Camera mode changes randomly

I'd had this happen before, but it's driving me nuts lately. I always play on exploration camera mode, and I've even disabled the key that switches to other modes, so I don't accidentally push it. However, there are times (every single day at one or several points nowadays) when either:

1) I open the game and one of the other modes is the active one. Switching back to exploration fixes it temporarily, but it happens again the next time I open the game. The only ways I know to fix this is by either replacing the ini files for the old ones, or restore the key bindings to default and configure them again. Don't ask me why this fixes it, but it does.

2) The camera mode switches whenever I push a key that is bind to something else - normally F (quickcast menu), but I've just had it happen with Esc. Fixed by re-binding F or whatever key is the problematic one, or again, replacing the ini files.

Now, my question is: How the hell can I prevent this from happening? I can stand it if it happens every now and them, but it's nearly every time I play these days.

PS: Unrelated - In PWs, the "loot everything" button doesn't work when looting containers/remains/etc. It usually works in single player. I asked about this ages ago, but I never got an answer. So, any idea about this as well?

I have to do this every time I switch temporarily to some other mode.  It seems to get stuck off of Exploration Mode and stick me in Strategy Mode every time I start the game until I go into the settings again and click accept.  Even if you didn't change anything, that does it.  Don't know what could switch you out of the mode involuntarily, though.

Not for me, at least not a few times I tried some time ago. I had to re-bind the keys, which made replacing the inis a faster option. But I'll try your suggestion next time, just in case. At least it would be faster.

That doesn't solve the problem, though, so if anyone else can add any insight (on that or the loot bug)...

I just read that the setting "Exploration mode" is NEVER saved, and switched to "Strategy mode" on the next launch. Apparently, it looks like exploration mode (number 2 in the ini, 0 being character and 1 strategy) was added after the game was initially released, and the game only saves the settings as 0 (character mode) or 1 (not character mode).

And can that be fixed? For example, changing the numbers so 0 or 1 = exploration?

It certainly is saved in mine.  It never gets stuck on something other than exploration mode for me unless I manually switch to another mode, in which case the procedure I described above fixes it.  In other words, if I load up NWN2 right now, the camera will be in exploration mode.  What's the source of that statement?  Could the Client Extension be responsible for fixing it for me?

I use the client extension. Actually, I haven't played without it for years, but IIRC, the "loot all" button used to work correctly before I started using it.

I don't know about the "loot all", since I play only single-player modules, where it always works for me.

On a PW I never use loot all, because if there's any lag at all it doesn't loot all and the bag gets left (which increases lag).

Well, at least in my case, I can just click on the bag again and take what's left.
