My friend, Raider, would like a word with ya B)

I'm not the one you have to convince, my TSol is pretty adamant about his Eagle.

And tbh, I hate the Raider, I only use it on the AIU, which I also hate, but together, they form some kind of harmony that means I can get to use both.

You might as well say Claymore TSol, it works out pretty much the same as Raider TSol. As much as I love the Claymore, I'd rate even the Talon (That I don't like) above the Claymore on the TSol. Single Shot weapons (Which essentially the Raider is, since trying to shoot one shot usually results in both anyway. Could be a console issue though) work better on the HSol for me, larger clipsizes work better with MM for me.

Not saying you're wrong to use it that way (I can see why it works for you), just saying this is how I play/view things. I know my view is unpopular when it comes to pretty much everything in this game.

It probably is; I've never had that problem.

In other news, Arkhne apparently isn't a fan of most guns. :P

I like lots of guns:

Saber, Lancer, Typhoon, Spitfire, CAR, Argus, Revenant, GPR, Avenger.

Valiant, Javelin, Widow, CSR, Incisor, Viper, Mantis.

BPP, CSMG, Tempest.

Venom, Piranha, Claymore, Disciple, Katana.

Eagle, Carnifex, Arc Pistol, Phalanx.

For a lot of the other guns, I just find something on this list does the same job, better. Though, in the case of the Argus/Saber, the job is just so good that both are great. Mostly it's just charge weapons or projectile weapons I don't like much. And then with guns like the Locust (which was such a beast in ME2), I'd rather throw the gun at the enemies, since it would do more damage.

Yep, unpopular opinions abound, I know there's a few there that are particularly not liked around here. And some notable exclusions that ARE popular around here.

BONUS;

Most disliked in each category;

Adas

Indra

Hornet

Eviscerator

Supressor

Bless your little cotton socks for including the Avenger.

I haven't tried out every gun yet, so I can't truthfully make a list of favorites, but based on what I've toyed with so far:

Saber, Harrier (I have an intimate relationship with ammo crates), PPR, Typhoon, Phaeston, Revenant (my ugliest child that was dropped on the head several times at birth but I love it anyway). Still no Lancer, and I haven't touched the Valkyrie.

Paladin, Arc Pistol, Eagle, Carnifex, Scorpion. I tried the Talon exactly once and was really confused, somehow. Never touched the Phalanx.

Wraith, Claymore (Claymore Huntress all day every day), Piranha, GPS, Raider, Eviscerator, Disciple, Crusader. The Venom's okay, but mine's still at a low level.

Locust (really liked it on QFI), Tempest, BPP (beast on the TSol), Hornet. No Hurricane, and I've never used the Shuriken but I'm reasonably sure it's awful.

BW (my one true love), Widow, Mantis, CSR, Javelin, Incisor, Raptor (with autofire macro). No Valiant, though it was described to me as a lighter andless powerful BW, which sounds lame.

Conversely:

Striker (Adas is in a close second)

Suppressor (I don't have very strong opinions about other pistols not listed)

Reegar (most unpopular of opinions?)

CSMG (but **** the GSMG too)

Kishock (it's just the Graal but worse, ugh)

So in summary, I think we can all agree that the Suppressor is a piece of ****.

I almost put the Reegar for most disliked Shotgun, but it's so amazing on the Valkyrie that it got saved.

Striker is pretty bad, yes. However, when people in my lobby complain about it too much. I pull out the TGI and Incendiary Ammo, it's actually good on him.

For the most part, I actually like the commons, they are pretty much exactly what they should be. Though, the Mantis has more longevity due to high damage and TacCloak Sniper Bonus. The Mantis is probably the closest the game comes to making a gun too OP for its rarity. The Mantis is incredibly light, even passiveless power classes can easily carry it, whilst still being able to OSK on Gold, and it's easy to max out.

The Mantis is fantastic. I loved it in my SP days and I still love it now. I mean, that's not to say I wouldn't choose a number of other SRs over it on a sniper, but like you said, it's really great on power classes.

Talon QFE

I had her using the Claymore, but decided I wanted to try a gun that let her be more of a power-using class. The Talon fits her like a glove IMO, primarily because it addresses her biggest weakness, which are shields. It also applies ammo effects really well, and she becomes the queen of tech bursts built this way.

The turret is mostly there for geth and phantoms. Cryo blast and tech bursts give her excellent CC capabilities. Incinerate is mostly used as detonator. This build really made me realize how many freezable (though shielded) mooks there are on gold.

