There's issues with Internet Explorer.

Alternatively you can put what you want within [ quote] tags (it's what I often do when I only want to respond to a slice).

Thanks. Someone very helpful showed me another work around as you can see I'm all set... for now.

Noooooooo.  That has more impact on things like race gating.  Representation, however, is something different (and something I know I value a lot more).

Sera was made a lesbian because we wanted to make her a lesbian.

Respectfully, sir, i was only quoting what you said in regards to "making everyone bisexual".

Given the comment of who i was responding to, i dont believe i was inaccurate.

I would like to hear from anyone interested in romancing the men, who your favourite is and what it is about them you like (from what little we know). At this point, I don't know what to think. I was really glad to have m/m options in DA:O and DA2 but I wasn't sold on Zevran (too slimey), Anders (plays with kittens and needs to wash his greasy hair when he's not busy murdering sweet old lady priests) OR Fenris (loved the voice, but why so broody Fen?).

I'm conflicted between Cullen and Dorian. Both look really attractive for me and they seem to have intresting personalities and stories. Well Cullen I know already though I'm sure we will get know him better in DAI, but Dorian as Tevinter magister who tries to change his homecountry sounds very intriguing as well.

Bioware has a really bad track record with me personally when it comes to male LI's. Not saying they're inherently bad, they just always have never ever appealed to me personally for multiple reasons. This game is the first where some of the men are really attractive to me, namely Blackwall, but that's assuming he's a romance. Iron Bull could be potentially pretty fun too.

Then I need to clarify and I apologize for not being clearer.  Making everyone bisexual would take more time yes, which creates a barrier to making everyone all bisexual.

But we're placing more emphasis on representation with this aspect.  Even if we had infinite time, we wouldn't have all the romanceable companions be bisexual.

Thank goodness. I hope this continues for future DA games and we never have to go back to DA:O and, especially, DAII's route.

Why do y'all make RPGs with a Romance element and not the other way around? Inquisitor of Love- Age of the "Dragon"

You are of the opinion that the DA II system will not be missed despite numerous people in this thread stating they'll miss it. How does that even work?

I have never been interested in romancing a male companion character before....aside from maybe Garrus but I digress. This time around however, I might just have a go at Dorian just to see if he's as suave as he looks. My eyes keep getting magnetically drawn to that 'stache whenever he's on-screen. The damn thing is hypnotic!

It'll have to wait til a later playthrough though. SeraxFemquisitor OTP. :pinched:

LOL pretty sure he was joking. Love - Age of the Dragon. I wonder though how well that would sell.

This is my first post do be please be nice...

Regarding modding: As a gay man who was denied Kaidan in ME1 and Alistair in DA:O, I have no problems with a straight guy/gal modding DA:I so they can romance Sera/Dorian (assuming he turns out to be the other gay character). If people see this as disrespectful or an insult to the idea of finally including a 100% gay character, I understand where they're coming from. However, I believe everyone should be able to play the game they want to play and when they play the modded version in the privacy of their own home, it has zero impact on anyone else. The fact is, Sera is still a visible gay character in a huge franchise and the first gay, romanceable companion character in a Bioware game. None of that is diminished if someone you will probably never meet mods their game and plays it the way they like it (even if it isn't the writers' vision) especially as it is something you will probably never witness.

I don't know how I feel about the male romances yet. I think some women are waaay more into Dorian/Solas/Iron Bull than I am and I wouldn't want them to miss out if the option of modding was available. I think with games that are massive in scope and beloved by  so many, developers should be encouraging the modding community like Bethesda does with their creation kits. I'd rather play an amazing game a hundred different times, modded in  a hundred ways to keep it fresh than play 100 different mediocre games.

In short, I think if the VAs recorded the lines for both sexes then they should just include them in the game files and let people get creative to keep the game fresh for them. Which is easier said than done after your 10th time through (see: me playing ME3).

As a gay woman who has never modded any romance option to be bisexual despite temptation, I have absolutely no respect for anyone who tries this with Sera. There will be options for you regardless.

I approve! Call me strange, but I actually like it when companions don't bow to the player's every whim. When companions seem to just be giving into the player's every desire (or are just too easily manipulated by the player), I find that they start feeling less like independent characters and more like dolls with witty banter.

I like the idea that my character can do a flirt with another character and be shot down on grounds of "I'm just not into you." The player character shouldn't be the centre of everyone else's universe, IMO. On that note, I hope the team did still include the flirts even for characters that can't be successfully romanced by your specific player character. The doomed Avelline romance attempt during her Act 2 quest was pretty much perfect to me.

That has nothing to do with sexuality.

This is great information, thank-you!  :wizard:

I would definitely prefer well-fleshed out *snicker* romances, that are limited to certain genders or races.

One of the best things about Bioware RPGs are their replayability (new word!). It's just another excuse to try a different character.

ETA: You mentioned adding scenes where you or your LI react to a certain situation. I just wanted to say that this is possibly even more engaging for me than the actual love scenes. Leviathan and Citadel DLCs for ME3 are great examples - just having my LI come to my rescue and say a few words about being concerned for my safety was really unexpected, immersive and .. well, just awesome.

One thing I missed in all DA titles is that for a game set in a fantasy medieval world they are surprisingly ok with homosexual romances. In Mass Effect society was long past that but in Dragon Age.

Not saying they should be stoned or something but there should be an impact. We had slavery, servitude, genocide, torture, demon worship, crusades, witch hunts, etc. but no homophobia at all.
