THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. Absolutely all I wanted to know. I've picked a not-at-the-top-of-likely-demographics Inquisitor. I've been worried I'd only get one option, I was worried I'd get no option at all, but knowing I've got a choice of two, whoever they turn out to be? Couldn't be happier. I just didn't want an experience where I was actually going backwards from the amount of choice I had in DA2.

Just to be clear, I know that orientation as a choice exists across races.  I don't know if it's necessarily the case for any particularly single playthrough with a particular Inquisitor.  As David said, that aspect is something that is seen as less of a requirement in terms of being equal/fair.

 

I know that's instant buzzkill, but the worst thing I want is for you to be ultra enthusiastic because I wasn't clear on what I said, because that will only lead to ultra disappointment which I definitely do not want.  Sorry!

 

 

I should probably defer a bit more since I don't know 100% of the details and I've probably already spent more time here than I should have today >.> (work work....)

Cassandra: Male Qunari only

Cullen: all races, male only.

Sera: female qunari

Scribbles: Female Qunari and male dwarves. Together. For variety

Iron Bull: everybody. However, elves and humans who sleep with him are crushed; game over, Morinth-style.

Leliania: Grey Wardens only, regardless of gender

Cole: every race and gender, providing option

Varric: Female Crossbows and male elves.

Vivienne: nobility only, every race and gender as long as they can be noble

Blackwall: Darkspawn of every race and gender

Dorian: dwarfen mages of all genders

Solas: Fade creatures; has the hots for Justice-Anders returned

 

I think I'm going to play a noble transexual mage half-qunari half-dwarf merged with a crossbow spirit. After the joining.

Ah. Fair enough then, thanks for nipping it in the bud before I got all comfortable. I'd rather know now than get a nasty shock later.

 

Like I've said in earlier posts, I've already braced myself for having to do a no-romance run with my first girl if she has nobody available to her, so I guess I'm back to where I was earlier today.

Can Qunari have ram like horns like that? That'd be cool. I'm not sure if the whole "oxmen" thing is just a label or not. Or their horns come in all shapes.

 

Given that Iron Bull's horns don't look anything like any of the qunari horns in DA2(even the Arishok's were essentially the same but bigger), I think that's a clue that yes, qunari horns come in considerable variety.

While we can only guess at the moment, six to eight is a well-informed guess.

The absolute maximum number of romances options from the companions and advisors would be ten, since we know for sure that Cole and Leliana aren't available choices. (OK, we don't know for sure that's Cole in the group shots. But does anyone really doubt it at this point?) However, only four of those ten are women. If they're going to have gender balance, that leaves us with eight. It's possible they might not have gender balance - DA2 didn't , if you count Sebastian - but nine or ten seems really high to me.

 

 

What is your source for claiming that all romance options are on the Last Supper photograph?

Why are we assuming an even gender split of LIs?

 

Six is the minimum because Mark Darrah said there were more romances in Inquisition than in previous DA games and there were five in DA2 and it's really as low as you can go while giving both straight and gay characters two choices each.

 

Two more than five is seven, but now we're getting somewhere with information. As a thank you, I'll even work with the six LI's, and even the even gender split for the purpose of this discussion.

 

Let's say that there are three males, and three females. One female is confirmed as a lesbian- for balance, let's assume one is presumed as gay.

 

What, exactly, is blocking him from having options, in the plural?
