I can't find the edit button 
...but I think you can get most of the companions before Skyhold. I don't know about Dorian but Sera, IB and Viv I'm pretty sure can be gotten before Skyhold. Blackwall as well, but again I'm not sure.

Yup it appears as if you do recruit all of your companions before getting to Skyhold

My Warden would be extremely jealously if he was still alive to see Skyhold. The Inquisitor gets their own castle, throne, soldiers and advisers. While my Warden had to sleep in a few makeshift tents in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for the info! Sounds good, I will try my best to get all the companions beforehand, not sure why I just think I would prefer it that way (and then have everyone move at once).

If your Warden was alive he would have Vigil's Keep.
Also does anyone know where Skyhold is located ?

I believe it is not in Haven. The Skyhold wiki says:
"Haven later serves as the initial base of the re-established Inquisition, until the organization elects relocate to the fortress ofSkyhold.[1]"