She is really squishy, but can lock down mooks at will, and with the extra awareness granted by the scanner she should rarely come under fire.

Vindicator TGI

I used to use the Valkyrie, but tried the Vindicator on a whim, and found it perfectly good for gold. Always use TC and go for headshots. Overload to strip shields and stun, or to detonate fire explosions to up your damage against armoured bosses. Thermal scope for added wall hacking and awareness. Stability mod is mostly to ensure you can still shoot straight if the passives glitch when off-host, then again it's not like the TGI has much use for anything else here (adr mod I guess, but those are always in short supply).

It's certainly not the best build out there, but I find it fun and gold-viable, and I am happy to have found a use for the Vindicator :)

I use the Claymore on the QFE myself. However, the more I think about it, the more I feel the Talon is a better fit. I would spec her slightly differently, but that's just me, it's mostly the same (I prefer flamethrower turret, and power damage on rank 5 of passive). She really is one of the great characters in this game, she just needs a little help (And Talon helps with the shields without being heavy, or the acolyte).

Claymore QFE is a fantastic build, and I am sure I will deploy her again - though once you discover the awesomeness of the AR Claymore HSol, the Claymore will never feel the same on other kits :P

With flamer turret, I guess you would be able to create all three kind of exposions. I personally find her turret underwhelming, esp compared to the geth one, so I prefer to deploy it differently. Speccing for rocket can also help you determining where enemies spawned, since apparently the turret has an infinte-range geth scanner equipped :)

I do agree that passives can go either way. I prefer to up the Talon's damage, and the headshot evolution encourages me to aim before shooting.

Glad you find the build interesting! If you give it a try, do let me know how you like it!

I also like the Widow with the AR HSol. Double Tap Widow is almost as nasty as Double Claymore (Or better, depending on range). On Rio, I prefer Widow+Harrier HSol, but for smaller maps, all you need is the Claymore.

The only Turret I don't like is the Cerberus Turret. Geth Turret helps with shields (Though the unlucky among us know it can also lock you up like a Volus), and I feel it distracts more than the Quarian/Turian Turret. Though I find the normal (non-flamethrower/rocket) shots get more kills for me than the Geth Turret gets me. However, Geth Turret's Flamethrower feels more effective (Probably because I run weapons on most Q/T Turret, and power spec for Geth) than the Q/T's Flamethrower. I do, however, run Rocket Turret on the Turian.

I suppose the BSN could debate (Or argue, knowing the grumps around here) over which is better. Personally, I love them both, I find neither better than the other. For me, skipping either of them is not an option.

I will definitly give this a try ! I might keep the turret at 4 though, but what you said about its geth scanner is interesting.

Striker Krogan Shaman

Krogan weapon on a Krogan character for a little bit of roleplaying. Works surprisingly well on Gold, staggers almost everything and is quite fun to play.

Wouldn't take this gun to Platinum tho, in that case I switch to the Typhoon for a similar but more powerful gameplay.

Wouldn't you wanna swap those?  I figure Vanguards get a lot of face-cam time with BC...perfect for shottyguns.  Or are you trying to keep things light & quick for your cooldowns?

I often have them in reverse myself.  Firstly for the cooldown, because, y'know, squishy Drell.  Also, with the Talon you can take the power mod to make his grenades hit harder.  That's not so much of an issue for the Adept, who can output more damage with biotic explosions and can suffer a somewhat lower cooldown.

The Wraith also allows for very easy reload cancelling with Reave, so it synergises really well with the DA.

I watched some recent vids maybe TechnoT or Clyde can't remember possibly somebody else but they seemed pretty powerful.

DA - http://kalence.weebl...!33O53383!E.FEG reave then blasting them with the wraith from afar was pretty potent.

DV - http://kalence.weebl...!33O53363!F.8EG I used this build with a Talon instead.  Warp in, talon to the face and grenades to clear any remaining.

Incindiary or Disrupter. Weight glitch has to glitch. Fire 3 shots > proxy - doesn't have to be right away, but within a short window

If I do an AR build with the Krogan Shaman, this is what I use.  The point is to get your shield recharge rate down so low that any time you retreat into cover to let your weapon cool/reload, you will get your shields back 100%.  It's almost like having a Vanguard that doesn't have to charge to recharge his shields.  Almost indestructible.  You sacrifice a little weapon damage, but you get it back vs. bosses by using Warp ammo with Warp.  I know, using a Krogan with zero points in melee is sacrilegious, but it's super fun anyway.

I like the PPR best, but the Typhoon or the Striker would work using the same strategy (extended fire, then duck into cover to let shields recharge).
