Anyone willing to hazard a guess on what that fourth mysterious decorative design choice for the Skyhold will be?
Felderen would be the obvious choice.
Custom?

I made a thing!
That was awesome! Thank you so much, Eric, you rock!!
New game play demo/info coming out on Monday! Watch it live on twitch 10am PDT
Those work stations kinda reminds me of Skyrim's Enchanting and Potion Making bench, tbh ^^'
They were in DA 2.
They just looked different.
Those work stations kinda reminds me of Skyrim's Enchanting and Potion Making bench, tbh ^^' I wonder what are those things for in DAI. Something similar? Is it to be used by the Inquisitor or just limited to a specific NPC (ie: like the forge can only be used by the blacksmith, etc)? Or maybe it's just there for decorative purpose (look pretty) ;
It looked like you could interact with them (press A) so they must be for some customizing...it's just there were a lot of them so apart from a weapon making, potion making...I was just wondering what else you could make with them...very cool to see though!
At one point in the game he claimed a lumber plot. I wonder if this has a direct connection to Skyhold.

Spoiler
Is that what that logging sword thingy was? I didn't quite understand that...then they quit, right?
@Master Warder Z : ah, I see.. Never played DA2 ^^' just DAO, thx for letting me know
@Riosred2 : ikr XD everything I heard about skyhold is just wow (maybe it's because I love to design houses / living spaces XD) from fancy decor to crafting stations, passsing judgements (and be judge by companions in return ^^' eheh heh..) .. Yesss
I totally agree.....skyhold is the most exciting part of the game for me at this point....even without playing I am stoked that I can customize my own castle, rule and hang out in my own fantastic fortress...I plan to take my time and fully check it out....love that BioWare has given us this!
Having our own castle is one of the bigger things I'm excited about for DAI. I know Neverwinter Nights 2 wasn't a bioware game but I really liked the Crossroad Keep bits even if they were a little on the light side.
Always like having a cool main base.
So, thanks to the new videos released today, we've learned that Skyhold is located in the Frostback mountains north of Haven. The location makes sense since its on the border between Orlais and Ferelden, the two countries the game takes place in. Its a nice neutral location with easy access to both countries.
Anyone able to provide a link for the videos?
Check the threads in the Scuttlebutt section.

I can't imagine them building a large castle in the middle of nowhere. Castles as very expensive and are primary a means of defending a location. Therefore, I assume Skyhold was built to protect a pass through the Frostbacks and was abandon long ago. Hence why we receive it in disrepair.
We don't know how many passes there are through the Frostbacks so its not out of the question. It would be expensive to maintain forts at every pass through the Frostbacks, so I can see only a few or even one major route being protected and manned for Merchants to use. That doesn't mean there aren't other passes that could be used but just are not to save costs.
By easy access I just mean its nearby, if Skyhold was located in the far west of Orlais it would be rather hard to get to Ferelden from your HQ, which would seem silly to players. It might also make players think that the Inquisition is beholden to Orlais which is something the devs what to avoid.

Err, I think I see a problem with miscommunication. By saying Skyhold is in a mountain pass in the Frostbacks, I don't mean its literally in the pass. Skyhold could very well be guarding the entrance to a pass through the mountains or some other significant site near the location nearby the mountain range. All I was saying is that on the map, Skyhold is placed within the Frostbacks location. That is all.
Im mainly hoping to customise Skyhold with a somewhat multi-cultural looks since my Inquisitor has interest in other cultures. If I cant do that, then a Fereldan-esque design would be fitting. Either way, Im glad the "home base" is rather large and full of content. Should be a much more enjoyable place then the ship on ME. (not that I disliked the Normandy)
If I have the possibility, I would rather take the eluvian for study and bring it to the Keep... If it involves to bring Merril, I'll do.
