FFIX and X are both awesome with romance. I can't think of any other memorable romances I care about from any other JRPGs, but there are a few good ones out there.
I don't agree, but this is a discussion about taste and opinion, so I guess just leave it at that.

I'm sorry but I can't exactly provide you with any comfort. I was pretty dead set against Fenris (the angst pretty boy elf) until he started speaking... and then my opinion changed rather rapidly. It's the shallowest reason I've ever had for choosing a Bioware romance, but it turned out to be rather fulfilling in the long run, so I'm glad I did. Lead me down paths I never would have taken otherwise.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Cinematic Director Jonathan Perry says the third installment of the Dragon Age franchise will attempt more ‘mature and tasteful’ sex scenes, taking cues from Mass Effect.“Something that didn’t work well is that we tried more, well I won’t say graphic, but in Dragon Age: Origins we had characters crawling around in their underwear and it looked weird because they were wearing these lacy Victoria Secret panties and outfits which looked out of place,” Perry told the publication. “Certainly when you have these characters interacting with each other in such an intimate way it’s incredibly expensive in terms of animation fidelity and getting it to look like they are really there and touching each other. I think Mass Effect’s scenes were done really well and I think we will take Inquisition’s scenes in that direction. You might have a nude character but they are framed in such a way that parts of them are in shadow, or having characters in various states of undress.”

Mass Effect carries a 15 rating so that suits the game. DA carries an 18 rating so I'm not sure why they can't just show people having sex,like you know people do.

The logic is: since it's rated M/18+, then it should have full on nudity. I don't agree with it, but that's the idea that I've seen tossed around before when the topic of sex scenes has come up.
Personally, as Wild said, I'm glad that it isn't Origins. I aslo like that it's more detailed than DA2, yet does not contain full open nudity. I really doubt that policy is going to change in the near future for BioWare, and I'm sure they've heard the requests off and on for years now. Anyhow, that's the official word for Inquisition's love scenes, and I think they're gonna stick to it.

Certainly not terrible news. Hope that they retain some of the well matched individuality of DA2 too though.

ME is rated 18 here though. However ratings come that way if some aspect in the game deserves it, for example violence. It doesn't mean that romances need to be 18 rating stuff and it doesn't mean it has to have drug use and cursing. I don't think BW needs to go all erotica with their games and personally I wouldn't even want that.

I don't really need explicit sex scenes, but...if at least we can have the male LI shirtless, or just not totally dressed before, after, and in every moment of the "supposed" sexy times....(Fenris and Anders with the weapons on their back during every moment of the "love scene" was ridicolous.)

The fact you have to protect the 18+ women from seeing the D, is stupid.
Making such a body part behave in a believable manner during a sex scene would be... hard (pun totally intended). And weird. I wouldn't want to be the animator tasked to do that. Not to mention a lot of people would rather not see any kind of genitals on their computer screen. A "no genitals" rule seems perfectly reasonable.
I have been trying to figure out the "no female nipples" rule for a long time now, to no avail.
