That doesn't look at all like any qunari outfit we've seen, male or female ![]()
I honestly don't care how they're dressed. I just wish people didn't get so worked up about it.
I suggest we leave it there.

I thought that this was what a female Qunari officially looks like...
God those eyebrows look so painfully drawn on. Just...at that point what's the point of them even being there.

Thats what the face of the qunari they created looks like.
I assume they wont all look that way.
Also, that armor is so bulky, its impossible to tell what the build actually is.

We have no idea what she looks like underneath all those clothes ![]()

The point is, there are native people living in tropical climates that wear practical clothing, so the "but it's hot!" excuse doesn't cut it.
Anyway, I suppose I should stop derailing. I have this bad habit of being unable to resist addressing people with problematic views.
I've also argued that the sexual dimorphosism seen in the qunari isn't really more extreme than what we see in real world humans.
Look at male MMA fighters and female MMA fighters, or male professional wrestlers and female professional wrestlers(that one's trickier as you have to pick out the actual wrestlers as opposed to the glamour models; look to the indies). These are people who build up real muscle, real functional strength, and real endurance. The men will still typically dwarf the women.
Completely agree. I understand the argument about attire, because chainmail bikinis and whatnot simply aren't practical, and are created with enhancing the characters sexuality in mind.
I've never understood the argument that female warriors should look just like male warriors though. Men and women simply have different body builds and muscle definition.
Wait. So wanting to romance a Qunari or a dwarf is odd and fetishistic...but elves are A-OK?
I don't know who started that topic, but I will say I'm not following you on that one.
Yeah I don't get that either and I've personally wanted to have dwarf romance ever since getting to know Sigrun in DAA. Not sure why elves get a free pass though but for some reason to some people qunari LI=fetish and dwarf LI=child bride at least according to some posts I've seen in my lurking days.

Men in video games are hardly realistic either. It's okay to indulge power fantasies, as long as genders other than men get to do so as well.

I love the "It's hot!" excuse! I wish it was more widely common ![]()
Your last statement comes across as rather condescending, but all right ![]()

Just out of curiosity, but how many women actually want to look like a massive ball of muscle? For that matter, how many men do? I know I wouldn't.

Women in general aren't designed to be as big. They have more essential fats (while males don't... and like it or not, this is related to the female's being designed for fertility, pregnancy, breast feeding, etc), and males get a huge boost of testosterone after puberty.
edit: I guess I'm assuming the same thing applies to Qunari.

There are those who find playing a sexy, competent and powerful female protag to be a power fantasy. I among them.
I would say, if you're going to do romance scenes, they should be tasteful, like witcher scenes, or game of thrones. And this doesn't just involve sex scenes, it involves all kinds of scenes/dialogues that are available to a love interest. Because players have wanted to see deeper romances in bioware's games. Not just in terms of sex scenes, but in communication with a character as well.
I mean to say that love interests should reveal different personalities to the player that the player wouldn't have known about if they didn't romance them. I feel that recent bioware games in love interests, the only big thing that someone got out of it was a "sexy scene".
And if you're going to do "sexy" sex scenes, I would say that either do them lustfully, or not at all. For example, Bioware's recent big game, Mass Effect 3, had a romance where two women showered together in their clothes/underwear. There wasn't even any real sex there, it was more on the lines of awkward body animations. Scenes such as these felt insulting to me and other players, it was as if Bioware felt that I couldn't handle sex scenes, and that they're too awkward for me to watch. Whereas I see things like the Witcher do adult more adult themes, I feel that the developers trust the player is an adult, and isn't afraid to shy away from doing such scenes.
I would have preferred a "fade to black scene" instead of the shower scene. Like Allan Schumacher said, this would save time and money on animating these scenes, while the player isn't left feeling insulted.
I like the look of Rasaan. I hope I can emulate it.

Oh, lol, I didn't think of it that way.

I was mainly talking about the guy who was upset about me complaining about objectification/sexualization. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yeah, they're certainly... something. Hopefully they improve the brow styles before release.
I thought they were done with all the content (including art stuff), and are just testing for bugs at this point?
Also keep in mind that it may look different in the actual game, just because the screenshots are so low-res.

They do. Power fantasies go far beyond how your characters look.
I for example get a far bigger rush from being able to save the world than I do from playing as a character that has beach muscles. I've never wanted to look like that. Either in game or in RL.

I thought alpha meant they were just done adding new content and focusing on improving what was had? I don't know.
I hope so. Those brows are tragic. Vivienne must be so disappointed in that Inquisitor.

I'm sick of both. Don't want to be musclebound, and would love to see the world burn for a change. ![]()

Just curious, but why do you find them to be untasteful?

Only if I get to fiddle while it does. And muscles, like so much else, are better in moderation ![]()

Alpha means feature complete. It means that all of the game mechanics, and levels are essentially set in stone.
Beta means Asset Complete. That means that all of the art assets, textures, sounds, and stuff like that is in the game.

That is correct. Alpha is bug fixing and making sure they have all the features down. Beta is solely bug testing and fixing.
Just curious, but why do you find them to be untasteful?
Why do I find the Witcher's either Women Card Game or Witcher 2's porn untasteful? I think a better question is asking why people find those scenes tasteful. I'll grant them the Triss in the Elven Bath scene, but every other scene is just
