I knew pretty much nothing about star wars (still don't really I know what Jedi and Sith are and lol vadar but that's about it) and managed just fine.

Hell, im not even really a Star Wars fan except the KotOR games.

The Weekes family is probably laughing really hard ![]()
God, Kotor was good but why all the complications in compatibility with Windows 7?!

Oh yeah it was a pain. I followed a guide (that I lost D: ) I'm not reinstalling it (in fact I haven't uninstalled it since I got it to work). NOPE. Not after that hassle. KOTOR2 thankfully is fixed the same way KOTOR 1 is.
I think I had to replace a .dll or something.
I like that even KOTOR 2s fix packs are easier to install then KOTOR.

Really? Just get it on Steam. Its easy.
So I dunno guys... KOTOR looks pretty retro. Not sure I could get over that. I mean it is 11 years old now.
Its a good game. Really. It takes some getting used to, but really it doesn't play all that differently from Dragon Age: Origins. Its age is showing a bit, but if you can look past that, its a very very enjoyable game, with a really cool story.
But, uh, this doesnt really fit this threads topic. Not that i particularly care, but moderators will.

I will probably give it a go. I'm waiting for a brand spanking new PC to be delivered but with compatability issues it sounds like I'd be better using the crappy old laptop I'm on now.
I keep checking in for new romance topics. I even suggested a few myself (like asking which voice actors people have heard in other games would they like for their LI) but not many people seemed interested. If anyone shouts OFF TOPIC! I'll shut up.
On that note, if anyone cares, my favourite voices from previous Bioware games are, in no particular order:
Kaidan (Raphael Sparge)
EDI (Tricia Helfer)*,
Steve Cortez (Matthew Del N.egro),**
Sebastian (Alec Newman),
Fenris (Gideon Emery),
Vega (Freddie Prinze Jr.),
Merril (Eve Myles)
Maya Brooks (nobody knows..),
Morinth/Sigrun (Natalia Cigliuti) and
Adm. Shala'Raan (Shoreh Aghdashloo)
and special mention to:
Loghain/Han'Gerrel/Dr. Gavin Archer/basically everyone (Simon Templeman) - but not as an LI (sorry Simon)
*If Tricia Helfer is by any chance the American femquisitor, I will cry real tears of joy.
** I want Matthew as the American manqusitor. There may or may not be tears but I want this badly.
Allan, If I am a dwarf or qunari. Will the game with more romances of BioWare?

That still has yet to be seen. Not all of the romances have been confirmed or which genders and races they'll be restricted to.
Allan, If I am a dwarf or qunari. Will the game with more romances of BioWare?
I'm not certain what you're asking, but I know Allan can't answer specific questions like this.
"If am a dwarf or qunari, will the game still have the most romances in a Bioware game?" I think was the general intent.
KOTOR is absolutely 100% worth it. The graphics and interface are a little old school now, but the game has one of the best stories in any Bioware game and the companions are really pretty amazing. It's probably my favorite game of all time. Try to look past the graphics. Trust me.
KOTOR is worth getting it a great game and its cheap you can get it on pc from amarzon for like 2 pounds.
You and the others have convinced me. I've been in a game drought since I'm stuck at home with my leg in a cast and I'm seriously all Mass Effect and Dragon Aged-out. I'm trying to play Assasin's Creed (which I just spent twenty quid on I & II) but I'm kinda over linear gameplay and bad voice acting - I don't know who plays the main character, I'm not even going to look it up, but he is B.A.D bad.
My broken leg is also why I have hijacked the thread and haven't shut up. Sorry about that everyone. Don't worry though I will be silent for the next eight hours at least and maybe after that I'll be busy playing KOTOR. I may never be heard from again...

I got both on Steam, Kotor 2 works fine but Kotor 1 crashes constantly with cut scenes on and on full-screen.
The reason KOTOR is the only BioWare game I haven't finished (other than Mass Effect 3, which I'm about to get to) is that I couldn't make it run on Vista
. It crashed at the end of Taris no matter what I did.
I do plan to give it another go now that I'm on Windows 8, but it's unusual for Windows 8 to make an old game run better.
I played it on Xbox, PC and have KOTOR on my Ipad now.You and the others have convinced me.
