Even with race gating of the bi romances, I would be thrilled by this distribution.

This.  And I hate how overlooked she is.  She's the only female dwarven party member we've had in the series, outside of potentially the player.

Thinking about IB, maybe this is the (animation) compromise: Varic for the dwarves, IB for the humans/elves/qunari. This makes fans happy, and in no way reduces the work (though at least it makes figuring out the physics of an 8 foot tall qunari and a 4 foot tall dwarf dissapear).

She's overlooked because she was in DA:A, which wasn't that much of a seller and had the worst companion dialogue system basically ever.

They almost used Velanna for the Justice merger, and they brought back Nate for a quest in DA2.  So that doesn't fly for me.

Assuming they distributed evenly between men and women, 2/4/2 would give each gender 3 options if straight or gay and a whopping 6 if bi (not counting for race gating). This also means that every woman must be romanceable except Leliana (if even distribution) and that 4 guys will be and 3 guys won't be. If Cole isn't and IB and Cullen are, that would leave 2 more unavailable from Solas, Blackwall, Varric and Dorian. I really think Dorian will be romanceable. So in this completely made up scenario, who does everyone want more if you had to choose between Varric, Solas and Blackwall?

I get that she's the only dwarf companion, but even I forget about her because my first time through DA:A I got her pretty late game and then there was just never a chance to get to know her enough.

It's tragic. If she would've been romanceable, my Warden Aeducan would even ditch Leliana for her... and this is a Warden, that was played as a Saint (except preserving the Anvil. Well, he's a traditional dwarven Saint anyway).

I think your Scenario is perfectly fine, even reasonably probable. I think, of those 3 you listed, Varric is the most likely Love Interest - BUT I expect him to be heavily racegated, even possibly being only avalable for female Dwarves. If not, it must be Solas. Blackwall is too old and too tainted (from the Visuals we've seen at least: He doesn't seem to be that far away from his Calling...) to be of any use in that Regard.

The only thing I loved about Sigrun was her voice. Sigrun and Morinth had the same voice actress who I think is amazing but they never cast her as a character with any longevity. DA:A was just an expansion and she's not even present for much of it and nobody who is not evil chooses to kill Samara over Morinth (not to mention reave > dominate) and even if you do choose her, she acts exactly like Samara (with her voice actress) most of the time anyway.

Overlooked mainly by the devs.  I've seen a lot of fans, at least on the forum, show love for her.  The devs, on the other hand, seem to forget she exists.  I make sure to go get her before I get Velanna, as early as I can.    I've had plenty of elven ladies in my party, and I don't like Vel very much. Sigrun was unique.  The happiest Death Seeker I've ever met.

 

She's the only female dwarf companion in any game with the race.   That makes me sad.  We ask for dwarven romances and it's "fetishy."  Over 15 years of BioWare fantasy games and we've had only one dwarven lady as a companion.

Just not a pencil thin mustache fan.  I tend to like scruff.  I'd still romance him though if he had a personality I liked.

His facial hair is terrible. But then, I think all facial hair is intolerable, unless we're talking about 1 days worth of scruff.

Fair point about the devs. They do seem to have totally ignored her. Qunari romances, despite being decried as "fetishy" are in, so obviously that isn't a problem for Bioware. They just don't seem to even want to include female dwarves for... reasons?
