Some of my more fashion-forward companions are going to hate what my Qunari mage is going to do to Skyhold.
Full Fereldan furnishings!
With some Dalish and Tevinter finishes.
He hates fancy.

In my head since the interview on skyhold i'm really interested in possibly being a quanari in my first playthrough (Highly military obsessed inquisitor) instead of human as I really like the idea of being some sort of spin of, of the Arishok with jesters, many prisoners and basically a large amount of fear inflicted upon my own men which will be shown through the customization of my keep. Its a pity I can't make my qunari sound like the Arishok. Can anyone confirm with evidence if there is an aggressive/direct manner of speaking i dialogue like dragon age 2. I've never looked into it, thanks.
All the news about skyhold has made me happy. Filling it up slowly with our own actions as we increase in power, individual companion rooms that look like they live in it, getting to choose the artistic themes.
This is exactly what I wanted.
I wonder where will be the "own corner" for each one of our companions?
We know Sera stays at the bar.
Leliana lives in here: (I envy her.)

Dorian has a massive leather-backed chair.
Maybe Solas prefers the library?
Blackwall will stay with soldiers, so does Cullen?
and what about the others?
Pretty sure Iron Bull will be somewhere where he can enjoy life.
Cassandra she will probably be with the men and train.
Vivienne will probably be in some sort fanciable room of her own with books and documents.
Varric will also be at the bar because Varric tells stories and love to drink, because that's what Varric does.
Cole probably somewhere dark and alone somewhere where he can think.
Josephine will be in a diplomat room.
That's my guesses.

I swear to the Old Gods if I find Cole hanging out in the dungeons after reading Asunder I am going to be seriously pissed.

Oh no, He hates that place XD
I guess he will be the ghost of skyhold, you can summon him when you need a talk ;P
I'm not serious.

He lives in the chimney and pretends to be skinny, dead looking santa.

Cole probably sppoks everyone else in the castle, especially if his 'ability' is intact. He will show up in various Inquisition member's personal areas and cause them to crap their pants by sneaking up on them.
If the Castle has a dungeon, I assume Cole lives there.
But yes, it's just plain weird Leliana is living with my Inquisitor and not my Warden.
I really hope Warden doesn't die and moves in.
It'd be the only place the two can enjoy a life together.

Its strangely hypnotizing
I...don't know about that.
Patrick Weekes commented on some apparently bizarre Cole affection thing about a month ago. Even though Cole is supposedly a "nice" person, he apparently would rather a captured enemy be executed rather than sent to prison. Another writer - Brianne Battye? - was confused about this, and Weekes reminded her about Cole's past experiences with dungeons.
I suppose that doesn't technically rule out Cole living in Skyhold's dungeon? But I don't think it's exactly a vote in favor.
also yes I understand that your comment was at least half made in jest
People do some messed up things.
Does Cole even sleep now that he's aware he's a spirit?
Or just wander the halls?
I am really going to take my time and enjoy this whole game, enjoy my castle and explore it, and enjoy my power! Really can't get any more excited for this game! Wish it was going to be Oct. 18th still...
I know.
I can't wait for the Skyhold I mean it is one of the things I am looking forward to the most, customizing it, and exploring it.
My big hope for Skyhold is that it isn't an unassailable bastion of your might, and actually comes under attack. I'd actually would like it to to actually come into play like say Crossroad Keep from Neverwinter Nights 2, or even Amaranthine Keep (or whatever its called) from Awakening.
I don't know exactly what it is, but to me personally, just 'living spaces' in a game, even a RPG, is completely pointless, mainly because I never stay around in it, I always want to be out there doing something (that and sitting at a desk reading mail just seems terribly boring). The appeal of buying furniture etc is rather lost on me for that reason, but strengthening fortifications etc is appealing, and fighting off sieges has always been fun with bonus points if it's actually rather deep and complex with choices and options (such as getting x means a vulnerability in y unless you did something prescient or well planned at w or even earlier!).
I'd also personally like it if it came under attack multiple times as well, maybe not random, but at certain points in the game which might result in damage and further choices to customize it.
Just something more than just a choice of whether or not to put a 4 post bed in Josephine's room (which seems a massive waste in resources, she should be sharing mine!
)
I'd think Cole would stay out of the dungeon because in the past that is where people have forgotten him. He'd also want them to execute people rather than just imprison them because his experience of people in dungeons is that they tend towards despair and I think that has drawn him to them in the past, so he'd be afraid it might still have that effect. I think he might spend his time around the kitchen or garden, because they mentioned about turnips ending up in odd places. I'm pretty sure that he'd want to stay close to whoever is friendly towards him, so either near the Inquisitor's room so he can keep watch for danger, or hanging around with Solas.
I'm really looking forward to customising Skyhold and strolling around it, bumping into people. Sounds a bit like Arl Eamon's place in Denerim but on a much grander scale.
Vault for Skyhold...CONFIRMED
#win
Hopefully Overlord like in the context that it will slowly fill up with gold in relation to person wealth or power or something. Or we could just lock Tallis in it?
