Do you mean as a potential LI or just a decent character in general?

As a potential LI.

Might just be ME. But I see nothing wrong with the design of the female in the comics. Why are you making such a big deal over nothing?

She looks like the qunari female in the original concept art if you ask me.

I dont feel like its wrong to find a character attractive and hope they can be a romance option.

Its a Bioware game, the fact that i also want meaningful dialog and interesting insight to the character and their world and personality is implied.

The reason I don't really like the "fetish" comments by DG is because, for the most part, it's an assumption on his part. I'm sure there are some people out there who do fetishize tall muscular women, (admittedly I didn't read through the whole thread, but I did skim it and none of the comments really jumped out at me or struck me as being fetishistic) but to just assume that it's the primary reason for people wanting a Qunari LI just doesn't really sit well with me.

Another reason is that his comments are pretty much solely aimed at males. He has never said anything to women asking for different types of romances, but when a guy asks for a Qunari or Dwarf LI, he must have a fetish right? It just screams "It's only icky when guys do it."

Having a problem with sexualization of female characters is not "making such a big deal over nothing". Even then, her outfit is completely impractical. There is no way that top is supporting her breasts - if someone in real life were to wear that, they would constantly be falling out.

People in the tropics should dress light. As for the other thing, it actually supports the theory that gravity is much weaker in Thedas.

Now come on lets be fair with her outfit here after all Qunari have some very advance tech compared to the rest of Thedas, whose to say that they don't have some safe for skin super glue that the women can apply so they can safely wear their chest straps without the worry of falling out ? :P

I know, as a woman, I'm supposed to argue against the sexualization of female characters in entertainment mediums, and normally I do...

But I like playing as characters I consider attractive. Based off the comics and original concept art, I had interest in playing a female qunari. After the E3 demo, I do not. There's obviously some women who feel differently, so this is just me.

The thing is I have no problem with it if it was female or male characters wearing that or nothing. It's a game in case you didn't know. I'm not gonna get worked up about a woman wearing something impractical or a man being naked. It's fantasy not reality.

Some of my female friends who play dragon age were also disappointed. They like to be considered attractive when they play their characters in rpgs. ( I do to with my male characters to be honest ). They will stick with humans or elves. To each its own.

Nah, she's pretty and all, but the first time I saw her, my face looked like this:

"It's the first time you show a female qunari and you just HAVE to show half of her breasts?? Really???"

I hate impractical armor on women, I detest it with all my passion.

but

Most qunari we saw were shirtless anyways, weren't they? That thingy looks similar to the bra we saw the concept-qunarilady wearing, so maybe it's qunari-fashion? I really don't know...

So it's fine if the male Qunari are wearing nothing but it's not okay if the females aren't. Ok.

I don't think it was armor. And frankly, I find some arguments against impractical armor to be kind of funny because not only there have been real world cultures who fought with very little if any armor, there were actually some that dressed down for combat.

That comment was towards the men and women talking about wanting to romance a female qunari. He's also talked about not getting the Varric love and finding people talking about dwarves as love interests odd.

That said, he may be hesitant to publicly rebuke a group of women for being attracted to a certain body type and talking about it in a fetishistic manner.

So it's fine if the male Qunari are wearing nothing but it's not okay if the females aren't. Ok.

One of these half-naked qunari was drawn to look powerful and scary. One was drawn to look sexy.

Is this about her face? Because the face will be likely customizable in a way that you can great an attractive (for you) face.

If someone comes in to talk about how they dislike the male Qunari design they are well within their right to do so.

I consider your contributions to be intentionally derailing.  Some people will have issues with the Qunari woman from the comic, others will not.  Telling either of them to not share their perspective isn't necessary.

Hell, shoes/boots were optional for some warriors of the past too. Not just armor. Shoes. :P

To be fair, there plently of people who don't like qunari being half-naked in DA2.

This is just me speaking but if her straps made any sense I would still laugh but she'd at least match the male a little better, if she was going to go with something that was't going to keep her breast in place she may as well gone out shirtless. Though I still would have laughed though for me its not about how she's dressed its that she just looks so frail compared to him and frankly looks like she'd break her pelvis is she went through child birth. But again this is just my opinion.

Again, they come from the tropics. Wearing a lot of armor there isn't practical.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intentionally derail the thread...

But it's just frustrating when people say the female Qunari shouldn't be able to wear what they're yet the males are able to basically wear nothing. It is their right to do so, I just have a hard time believing it to be fair to judge one gender and not the other.

I also never said to not share their perspective... I'll stop since I don't want to continue derailing the thread.

Yeah that was an odd redesign making them go around shirtless. I'm not so sure how great of warriors they could be with their vitals exposed like that.

They were not in the tropics at Kirkwall that's all I'm saying, if they can get a supply for endless spears surely they could get something to strap over their chest and protect themselves better.

Could be a way of showing that they don't fear their enemies.

Kind of like how the Uruk Hai in the LOTR films only had front-facing armour (i.e. their backs were completely unarmoured) with the idea being they wouldn't need it, as they would never turn and flee in battle.

I didn't say anything about being in favour or against it, didn't I?
And even if it doesn't make sense to wear a lot of armour in Seheron and Par Vollen (I'd question the codex on qunari facing the rest of Thedas in full platea though), it doesn't mean it make sense for them to not wear any armour. Heavy armour isn't the only type of armour.
Not to mention there's Nothing preventing them to Wear clothes.
