Even if it was just for five seconds of cameo, I wouldn't consider spending time in chargen a waste of my time at all.
I don't think I would either, but I'm pretty sure we're in the minority.

While I won't argue that it would be nice to remake my wardens and hawkes in DAI I doubt they would put it in due to cost, stopping the flow of the cutscene, and new players who don't know who the warden or hawke even are.
new players who don't know who the warden or hawke even are.
That too.
edit: Really, cant say ******? Seriously?
There is no end to the words you cannot say! As I found out a few pages ago, we also cannot say ******.
The one that confused me most was not being able to say ****** when there are brothels in both games. I guess they don't want people calling other posters names, but still. I guess we need to refer to the female half of the staff at the Pearl and the Blooming Rose ladies of negotiable affection instead, and the male half as gentlemen of reasonably priced love.
That too.
Then they should never have made it a thing. You can say the same thing about people who have never bothered with DA outside of the games not knowing who Cole is.

Screw cameos, I would make every single npc in the game (their appearance, not lines/personality/etc...) in the CC for fun ![]()

Okay, but you're not investing time designing Cole. He's just... there.
I think that if Hawke or the Warden show up, rather then having a face, it should just be a 2d image of that crappy Photoshop they used for Tali's face in Mass Effect 3.
I think it's an area where we need to separate the player's perspective from the character's perspective. Why isn't the Warden with Leliana or Zevran? None of Hawke's business.
I'm just not going to be particularly upset if in DAI we ask Leliana or Morrigan where the Warden is or Varric or Cassandra ask any of Hawke's LI's where Hawke is and they just refuse to answer. Maybe they know, maybe they don't know. I assume there's a reason they aren't together and I assume it's a fairly good reason.
That being said they haven't completely debunked the notion of Hawke at least and perhaps the warden as well making appearances in the game, so it's still possible we'll get some more direct answers.
Dear kind sers,
Please publish the the Romance Chart?
... TBC
I second this. It would ease a lot of fears and raise a lot of excitement for the fans of the characters, so it is a good marketing move. ![]()
Then again, if you not releasing it is partly because of Scribbles being on it but she hasn't been revealed yet, then I can wait. ![]()

I liked Tali's face.

Seamstresses.
I liked Tali's face.
I, uh... did not.
But this probably isnt the place.
Seamstresses.
But are the male hookers (can I even say hookers?) seamstresses or are they ... seamsters? Is that even a word?
But are the male hookers (can I even say hookers?) seamstresses or are they ... seamsters? Is that even a word?
Yes, seamster is a word. Though they are mostly referred to as tailors.

Yes, they are seamsters, but since we apparently can say "hooker"...

Evening tailors? I don't think Mrs. Palm even knows.
Since we have all the races that Origins had as playable again, and Hawke was human, I think it'd be quite easy to incorporate any-race Warden and Hawke into Inquisition. If they wished to. The Warden can ride up on a horse, shrouded in cloak, and once it is understood/revealed to be the Warden then the character moves a hand up to remove the hood and bam -- cut to chargen mode. Where you can recreate your Warden character again.
With Inquisition's options readily available in the customization capacity, there needn't be a stock, set Warden or Hawke, or even an ambiguous enshrouded figure for the entirety of the interaction. But in terms of characterization and what they might do... well, we'll see how it goes, if they even do appear.
I doubt they'd do a chargen in-game. :/
Ah ok, my mistake.
As i said, due to the fact that it would probably ****** everyone off when they dont look right, i dont think we will physically see Hawke or the Warden. At best, with Hawke, we will get his voice.
edit: Really, cant say ******? Seriously?
I think I remember reading a dev's comment on it saying that they will make an appearance and some people might be a little disappointed/upset with it. It's more likely that they will give Warden a voice but I think that's the wrong way to go.

Um... I would too. Hah. I spend more time in chargen than playing the actual games it seems.

I think sex workers suffice just fine.

Ughh...
Last time i heard them say that i got the ME3 endings...
We all should probably start talking abut "Romance" again. Lest this place get shut down.

In that case, it'll most definitely be default Hawke, and if the Warden shows up too, some new design for every race/gender combo.
Honestly, I think the easiest thing to do with the Warden and Hawke (should they appear) is, in the keep, ask the player whether they are male/female. Ask whether Hawke is the default version, if yes, bingo! If not, just have them wear a face covering helmet like The Warden.
Get the feeling the Inquisitor will die either way so they can avoid this happening again.
