Enslaving every non-mage on the continent goes a little beyond "swinging the Mages way". It probably also goes a little outside a story about sealing a hole in reality and killing a crapton of Demons....

A story like that would need to be it's own game. You should write Bioware and ask them to make a AAA title about enslaving people...

I think Mage Supremacist is the wrong word, more than anything most of us pro-Mage types just want the opportunity to defend mages and perhaps even improve the conditions for them, some of us also want revenge against those that oppressed the mages and all of these things have been in the previous games so I believe DAI will also feature them. Who knows the Inquisition shall be pretty damn powerful.

Those guys that got wiped out by the Tevinter Empire? Except the last who trapped his soul in a gemstone for a thousand years to get away from them and went crazy from it?

Those guys are winners. They struck me as objectively better than all other people.

You say they got their ass kicked but Tevinter still stands doesn't it? Against blights, horned men and a heathen prophet, Tevinter shall never fall.

LoL and what it have to the point if bully kicks your back parts and you are still alive doesn't mean that you are strong.Every other country survived blights and qunari attack so well i don't see that as accomplishment.

Well it's a potentially equivalent response to the opposite extreme of 'kill all the mages ever' that TKS seems to be embracing. Besides I'm not suggesting Bioware creates a game where I actively enslave all of Thedas; that can come later of course. I'm simply proposing that they allow us to RP a more extreme mage viewpoint because they do exist and I'm sure TKS can explain to you all about them. So no it wouldn't need to be 'it's own game' and no I won't ask Bioware to make a game all about enslaving people as you so eloquently put it, because frankly that's not at all what I'm asking for.

Well technically if Tevinter wasn't strong it would've been conquered aeons ago, Magic is in fact their biggest advantage and they have the most advanced magic in thedas.

I think the people quoting various Sith Lords and talking about wanting to ally with Tevinter and would disagree with your assessment.

It was as i said qunari crushed them but ultimately came back because qunari were focused on entire continent so they had chance.I agree that is is their biggest advantage but in comparison to qunari technology magic was proven to be nothing.

He's giving you the 'official line'; nobody would be cool with us openly domineering

Aside from other mage elitists I suppose.

I've read a lot of lore and I've never seen that, if you have a link?

I don't think allying with Tevinter is as evil as everyone thinks, we've only seen it from the perspective of andrastians

Do you think Bioware is more likely would make a game where you could commit Genocide against an entire subset of humanity? I'm thinking neither of those "extreme" (*cough*psychopathic*cough*)  viewpoints are something that Bioware would want muddying up the timeline of a 5 game franchise.

But if that was gone, I would probably agree.

Of course not. And i wouldnt want them to.

But i would like to be able to play as a mage who believe himself and other mages as superior to non-mages.

Sometimes its fun to be the bad guy, as i said.

Don't forget runaway slaves who were tortured and probably raped! We've seen their perspective too!

Also: most Tevine are Andrastians too. They are just from the splinter sect that justifies slavery and human sacrifice. Whee!

Some Magisters disagree with it and even though most of us don't like to think about it slavery took place in our world too, So I think the magisters that disagree with it aren't evil, for example Dorian.

Par vollen is only part of Tevinter, Also I'm pretty sure Tevinter is the only thing stopping the Qunari from taking over the rest of Thedas.

Well, at least you are willing to admit that considering yourself superior to other sapient beings makes you a bad guy....

Right. The magisters that dont like slavery are fine.

But until thats gone, Tevinter isnt really "good". Bare in mind that in the context of almost everywhere else in Thedas, slavery is considered abhorrent.

Im pretty sure even the Qunari are against it, and they practice it at times.

Ah yes because everyone knows that when you want to rule people, the best way to do that is to kill them all. That way no chance of rebellion! Yes! Truly, you sir have a mind equivalent to, if not greater than, Napoleon himself! By the by, I would appreciate it if you refrained from calling me psychotic and, to clarify, never have I once said that I wanted to kill every non-magical being.

I think one of Tevinter's main problems though is that the economy would collapse without slavery so even though they might want to be rid if it they ultimately can't.

The reason nobody is admitting it's a negative viewpoint is because it's so blindingly obvious exactly how bad it is. Nobody is saying it's a 'nice' or 'acceptable' thing to do.

That's Cool.

Do you secretly think of yourself as a Mage? Possibly because having magic is a euphemism for being smart and liking RPGs and books and stuff?

And then always assume that Mages should rule unchecked over the weak Mundanes because you secretly think of yourself as a Mage?

Even though magic isn't real? And if you were somehow transported to Thedas you probably wouldn't instantly become a Mage because Mages are a genetic inheritance and how smart you are has no bearing on whether you are a Mage or not?

just asking random questions....

;)

No. I just like playing as a mage because the alternatives are lame and boring.
