Anyway, this isn't a mage vs Templars debate.

Wynne was the only mage still fighting.
On the other hand, Gregoir still had multiple Templars under his command. While they both managed to extablish lines of defense, it's obvious the Templars fared better than the mages.
Right, the ones who ran away and closed a door.

My first play true will be rogue chaotic good, save everyone, make peace, decisions depending on events in game.
Second yes will be pro mage.

Why not? It would actually be fun to be a Mage supremacist in the game. it's much better than all the whining dialogues that would usually be written for a promage PC.

Eventually, probably. I'm planning a sort of "Dark lord" playthrough as a human necromancer who would happily put mages in power if only because it would benefit him as well.

It would depend a lot on how much fun the mage class is to play. The class was a disappointment in DA2 - stick-twirling with the occasional spell-throwing doesn't do it for me.

Yeah, the mage class does need more powers or better ones than in 2. Although I did enjoy force mage. I liked the twirling and smacking enemies with my staff, although it would have been nice if it dealt more damage. But that's because I love lancer type classes.
The one thing i would really love is a magical archer class. It was the best thing about playing Dragon's Dogma.

Nanomachines that lock away their consciousness, son.

Yeah, me. First character. I'll play along with the Inquisition, but if there is a chance to help mages, to gain more personal power and freedom, or to help Tevinter, I'll take it.

Dragon's Dogma certainly has one of the best magic systems I've seen in more recent games.

Nah, I'll be the snarky Inquisitor who doesn't understand people who see the world in black and white.

Oh id absolutely do a playthrough like that at some point if it was allowed.
Its fun to act out the darker, less savory aspects of humanity in a safe, contained environment.
Haven't we all murdered thousands of people in games before? Sacrificed innocents? Had a bloody war path towards world domination?
Performed a ritual that would allow a baby to be born with the souls of a Old God?

It was so sad when the Inquisitor from the demo fixed a broken bridge with a wave of her hand.
That poor cursed soul.

Well he's not entirely against magic forbidden by the maker, It was hinted that he knows necromancy after all
