We should be getting it in the beginning. Since the War Table is a big thing in the game and the Inquisition needs a base. It's not really as much our castle as that we govern it, as I understand.

One of my favorite aspects of DA:A was being able to decide someone's fate from my throne.
Actually one of my all time favorite moments in this series was when I allowed that thief to join the army and he ended up being the founder of a military order and I like that. I liked that because of my mercy he was able to attain the greatness that he was truly capable of.
I want more moments like that in the game.

I wonder how, and when, we get this castle? If it's the beginning of the second act, like in DA2 or ME1 (when we finally get the Normandy), then do we have to defeat red templars or something in order to win it? I hope so, because I don't want this fancy castle just handed to me, I want to win it!
Do we know that they are doing the timeframe in "acts" like in DA2?

You will be able to pass judgement on others and there has been hints that you can send people to the dungeons and then visit them there.
I wonder if we can torture them also? ![]()

Nope, and I highly doubt it since it would work badly with how the game is lined up.

You are evil!!
I hope it's a more natural time frame and not in acts...didn't really like that in DA2

Yeah, I was mostly joking. It would have been fun if playing an brutal coldhearted Inquisitor but from what I understand you wont really be able to be as brutal as in the first 2 games. From what I understand the Inquisitor will have one personality but we can flavor it with nice, clever, angry ecs. responses. But I could be wrong.

i have no idea how they're gonna work it, but that part abt how skyhold will change to reflect the perks you favor is interesting. i'm guessing that when we first get skyhold it won't be so nice looking. maybe a bit rundown? cuz like someone said--that war table is big. it seems there is sum kinda base there already, but perhaps just not really established yet.
as we go thru the perks and story--like with the keeps in general--the overall flavor of the hold will change to suit. like will it look more like a robust trading center? a military fort? or a center for espionage?
then on top of that, we will get to fine tune it. drapes, windows, etc. the colors and stuff...i think even the bed, too. iirc we get to do that, too.
maybe we have a nice greenhouse to grow our garden stuff? since yes, it does seem rather cold there.
as for myself, i think my skyhold will lean more towards trade and/or military. beyond that, it's hard to tell. i'll have to check out the dinnerware patterns available first. ![]()
oh, i would like a trophy room, or area, or maybe just a walll to display the loot from the particularly special kills. ![]()

i, too, liked that part in DA:A with the thief that became founder of the Silver knights, i believe it was.
buuut what abt when the peasants tried to revolt on you? demanding food? did you, will you, try to talk them down diplomatically? intimidate them---for their own good i dare say. i threatened to kill them, so that i would not have to kill them....
or what abt nobles that may want to betray/usurp you? employ the services of someone like that Wolf character? and coerce them to fall in line? and kill the rest? lol!
passing judgement is gonna be tricky.

That's the fun in it. If it was easy then it wouldn't be as fun and thrilling.i, too, liked that part in DA:A with the thief that became founder of the Silver knights, i believe it was.

Do you guys think there will be DLCs for the castle? Like item-packs with new thrones, windows, drapes, banners and other things for decorating? I would rather have that then Class packs like in DA2 that take away the fun in looting, something the game already had taken away much of.

I'm looking forward to the customization and freedom with this. One of my favorite things to do is have as much customization as possible.
