No the mods you put on your gun, you can put piercing mods on your gun to have some innate piercing without having to rely on ammo types. If you haven't got those yet, you'll unlock them eventually.

Yeah I started trying that after I saw QMR rock it. Very fun, no worries about CD speed.

I've recently been tinkering with the human sentinels. Going with either 4/6/6/6/4 or 6/6/6/4/4 builds and rocking the falcon (ultralight mat + dmg barrel) and the talon (armor piercing + dmg barrel). Still trying to find a nice balance of survivability and cd reduction.

 

I just unlocked the phoenix adept too, so falcon on him as well. Makes landing those long range singularities much easier xD

I was rocking a 6/6/6/4/4 HS and using Throw Spam in my last match, biotics for bosses.  Still definitely does work on Gold.  If you have them I recommend the Acolyte and a decent SMG.  Keeps the cooldown very low, and you can strip shields and then (unreliably) OHK low level enemies with Throw alone.  You can also put ULM on the SMG along with the HVB for armour and reduce the cooldown even further.

They are def plat viable too, I used the HS for my first plat solo 6/6/6/5/3 with Acolyte and CSMG. Here is the build, and it's my go to for carrying iffy plat lobbies. Acolyte primes every mook/captain level enemy and throw will detonate the FE. CSMG primes armor in like two shots so it's shoot>warp(FE)>shoot>throw(BE) ad infinitum.

My condolences. Those are quite possibly my two favourite guns.

I sometimes find myself putting them on characters I shouldn't. Bad Arkhne, Bad! The High Lord and the Venom demand tribute, but sometimes I can't resist the siren call of these beauties.

I love the Disciple shotgun on my Asari vanguard... its very fun

 

In a game with Arkhne and Arktinen yesterday afternoon I also tried the Revenant on the human soldier and that was good too... even though I struggled against the bigger Geth because it didnt do so much damage... it was still fun

I also liked the Geth Engenier, tried it only once with Fuen and Xan though. Xan taught me a little bit how to use him.

I never played her on 360, but on PC I've been playing a lot of Asari Valkyrie.  She can handle herself fine, of course, but really shines in the Biotic Hit Squad.  After a 14 minute Hazard Reactor/Collectors/Gold game, Crash said "I have never seen armor melt so fast in my life".  We would look at Possessed Scions and they would die
