I've never rolled a female Hawke, but in my game, Sebastian was plenty interested in Bethany. And not in a chantry boy way either.

I always saw it the other way around. I mean that line if in MotA if you romanced him. "Sister, you lucky b****."

Im not exactly thrilled with it, but due to NDAs, i dont think we would even get this much interaction with Mr. Schumacher on this topic if it was actually in the game.

I think I heard before that if Hawke didn't get with some LIs that they were suppose to hook up with eachother like how Fenris and Isabela did, like Carver and Merrill and Bethany and Sebastian though that could have just been a fat load of nothing since I don't recall more than just hearing it, but I can't say I saw Sebastian showing that kind of interest in Bethany while Bethany on the other hand sounded like she wanted to pounce him and even kind of flirts with him whether or not if hes in a romance with Hawke during the Legacy DLC.

I imagine this bit of dialogue(if you didn't romance either of them) has something to do with it.

I dont know if they started a relationship, but the definitely have "relations". They even talk about it.

Varric and a qunari are, if I'm not mistaken, something that's been requested for a long time.  I understand them not wanting to compromise their vision, but good business is responding to the fans.

 

Within reason.  If we, the fans, decided DA4 should just be Anders lecturing about the mage's plight for 150+ hours, that would be bad.

 

Surely there is a middle ground?

Of course everything has to be within reason and I think they're could be a middle ground but in the end its Biowares game and so far they haven't made a DA game where I didn't like even one character so I'm at least very sure that even if they don't make characters I really would like to romance romanceable that they would still write them well enough for me to become buds with anyway but then again that goes without saying. A middle ground would be nice but I get that they write characters first then decide whose going to be an LI though I wonder how that works exactly. Ehh oh well, still would love to see a little bit more variety in the LIs besides blonde human and elf. (male wise I mean but hair color asides its always humans or elves)

They do kind of mention that they have a physical thing going on if Hawke doesn't romance either of them though. Doesn't happen until Act 3 I think.

Seeing the LIs might be interesting if they pull it off right though I"m not sure how they would handle explaining why they're there and where Hawke is and why Hawke isn't there with them, I guess they could always say it didn't work out and they took their own paths buuuuuut I have a feeling that would leave a lot of people unhappy, though I'm semi curious myself more so about my Hawkes that were with Merrill and Isabela.

Huh...must not keep those two in my party enough.  That's something I'd like to see brought up in later games.

 

As for people who never expected people would want to romance Garrus, Thane, Varric, Iron Bull, etc, we're human daily.  Video games are escapism, of course I'd be drawn to what doesn't exist in the real world. 

 

Helps that Garrus is so darling, though.  But I picked him out before I knew that.

I actually picture my Hawke being a huge jerk about it to. Like telling Merril that Carver is sworn to a vow of chastity, or that he gets horrible skin rashes.

 

Nothing really bad, just being super childish about it.

Chiming in on the whole, why isn't the LI with the protagonist in later games, bit(little late to that discussion) I don't know if it's just me, but I don't need to be attached to my significant other at the hip, and I don't mind that they don't feel the need to explain why they aren't with their partners to complete strangers.

Oh I wasn't saying anything happened to them I was saying I heard that like Fenris and Isabela that they were suppose to get together if Hawke did not romance the other person but it was cut, but like I said its just something I heard and don't know if its true or not.

It is fun to give Carver a good ribbing he gets so frustrated its just so adorable to me xD

 

Thats so mean and funny especially since Carver apparently likes to go to the ****** houses and sleep with women named after fruits behind buildings used to house animals so that wouldn't surprised me if he had some problem like that with skin rashes 

 

Snarky Hawke is pretty great though can really sound like a crazy person waiting to break out at times.

If these people are as famous as indicated, I'd have questions a la, "THE Leliana?" from The Exiled Prince, and asking Bodhan about the hero in Act 1. 

 

I realize Hawke didn't have a relationship to speak of with her cousin, but if I'd found out my cousin slew something called an archedemon, attempted to free the mages, and was bedding the king of Fereldan, I'd have some questions for someone who knew them, ie, Anders.  Maybe Varric wasn't there for those.

While I agree it does seem odd with the end of DA2 Hawke is kind of on the run either way so it would seem strange to me for our past LI to show up in the next game in another country without Hawke, unless Hawke is hiding out in a cave somewhere and is making their LI do all the shopping for them I guess *shrugs*

Oh, I'm expecting Hawke to be missing via Plot, probably something to do with Flemeth, actually. The idea they decided to break-up between games made me wonder why, and then the Scarlet Letter Miracle Whip commercial flew into my head, and... BOOM. 

 

I expect Varric and Cassandra to want to know where Hawke is, either way, even if the Inquisitor doesn't care.

Oh yeah, all i want to know about the Hawke/Merrill relationship in DA:I is that they are fine, and doing their "thang". I don't even care if i see them. I just want to keep that happy ending.

Maybe not a sexual interest, but a romantic interest seems probable. I've only ever played a male Hawke and thus, unable to romance Sebastian, but I think I remember Sebastian initiating the flirting by saying things like how the Maker made Bethany perfect and comments on her beauty in one of his banter exchanges with her. Of course, I could be wrong. It's been a while since I've played DA2.
