for other attacks. BW are just combining it with normal resource pool mechanics and extending it over the whole party. I personally think its pretty clunky design.

EVERYONE!

MORE INFO!

AND DEM PASSIVES!

Seriously, Stormbringer creates a chance that a nearby enemy will be randomly struck by lightning. That is just...beautiful. And a passive that decreases cooldowns with each basic attack?

I'm salivating. This makes me feel better about limited trees. At least the passives are cool.

Edit: Blizzard...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And also....passives. Winter Stillness? Why would a mage not take that?

The major problems for mages is the mana consumotion, Which is pretty high. It seems difficult to do two spells in a row without Waiting a bit for mana to regenerate.
Thankfully mana regen is pretty high, and with the passives and gears it might be possible to create a mage with a good mana pool.
On this topic, it seems the mage' passives are more spread between magic, Willpower and constitution, whole the rogue's ones are based on Dex and Cunning, with an exception on Artificier (Dex and Will).

I agree that the passives are pretty good.

So looks like I was right about them getting the description wrong when they revealed Static Charge. This one still says it paralyzes enemies but when they interrupt you, not by trapping enemies inside an electric field.

They used the description for static cage by accident. It's still on the site like that.  http://www.dragonage...ilities-preview

It's nice to see Wall Of Ice and Blizzard still in the Winter tree. That tree seems like one of the best so far.

I think the mana regen rate is fairly good. I mean, yeah, cost is much higher, but it almost acts like a secondary cooldown moreso than a real limitation. It comes back fairly quickly.

And as you said, a lot of passives help it along.

That Ice Armor could be a big boon for Knight-Enchanter

I imagine it'd be quite useful to melee fight your enemies inside your own Blizzard.

Throw Everything (for the artificer) sounds interesting. he only hovers over it for a fraction of a second so here is the description in case you missed it.

It's now or never. You use every ounce of stamina you've got to litter the battlefield with traps, The more stamina you have, The more traps you throw.

I will shot it and add it in a bit. Updates are coming soon, got lots of shots to do atm. :P

Oh my those Storm passives are sexy. Stormbringer may be my favorite passive in the history of ever. The passive that decreases cast times per basic attack is great, and should tie well with barrier on my Knight Enchanter, who will use KE, Storm, and Barrier almost exclusively...with a bit of Fade Step to get me right in the mix. Static Charge, Winter Stillness, Ice Armor, and Blizzard should be a nasty mix as well...should allow a Mage to lock down a choke point hard.

I don't quite understand the Mind Blast upgrade.  It says that "each strike with mind blast increases your protective barrier as you turn their pain into power."  Okay... so the description is "Barrier +10%"... but how is that useful if the Barrier duration is only a couple of seconds?  In most cases it's going to wear out long before the enemy does enough damage to destroy it... Thoughts?

Yeah, I'll definitely be taking that.  With Blizzard, Ice Armor, and the ability to freeze enemies in place, it looks like Winter is going to be a great choice for KEs.  Ice Armor just sounds amazing.  50% damage reduction seems like it would be extremely valuable...

Based on this new information, I think my build will be... Barrier, Energy Barrage, Winter's Grasp, Ice Mine, Blizzard, Mark of the Rift, KE skill1, and KE skill 2... I'd prefer Chain Lightning to Energy Barrage, but I need at least 1 detonator spell, and I'd prefer a ranged option even if there is one among the KE melee attacks... :/

I would say it gives a barrier similar to guardian spirit opposed to that of the barrier spell.

Some of these passives are really interesting. Static charge and ice armour are particularly cool (heh). Also, there was passive dodging and armour penetration in the rogue trees, which makes me happy.
