It comes off as having a lot of the negative traits of communism mixed with the fanaticism involved in people who violently proselytize their religion.

Also pro tip: if you feel like you can't say something without it sounding racist, it's probably racist and you shouldn't say it.

Pretty much this. I see it as very demanding and abusive, when people don't want to be in role they are in they are re-educated as failed person. There is no freedom and following qun is absolute. Also the mage thing.. and people thing mages in Circles have it bad ^^; I can't just see any good in Qun and I will probaply make many very anti-qun qunaris in my playthroughs XD

Is there anyone who isn't going to romance anybody in their first playthrough or at all? I would surprise myself if I didn't romance anybody because I have always romanced somebody in DA and in ME :D

Question: Do you think (or has it been stated and I am oblivious) there will be different romance paths like in DA2? Rivalry/friendship? Or do you think, since there are a lot more this time, that it will only be a friendship type? : )

I think there will be different relationship paths, in that a romantic relationship is one of the paths, friendship is one of the paths, indifference is one, etc, and that things will change in the story depending on the kind of relationship you have with a character. I don't think that will be separate kinds of romance, though.

Man I m talking about romances, male romances. So we have Ser.... oh no we don't... so we have Cassandra... ok why not it's the forst time we have a boyish type in DA, we have Vivienne ans Scribbles (maybe), Vivienne and Scribbles look the same.

I respect you and accept your preferences. It's who you are.

But, You said Viv and scribbles look the same because of their skin colour, is that how you view 2 different human beings in real life? Are you forgetting that these are totally different human beings, heck they have the same skin colour so they must be the same .. That's thrash talk.

Well, there's no bar this time, so I don't know if we can know for sure, at least not in-game. The thing is, nobody leaves your party in DA2 unless you do very specific things (reject any of them after their recruitment quests, don't get Isabela's friendship or rivalry high enough before the end of act 2, sell out Fenris, don't get everyone's friendship or rivalry high enough for them to side with you at the end, etc., etc.). Since it's confirmed people can leave your party in Inquisition, I'm guessing no on the rivalry front.

I've done romance-free playthrough's before, though I have no plans to do that in DA:I.

A more convincing argument, i think, would be to state that Scribbles has much softer features then Vivienne. They dont look alike at all.

If it's been confirmed then I'm not aware. I'm hoping they got rid of approval rating as it existed in the past games and made it more meaningful, romances or not.

Tell you guys and gals a funny observation.

In DA:O if your warden is a PoC, and a human nobble, the Couslands (your family) are still white..

But back tot the topic please, I sense Allan lurking.

The only confirmed romance available to me so far is Sera, and so, at the moment, it depends on her personality.  If there are other characters I can romance as a female that I like, I'll have more options, but I don't want to get my hopes up.  We'll see.

I really do enjoy Bioware games more with romances, but I can think up reasons for why my Inquisitor would be single.  She'd probably be kind of angsty and mopey, but I can work with that.

Those people break so easily once that one game doesn't cater to them, that it's not even funny at this point. And the " okay, goodbye Bioware, I'm done with you, I'll play the witcher 3 because at least it cater to guys and my tastes of women. " I don't even know where to start with this. But this is the dumbest thing I've ever read nowadays.

I wish I had more likes to give you, lol

When I made a black human noble, I just pretended she was adopted.

Yeah, but that shouldn't have been required. It was laziness on Biowares part.

If Cassandra isn't available as a love interest for female Inquisitors, I'm probably going to pretend that my first Inquisitor has an unrequited crush on her and not romance anyone else. I think it'd be cute and so far Cassandra is the only character I can see her being interested in, so... yep. c:

Sera is lesbian, that's dumb because I want her, she should be BI, it's not fair for us guys. " Or they took Sera from us guys, we lost her "  while actually Sera was always meant to be lesbian.

Make her bi and everyone will be happy. Why not ? Why is it so difficult, of course some people will be complaining if you don't do this, you know this but you don't care.

Triss is totally my type of girl in The Witcher yeah :kissing:

But this is not a reason to not buy DA3, you re being sarcastic and it's not even funny at this point. I m sure LI will be better for me and MY TASTES in ME4 but I will enjoy DA3 as a great game.

In short don't start what you can't understand, that's better for you.

I really really think straight guys needed this ( even those who aren't complaining and did nothing, because a good lesson can be applied to everyone ), given some reactions. And I'm not saying this to be sarcastic, I'm really serious, reading silently this board and noticing the comments. Life needs to teach them some lessons. I mean it's just obvious. They were too used to have everything, just look at how they are shocked as if they didn't expect this result with the set sexualities. " Sera is lesbian, that's dumb because I want her, she should be BI, it's not fair for us guys. " Or they took Sera from us guys, we lost her "  while actually Sera was always meant to be lesbian.

Basically, it's okay to have a lesbian companion, as long as it isn't something I want. And now, everyone should have Sera to be happy aparently, ( yes, because obviously all the males think the same )

Gay people shouldn't have good companions, with a good appearance apparently. Because obviously if they are attractive, then, they should be available to straight guys, because straight guys are entlitled to have everything and all the attractive female characters.

Those guys don't even have the decency to think the issue resolves more around their own tastes. Oh, she has a large jaw, oh, she has short hair, oh she's black, oh she has one scar on the face. Given their narrow opinion about what is an attractive woman, I'm not really surprised that they don't find anyone appealing to them. You can't try something new, you must give overall the same look for all the female characters over and over in all the games. Yeah no... The thing is that Bioware couldn't appeal to the tastes of every single guy on earth. It's impossible to satisfy everyone. The only thing they can do is to provide several options to each gender, trying their best to make the Lis interesting. If you don't find anyone appealing to you, you have the right to be disappointed, but stop being ridiculous, Bioware isn't unfair to you or straight guys. You are just unlucky.

I think I read somewhere that the relationships are more complex than just rivalry/friendship ones and what you do has impact on them. I'm really looking forward for this. But it also makes me wonder how does that work. Can I get stuck in a romance and for some reason It cannot be developed any further if I don't flirt with my LI all the time? I usually flirt with the LI all the time just to be sure :D Or can I have a fight with my LI and make up later? Sometimes that would be nice but because I don't know how the system really works I think I'll be too scared to try it because I'm afraid that the romance will end and I realize that after I have played like 20 hours.

It has to do with animations being too hard.

I want all the romance options to be Bisexual, but its just not going to happen.
