Something about being able to convert a complanion away from their religious beliefs doesn't sit well with me.

Me neither, but I like options.

I m sure Dorian will be gay only, I don't know, this moustache... damn this awesome moustache, Freddie Mercury etc :police:

I m very disapointed with Sera, she's a great character and she's lesb only, this is dumb because I really like her, she should be bi <_<

So what do we have for us guys ? Cassandra ? Meh don't like her personality and she has a guy face. Vivienne ? Sorry but I m not attracted by black women (and don't like her personality at all), there is Scribbles and she seems to be black too... :?

Well I will have to wait for Mass Effect 4 and i hope Bioware won't do a poor job like that on male romances this time.

You're already making judgements on how good a character is even before the game comes out, which we've barely shown any footage of  and we don't know that much about the characters yet. All of what we've seen of Cassandra is a little of her in Dragon Age 2 and Dawn of the Seeker (which took place before DA 2). Not to mention that Cassandra's way of thinking has probably changed a bit after hearing about Hawke's story from Varric. We don't know for sure so get the game or watch someone play it if you feel as though you must then make a statement on how much you like or hate the romance options. And no Sera should not be Bi because YOU wanted to romance her. She is that way because Bioware made the character and they usually write the character before deciding whether or not they'll give them a romance arc. So if you don't like that Sera won't be attracted to your Male Inquisitor then I suggest you make a female, use a mod, romance someone else, or don't romance anyone at all. I wanted to romance Aveline back in DA 2, but I didn't complain that wasn't able to. If you look back at Baldur's Gate 2, females and even Bisexuals and gay or lesbians have been getting better romance options since then.  There's no reason to complain when straight males have had the better end of the stick in Bioware games for a long time.

It'd be even worse (better?) if you get an evangelical achievement as a result. :P

I think it all comes down to personal preference and them being "bad" isn't so black and white.  I'm not really all too thrilled about the options from a females perspective either as next to none seem to be my "type", especially not Varric if he turns out to be an option…never saw his appeal.  Dorian caught my eye, but it seems like he might be for male characters only.  Oh well...at least I have Cullen.  *hugs*  <3

Of course it's all about personal preferences (I see some people thinking about racism here, ok cool for you guys, we are living in a world where you can't even state your preferences, kuddos guys), some people on BSN need to chill out and take some fresh air outside. I don't want to romance Varric because I don't like dwarves = on BSN "ohhhh you re a racist" + stupid gif or pic

Scribbles could be spanish or latino type, for me physicaly Vivienne looks like Scribbles, why making 2 similar characters ? Variety that's what we need.

Start counting people who think the same thing here or on IGN, Gamespot etc. So "You", "YOU", no not me sorry. In fact A LOT OF PEOPLE.

Yeah I m looking for that and I hope it's the case. She was boring in DA2, just another religious zaelot.

Im very disappointed with the Straight Male Romance options this time around. I would have liked more variety.

What do you guys think variety is? A bunch of conventionally attractive* white girls?

*I personally think Cassandra is conventionally attractive, but apparently I'm in the minority.

Man I m talking about romances, male romances. So we have Ser.... oh no we don't... so we have Cassandra... ok why not it's the forst time we have a boyish type in DA, we have Vivienne ans Scribbles (maybe), Vivienne and Scribbles look the same.

You want variety in romances ? Take ME3, Miranda, Ashley, Liara, Tali, Jack that's what you call variety.

But hey I will buy the game and enjoy it, some people think this is a big deal, well no it's not, I m just a little disapointed.

Um.

No.

Im sorry. No. Its not racist to not find certain skin tones or bone structures attractive. There comes a point where people need to accept some people attain physical arousal from different things then other people. And it has nothing to do with ethnic background.

If anything I would like to see MORE people of color. Out of all of those companions, only three are non white (not including Iron Bull, and Dorian can be disputed), and the other EIGHT are white.

Vivienne and Scribbles look the same.

They look nothing alike. Like, I can't even see Scribbles' face up close, and I can still tell they look nothing alike, other than the fact that they're not white.

Also, a "boyish" type? Since when have we had a "boyish" LI? You can't possibly be referring to Aveline, because she wasn't actually romanceable. And even if she was, you think the LIs would be more diverse if they were all hyperfeminine?

You... wow. You're attracted to skin tone? That's... wow.

So is there a threshold? A point where dark skin becomes too dark for you? Did you know there are white people with darker skin than black people? Did you know some black people are light-skinned to the point of almost passing for white?

Ok my tone, maybe it sounded a little racist about Vivienne but it's not (I know there are some people here who make quick judgements), it's just about being attraced physicaly, you can be friend with dwarves, elfs, black people, asians etc but not having a sexual attraction for them, so this is my point.

Scribbles could have been a totaly different character, I don't know, asian, spanish latino like Isabella or I don't know maybe a dwarve female or a Qunari female like Talis, etc etc. Right know we have 2 black females who are mages, they have at least different clothes ha ha.

Having a preference is one thing. I like strong noses on women, that's a physical preference. But saying "I don't date black people because I'm not attracted to them" is implying all black people look/act/are the exact same, and that's a racist sentiment. I think instead of being defensive you should probably asses your own feelings and try to figure out why it is you seem to think you are unattracted to an entire race of diverse people.

Now, please change this subject before this explodes.

Yes. I am attracted to skin tone

Im attracted to a lot of things. I can give you a list if you want.

Yes, there are points in which someone can be too dark that i dont find them attractive.

And yes, i did know all that, not being born yesterday.

Vivienne have a skin tone and bone structure (and attitude) I do not find particularly attractive. Scribbles is more appealing to be because I think she has a more attractive face, but i know nothing of her personality, or if she is even available.
