And the Phaeston isn't "garbage."  It's easily the 6th best uncommon weapon, maybe even the 5th-best.  And it's better than most of the common weapons too.

It's better than several rares. Revenant, Striker, and Argus spring to mind.

For me it goes - Mattock, Phaeston, Locust... then the rest are kind of crap for me.

That's my main kit right there. Take a power amp and all power damage evos for extra destruction and you can add the csmg and still be at 200%.

Revenant and Striker.... that's all a question of preference.  I prefer Revenant > Phaeston > Striker, but they are all pretty close.

A Phaeston you can just load 'n go...on pretty much any class.  Doesn't require stability enhancements to make it usable; weighs around half the Argus; reloads about twice as quickly too.  Throw in sustained 600 rpm fire with a base clip of 50 rounds, and I find way more uses for my Phaeston than my Argus.

 

But I still like finding ways to make the Argus work for me.  It's got one of my favorite firing sounds in the game.

Yeah, you can load 'n' go with any class with the Phaeston, it's definitely a versatile gun.  The downside is that it doesn't do much damage, and it's not really very accurate either.  If you put the Phaeston on the Human Engineer and spam powers, you will do better with the Phaeston than the Argus.  But if you actually set a class up to use the weapon for damage, the Argus performs much, much better.

Striker and Revenant are immense fun to use, especially on the right classes. The Striker makes me grin, frankly. But as you said elsewhere, the Phaeston is versatile. And the large clip size makes it very effective on AR or MM classes, for example.

Power amp eh? I should try with it. I took Adrenaline for survivabilty because I put only 4 or in fitness. And I do carry CSMG but try not to use it so often.

The only time the striker was ever useful was for the missile glitch.

Argus is way better than phaeston on the right character. But the phaeston is good on all characters.

striker is quite op on the destroyer, nobody can move if u put some explosive ammo on it

I use it on the batarian soldier. With the striker and BB, its a stagger fest.

I love the Striker..I hate how becuz of it's rep for glitching ....that almost every single time I show up to a match w it equipped I get at least 1 kick vote right away..then I have to explain that Im not going to glitch  <------ I have over 3,000 hours logged & I still don't even understand how that works

yes, it really deals insane damage even if i only use talon, pistol melee stunner and cryo ammo (imagine if i have shotgun omni blade and other ammo types). it literally one shot kills(stabs) a phantom on gold. con: quite often the idiot puggers just snipe the enemy you want to melee from the other side of a map.

 

even the human infiltrator is sick. remember cryo blast can give +25 dmg while sabotage can give +50%. and thats multiplicative, not additive.

Yeah I just carry it for backup for some of the big armor units. I actually skip adrenaline rush on my build.

Yeah, she's absolutely beastly - highest potential melee damage in the game as far as I remember.  I'd never tried her as anything other than a Sniper until QMR out-meleed my Krentinel.  In all our games that's the only thing that's ever come close to 'shots fired' by our illustrious Admiral.

definition of a versatile gun: for a gun that needs to do damage it doesn't do damage. its equally crap with every class. note.: marksman doesn't count, it turns (almost) every weapon good.

no f*** way. Argus is one of the best AR in the entire game with the right kit.  Revenant is also good, its no Typhoon tough. Not even mentioning the sound and the feel of the gun. Argus and Revenant feels like a gun, and sounds like a gun. While Phaeston sounds like a toaster and feels like a toy.
