Is it that the cast is heavily weighted, or because the females are less notable?Only having three to start with , then removing one , bit odd if you think about it.
Yes the cast could be a little more balanced. No I don't think it's because the females are less notable, they all seem like pretty awesome and distinct characters to me. No it's not really "odd". "Removing" one would still leave straight guys with two potential options, which is exactly as much as they've had in the past. Depending on your class DA:II only had three women to start with as well, and Bioware also "removed" one of them. There's still Scribbles to consider, she could be far more exciting that people are expecting. And at least Sera's available to those straight guys willing to play a female, better than not at all.
I do understand that things probably don't look particularly exciting from your end however. There's all these guys for the straight girls/ gay guys to moon over, and with race-gating as an option it's possible that more than a balanced number (ie the same number as female LIs) of them will be available to be romanced in some form or another. Meanwhile you're guaranteed to have a maximum of 3 LI's available to you if you want to play as your own gender, and if you're looking for a more "fun" companion to romance then you're pretty much out of luck. I can understand why one might already be starting to feel a little bit disappointed by their romantic options. But hey, maybe the game will throw you a curve-ball and you'll end up liking a romantic prospect far more than you initially anticipated.
also "Do not buy future Dragon Age games" repercussion too.
Whenever people talk about not buying future DA games for relatively minor faults I get worried. I mean, I get that certain things matter more to some people than others, but with all these "if the game does x, no more future purchases" statements it sometimes seems to me that I'll never get another Dragon Age game, because there's so few people left who would be willing to buy it.
