Yes, a vast majority of the straight audience has no problem with some characters being bisexual.

I'm straight and it makes no effing difference to me.

That's true. Maybe in both circumstances it was just the loudest people who made the biggest impression.

That said, I've hardly heard *anybody* saying that Sera is an excellent example of what they wanted when they asked for a range of diverse sexualities. At best the comments are things like "well okay, she's a lesbian, but I still wish she was available as a romance option because [insert sexist or racist slur about Cassandra and Vivienne here]".

At the risk of sounding cynical, wasn't a major reason behind the "we want diverse sexualities" stance a desire to wall-off same-sex content behind certain characters and "preserve" others as straight, rather than necessarily being interested in them or their stories?

I'm pretty sure the most angry posters about this decision that previously asked for set sexualities thought "bring back set sexualities" would mean "make it like ME, where I get 99% of the options I want and don't have to worry about bros hitting on me". But I'm not saying that's a huge amount of people. I think it's always the most shocking ones that get the most notice.

But I can't say why more people aren't praising Sera. Maybe it's because it seemed like the lesbian audience was pretty slanted towards Cassandra, anyway. At least, that's how it seemed in the romance threads I've followed.

Would any straight audience touch the bi content anyway? I romanced zev once because I genuinely enjoyed the character
I did it once and just out of curiosity about his arc. And leli just ninjamanced me.

And the only reason I managed to romance the male characters in da2 is because I can safely headcannon that they're straight. For example even if I only romanced anders once. I did not have to hear about his relationship with karl. And again fenris because nowhere in the game it was implied.

Why would it matter if a romanceable character is bisexual? I mean...it doesn't really change anything for your PC.

Straight male here i romanced Isabella and Leliana more then any one else. I never romanced any of the males because well i always play as close to myself as possible. I didnt go out of my way to avoid them tho i like to know who they are.

As for whether straight people would "touch the bi content", David Gaider said Leliana was the most popular Origins romance by quite a bit. So, yes, they definitely will.

It's also possible that it's a different group of individuals speaking up now.

360 and PC players must have very different tastes from PS3 players.

Indeed i loved DA2 accessability & was no fan of set orientations. While i'm not foaming at the mouth i'm certainly happy expressing disappointment at not having access to Sera romance in the manner i wished.

Why?  Got some numbers handy?  Otherwise, I think DG probably knows what he's talking about better than we do.   ;)

You're being fairly reasonable about it at least.  You aren't screaming "straightphobia" and various other sorts of nonsense I've seen on the forums this weekend.  I was disappointed about set sexuality too, but hopefully we can both be positive looking forward.

Yes. But I guess im the only one in the whole world :-(
No im not homophobic. Some of my dearest friends are either gay or bi. We just dont talk about our exploits out of respect that some things arent for everyone.

Though not when theyre drunk!

So, your gay/bi friends never talk about their relationships?  Or do you never talk about your boyfriend/girlfriend (not assuming gender here)?

Sexuality isn't just about sex, it's about relationships as well.

Yep PS4 players can call up any trophy listed by % on either the PS3 or PS4. These are from a week or 2 ago so may be a little off.

First Knight (Alistair) 8.4%

Witch Gone Wild (Morrigan) 24%

Easy Lover (Zevran) 10.1%

Wine Woman and Song (Leliana) 11.8%

Hopeless Romantic (all) 3.5%

Fair enough.  Well, even according to those numbers, Leliana is still the second most popular romance.  It goes to show that most straight folks don't care if the companion is a bisexual or not.

Plus, DG was taking the totals of all platforms, as you mentioned.  So, even if the PS3 crowd is skewed towards Morrigan, the overall numbers could very well reflect an entirely different story.

It's totally reasonable to not want your LI to talk about past lovers: That's cool and I get it. But specifically not wanting a love interest to be bisexual is a different creature entirely.

Maybe I was just dense at the time of my playthrough, but I didn't even catch onto the fact that she was bi until either late in the relationship (post-Marjolaine) or even as late as the Leliana's Song DLC.

The Alistair stat suprised me too.I even went back and checked I never left a 1 off. Certainly given the gushing on the boards at the time I expected him to be much higher.
