Maybe theres a super secret companion
That would be pretty cool, though would suck if you could only get them near end game like Loghain.

I always think Legion myself. One of the best characters ever and you only get him for a few missions at best.
Loghain was a cool companion for sure, i got him for the first time in my last game. He just did what he felt was right for his country.

Yeah Legion too that one actually sucks for me since I really liked Legion, though you could get to know him longer you just have to let most of your crew die which is kind of lame, I'd rather you chose when to activate the IFF instead of the game doing it automatically for you.
I'm wondering if the total amount of characers romanceable by the PC for each sexual preference might actually be skewed towards one preference or another but since some characters have a racial preference, they might actually be limited.
Like for example, straight women might have one more option than the other types of romance options with Varric and Cullen but Varric only likes Dwarven women and Cullen has a preference for women around his height level (Every race but Dwarven women.). So technically, straight women can only have one option in a game.
I personally have no problem with something like this but I'm wondering what everyone else will think.
I think SSSARGS.

Agreed and from what we've heard he's a very capable general if not one of the greatest of his time, he even gave up his first love for Ferelden. Also putting him in the Wardens seemed a very fitting punishment, especially for a Human mage noble who helped Jowan.

A lot of people are speculating that only the Bi LIs will be race gated and while I'd rather do away with the race gates all together I hope that it is only the Bi LIs since I'm sure a lot of people like myself have a preferred race that they enjoy playing as and would seem unfair to have one race have a lot less available to them then other race to me at least it just screams "Aw too bad you picked the wrong race maybe you'll get it right next time!"

In the previous romance thread Mr. Gaider said things wouldn't necessarily be even, so our romance speculation doesn't need to be completely balanced to be correct. I kept trying to make things even for races, genders and sexualities but I guess that doesn't mean that much anymore ![]()
Yes. There is no guarantee that a particular gender/race combination will have as many romantic prospects as another.
And that's fine. Romance options are not candy to be dispensed fairly and evenly, and if there's a particular character that you've decided before the game is released that you must romance, it's advisable you play a different PC. The most we can do (and have done) is ensure that there's no overall slanting towards a particular group-- it's all over the map, for various reasons.

SSSARGS deserves the first S even more if this is the case. ![]()

Come on, you know you would make the same face if you could wield ultimate cosmic power...

I think that's actually the face I'll make when we find out for sure that he's an LI ![]()

I'd like to think I'd look more maniacal than that accompanied with evil laughter

One of too little sleep to much coffee crankyness?

One of unbridled joy and excitement! It'll involve a lot more mania in the unlikely event that he's also open to my femQuisitor though ![]()

I could see how that might be taken as a look of joy though looks more like movie villain joy to me but still joy none the less ![]()
There's something I've been wondering about but I doubt will be in the game since it wasn't in DAO and was semi briefly mentioned in DA2 with two of the LIs only if your romancing them with a PC of the opposite sex. Children. Will there be talk of children in DAI? Say if you and a follower are talking and they bring up family life asking your opinion on it or if you ever thought about it. Not saying that it should be where you end up with a family or you have to say yes or you'd make your LI throw a fit. Just simple talk about some things like that, I'd personally really like it if little topics like that were brought up it would be nice and allow me to put a little more personality into my PC.
I'd also wouldn't mind if they went with a past love route, I know some people might be against that having being put with someone most likely someone of the opposite sex but I think that could be easily fixed with some different answers for example.
NPC: "Inquisitor ever been in love?"
Inquisitor Option A: "Yes I have she was amazing."
Inquisitor Option B: "Yes I have he was amazing."
Inquisitor Option C: "No I have not."
Inquisitor Option D: "Mind your own business."
Something along those lines could work don't you think?

I know there won't actually be things like marriage or children in the game, so probably they won't discuss it.

Even if it isn't in there it would be nice to talk about, like in DA2 at the end if you romanced Anders he talks about living in a world where yours and his children can grow up free, and Merrill talks about kids too if you romance her with Male Hawke don't she? There was one example in NWN2 that I liked where if you rescued some kids in a port town depending on how you handled them the druid follower (her name is slipping my mind right now) may say you handled the kids well and asks if you plan on having a family someday since you seem good with children. Didn't serve much purpose but it was a nice bit of conversation.
But I'm not holding my breath for something like that to be in the game though I think it would be nice if it was.

Merrill hints that part of her misgivings may be because they could produce a child, yes.
To me, having talks like that in the game without having that in the game is salt in the wound. DA2 was fine since they leave together.

Could you elaborate why you'd feel that way please? I think it seems pretty reasonable that your PC or their LI couldn't have a child or adopt while the Fade tears are a thing but they could very well have a family at the end game it would be in the player's mind of course which I could see not being satisfying but most players come up with things like that for their own endings with their Hawkes and Wardens anyway so why not with the Inquisitor too, just have little mentions of it in the game if you so choose.

I want to be able to get married in one of these games because I don't like sex before marriage but have no choice but to keep doing it. And anyone who you can marry either happens in the Epilogue or in Sebastian's case is a chaste marriage. After a while, headcanon isn't enough. Especially if the LI discusses it in the game.

I dont remember that at all.
