Some people found it sexist, some people don't care. We have established this. There's no reason to continue this discussion.

Indeed, best for people to drop it before it gets bigger than it needs to

Eh I rather DAI love scenes not be graphic. I mean...I find most animated sex to be hilarious. I really rather not get to the intimate moment then be trying badly to hold in giggles (god DAO scenes. So much laughter).

ME's scenes mostly worked because it was low light non explicit and brief. (and I still crack up during Steve's scene. WTF is with the lighting in that scene).

Something like ME1 would be good.

DA:O was cringeworthy, don't do that again.

I don't see how they're bad or insulting scenes. They are much sexier to watch than Bioware "sex scenes"

LOL.

If you mean the 'only the woman is naked and the dude has pants on' sexy way then i don't know what else to say. What about the straight women who want to see Geralt's naked form, or even his ass?

Yeah, no. As much as I love naked ladies, i'm all up for fairness for the poor straight ladies who play that game.

Edit: and yeah, that's all i'm gonna say on that matter. It's not sexy when it caters to only one gender.

See...I don't get what's so weak about that female Qunari in the picture. She looks lofty, arrogant and like she's turning her nose up at someone. I don't see weakness.

Meanwhile the dude doesn't even look like he has any expression other than Grrrr. He's buff but he's not doing anything. I don't see anything other than a gargoyle in his face.

*shrugs* that's just me though.

She's turning her nose, but its an erotic pose. Her back is arched, her hand is on her chest and generally emphasizes her breasts... It's definitely meant to be alluring.

Lofty and arrogant is a type for some guys. In fact, its probably my type now that I think about it.

What is offensive about the Witcher romances was the collectible trading cards you got for sleeping with someone. Treating sex with multiple women as one of the "collectible mini-quests" is kinda gross. It also kinda encourages all kinds of sexist behavior that no one in their right mind would view sex as.

Well I was really talking more about the witcher 2 scenes.

Yeah, ME1 or like I said earlier Liara's ME3 scene worked pretty well.

They could do it the ME1 way or ME3: Liara's scene. Without the underwear thing ktnxbai.

TBF they rarely show the  guys D or A in films as well.

That seems to be changing. Not so long ago I went to see the last X-Men movie. I certainly didn't expect to see a lingering shot of Wolverine's ass.

ETA: And that movie was rated PG-13! Apparently a dude's buttocks are less offensive than a woman's. Now I'm offended.

I know but still when you say a scene in witcher is better than some bioware scenes because it had only the woman naked is kind of annoying. Bioware's scenes would be good if their scenes didn't involve those hideous underwears.

Yeah ME1 was fine but honestly I just rather FTB. Just seems a meh use of resources.

True but the ME1 scenes were pretty much copy and pasted for everyone with Liara having a special intro.

It's not a weak pose to me though. And honestly I'm tired of the sexy woman can't be strong attitude I've seen in some parts. It's tiring. I can understand being sick of it being one of the only representations. But acting like attractive = weak just loses me.

And I guess to me she just looks better than the male standing next to her. Her body and face show personality while to me the male just looks...there. *shrug*

XD nothing wrong with that. I prefer ice kings myself ^_^

I didn't like the ME1 way because the majority of the focus was on the woman's body. When I'm playing a woman romancing a man, I don't want the camera glued to my character's bod in the romance scene (the reason for that is I suspect it was just a recycling of Ashley's scene). Even the conversation before had the camera angled on Shepard's face and the back of Kaidan's head. >:(

By 'the ME1 way', people mean that they will have the characters naked but with clever use of shadows, camera angles, etc you won't see anything really explicit.

And yeah I wasn't too fond of the ME1's scene male gaze either. I just assume the DA team would be more equal about that.

I liked the witcher gameplay wise, but that game is too sexist and I just can't stomach it. The sex card aspect reduced women to  nothing but objects to bang. Needless to say, I won't be touching  witcher 3 wild hunt.

While the flak the first Witcher game gets for these sex cards is well deserved, maybe we shouldn't overlook that DA:O achievements for romancing companions work in pretty much the same manner -- you get rewarded for each (major) NPC you manage to sleep with.

I don't expect many people in this forums to skip DA:I over that, though... ;)

I was also going to chime in to say that I am not a fan of ME1's sex scenes.  They are entirely from a male-gaze point of view, lingering on the woman's form (and FemShep's when you play a woman).  That's not how I want to see scenes replicated.

If it's the "ME1 way" meaning sex scenes in low light, strategic covering of body parts, intimate, yet focuses on the LI rather than the Inquisitor (making the 'gaze' POV coming from the Inquisitor), then I'm likely fine with that.  And, as always when this subject is broached, I have no problem with pure fade to black after a kiss/hug/snuggle/whatever, or actual sex scenes that show both parties fully nude.  As long as things are even between genders (none of this woman is fully nude, man is clothed bs), in nudity or lack of nudity, and the camera isn't male-gaze only, then I don't really care what direction it goes.  I just come at it from a "fairness" standpoint.

ME3's was the best of the bunch, I just wish that Bioware would get over the need for the underwear. If a show like Scandal or Grey's Anatomy can do a nude-free sex scene in prime time, then they can manage a nude free sex scene in a Mature rated video game without unattractive sports bras or WTF medieval jock straps. That's just me though. =p

I think they are afraid to Fox News'd again but the people BUYING video games aren't going to give a crap about how out of proportion that stuff is. Especially considering they could never be worse than some of the stuff that Rockstar pulls.

Because the only people that would let a news story like that affect their purchasing decisions, are probably ALREADY avoiding Mature rated games out of preference.

Oh, she totally looks better than Grumpy McSteroids, who is clearly audition for the role of Goliath in Gargoyles. I just totally missed the thread of the conversation and thought you were saying the pose wasn't sexy/sexualized.

I don't think it's a submissive pose at all.

On that topic, I had an audible WTF at the M/M Zevran scene when the Warden wasn't the top. Which, (1) clearly seemed to me to be the case because they probably recycled the M/F animations and (2) introduces a pretty clear issue of how the sex scenes are super unimaginative in how people actually have sex.
