I think I might change my gun of choice on my FQI from the Mattock to something good.
But I look at my available weapons, and realise I have nothing decent. ![]()

Bear in mind that I'm not claiming to be any kind of expert...
QFI/Mattock is one of my go-to setups when I'm out of sniper amps. I earned a fair few AR medals towards AR Mastery by playing her with a Mattock, and had a lot of fun doing so.
As an example, here's what I do for geth on Gold: http://kalence.drupa...13Z41333!E7E3GG
I like the scope on the Mattock because I can hang back and play her sniper-stylee, though more of a designated markswoman than a sniper. For Primes, throw stickies; with disruptor ammo, they set off tech bursts when they detonate that also destroy any nearby drones and turrets. Also, Mattock shots are cheap, so one can shoot the drones and turrets away without feeling that one has "wasted" a shot. If the Mattock without piercing feels too feeble for shooting at a Prime or other heavy unit, there's the Arc Pistol sidearm: charge, cloak, release to fire a charged shot without breaking cloak, then charge and release again within a second or so for another cloaked charged shot. (Timing is a bit twitchy on that second shot and I mess it up, but that's how it's supposed to work).
For Reapers, try Warp or AP ammo instead of disruptor. For Cerby, try drill 3, I think it's enough to get double hits through a Phantom's bubble and an Atlas's canopy. In any case, a combination of stickies and Mattock shots takes Atlases down fairly quickly.
A scoped Mattock plays a lot like a Raptor. I prefer it because it has something of a crisper feel IMHO, but that's entirely subjective, YMMV.
EDIT: just looked at your manifest and saw you have an N7 Valiant. If you like sniper rifles, QFI/Valiant is a combination I recommend you try. It is basically my favourite thing in all of ME3MP.
It absolutely does, as the extra weakness to armor is reflected in the BE damage. It is not insignificant.
^ I have tried it in game with both specs many times, a BE with 6A in Warp does more damage to an armored target than one with 6B

I don't know why it would. Armor weakness only affects the damage reduction that armor gives to weapons fire. Biotic Explosions receive no damage reduction, so it shouldn't matter. The Warp itself will do more damage (maybe 300 or so) with Rank 6A, so maybe that's what you're seeing.

Weakening and Armor-Piercing aren't exactly the same thing I thought. So you're right that biotic explosions don't receive any damage reduction from armor, but wouldn't Weakening make a BE stronger?

The only difference I know of between weakening and piercing is that piercing only affects the damage your weapon does, while weakening affects all weapon damage done to the target. As far as an individual weapon goes, weakening and piercing are pretty much exactly the same thing, except that they don't stack as if they were the same thing.

The Valkyrie is not half bad as Mattock replacement. Go for headshots with it.

I like running this on my QFI.
I actually use the Mattock with the scope and the barrel, likewise. However I have my QFI specced with 5 in tac cloak, 6 in Sticky Grenade, 3 in Sabotage, 6 in weapon damage and 6 in fitness - to make it work against more than primarily the Geth. I also have barrage upgrade rather than warfighter package. I might swap out the scope for the mag upgrade, though - although I like it, there's something about the scope which doesn't agree with me.
3 points in sabotage is useless. If anything ditch fitness, she is an infiltrator after all, and run sabotage with: 4B - 5A - 6B. It works against all factions and the tech vulnerability can do some lovely things with a well placed sticky.

I heartily endorse the latter product and/or service.
If you put 3 levels in Fitness, she gets 750 shields so that a Cyclonic II is all that's needed to get her over the 1000 mark if you are feeling particularly squishy.
On topic: today - for the first time - I tried the Talon GI.
I'm still chuckling.

Try a Talon QFE next. Added bonus of jiggly bum bum makes it almost as powerful.

Yeah, it doesn't. The Warp itself will do more damage, but not the BE.

I would, but she refuses to let go of the Claymore she has now. Says she prefers the way it sounds. Some ladies can be fussy about stuff like that.
3 ranks of Sabotage is not entirely useless -- it still staggers humanoid foes for easier headshots.
marksmad, now that you've tried Talon GI you need to try Harrier GI. I posted about it recently... it was so OP that I <ended up with a bunch of soap on my hands>.

It's not just the sounds... it's the vibrations. ^^

Agreed that 3 ranks is great for the mooks, but if you want to have Real Fun with Sticky Nades (gosh, that "e" is so important there) then you need rank 6 Tech Vulnerability. And the QFI of all characters doesn't need 6 ranks in Fitness. She's pretty fit already ![]()
Blood Pack Punisher T-Sent actually makes the damn gun worth using....Also, recently discovered FQI Incisor combo is Beautiful against Cerberus....i finally got into a rhythm with the Acolyte/CSMG Warp Bubble Pull/Reave everything Just-a-car...took alot of dying with that one.
See, I disagree about three points in it being useless. It's THERE, and for a situational power, I don't need anything more. Against the Collectors or the Reapers, it is effectively useless. It is good against Geth, and depends on the situation against Cerberus. Three points, imo, is fine - even if it's just a few seconds to distract an Atlas or hack a turret. I don't need anymore for the way I play - which requires me to also use fitness. ![]()
I don't even own the Talon...

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???????
Sabotage works against every thing..because,,, BackFire...I put 4 points into it..sometimes I take it up to Explosive Hack for the laughs..Try Sabotaging just a regular Cerberus Trooper and dont do anything else..Watch his health start going down from the Backfire
