I feel we can be pretty sure that Cullen is straight, simply because he digs the Lady Amell but not the Gentleman one. I'm the same with him, though, I get the feeling his romance could be legendary, but I just don't know enough about him to be as excited as others.

I love Sera so far and I'm crossing my fingers that being best gal pals with her won't lock in any kind of romance, unlike a certain red haired bard who's hair I no long compliment out of fear

Oh Maker no please no, I really do not want Cullen to be straight I'd rather have him bi. Might be for entirely selfish reasons. I just can not get into his character and I'd rather not have him take up the straight male LI slot I'd rather that be filled by a new character.

I really am the only one she does not ninjamance it seems even when I do compliment her hair it seems , but agreed I hope we can get friendly with possible LIs without having to lock in a romance or getting ninjamanced.

As a guy, being comfortable enough in your early 20s to hit on women and not men doesn't make one straight.  Plenty of folks come out later in life all the time.  I'm not saying Cullen is bisexual, but we can't assume he's straight just because he's only hit on women.

Anders was written as bisexual from the start, but stayed in the closet until later.  I loved DG's comment about Anders "pinging like an aircraft carrier."

http://dgaider.tumbl...ions-on-anders

There is also plenty of bisexual men that stay in the closet.  Even in Thedas, Anders wasn't comfortable enough to tell a lady Hawke about Karl, which was the writers excuse for female PCs not knowing about it.

Sera could be another Tali/Morrigan/Merrill character for me: I consider these characters more like my PC's "soul sisters," and have really awesome friendships to the point where I'm very unlikely to romance them.  Sera really reminds me of some of my ex-girlfriends, that were amazing and vibrant women that crushed my heart to tiny pieces.  I think my feelings about keeping her as a dear friend and not pursing her as a LI might come from that.

Ahh, that's a good point. Sexuality is fairly fluid, after all. He's got such a huge fan base I'm hoping on behalf of the people who want to romance him that they can

Glad to know I'm not the only one who got tricked into a Leliana romance... multiple times... :P

At least in origins it was easier to end a romance and not have it effect your other ones if you accidentally flirted with someone else.

I expect that we'll have two bisexual companions, one male and one female.

Same here.  I went into his fan thread and said a heartfelt congrats to his fans when his LI status was announced.   :D

That whole thread is so cute and excitable.

Brolationships with companions are just as important to me as romances, to be honest. I could never romance Garrus in ME because of it. I get the feeling I'll be the same when it comes to Varric (But, once again, he has so many fans that I'd love for them to be able to woo him). Morrigan's friendship path is extremely rewarding. Hopefully there'll be some awesome friendships along with the romances in DAI.

Yes. I'm really hoping for a friendship like I had with Garrus in ME. I can't think of anything that beats that one for me, personally. I felt pretty close to Leliana and Isabela and Varric, but that friendship was just so special without needing any romance to be great.

Yep for me they are as well. Garrus felt actually more important for my Shep than Kaidan who she was romancing ^^; I just loved their friendship. I hope DAI gives us as amazing frienship than that was, maybe with cutscenes and all XD

I'd say out of all the companions I've met in the ME and DA games, the friendships with Tali, Garrus, Varric, Shale and 'Bela are my favorites.

Ah, how could I forget Shale?? I made pigeon jokes for years thanks to that loveable golem. Tali is a great one too, pretty much my best girlfriend in the series along with Garrus being my best guy.

I'd recommend reading Asunder.  Shale does appear and let's just say that while her inclusion is small, it's very memorable for fans of hers like us.

Here's a bit of trivia:  When DG was asked which character he's written is most like him, he said it was Shale.  Explains a few things, don't it?  ;)

So he used to be a Female Dwarf? It all makes sense now!  :o

Yeah, I'm looking forward to a bromance with Varric, Iron Bull and Dorian. Also, in a funny, flirty-but-leads-no-where relationship with Sera :)

Yeah, obviously David Gaider likes wearing crystals into battle.

I know, but think about it. Gaider doesn't seem to like Dwarf romances, but that is all just a cover. Gaider is really hoarding all the Dwarf romances for himself.

Most Dwarven relationships seem to be either passionate flings or powerplays. *shrug* Dwarves are like Orlesians with their "Game," only much more direct about it.

That wouldn't apply to a surface dwarf and if memory serves, that's what the Cadash Quizzy is going to be.  I'm not sure if it's just that one member of the line, or if the entire house Cadash is now on the surface.  That also wouldn't apply to Varric either.  ;)

Because noone maintains cultural tradition when they move to a new place, or hold their descendents to expectations their ancestors had. xD

That isn't to say i think dwarves are incapable of traditional love, just that it's less common, and they're less likely to be pressured into it.

Ah okay then apologies for my over reaction^^;

But that Gorim Lady Aeducan semi romance was amazingly sweet and proof that there should be a dwarf romance darn it (especially if its with a character like Sigrun  )

Of course, no one ever takes those beliefs and adds to their current experiences.  Especially after a few generations.   :P

Seriously, I think it's been long enough to where some parts just don't matter anymore, and love/romance is likely one of them.  Varric, for instance, does have a lot of respect for his ancestors.  It really shows itself during the Legacy DLC, when you find the letters from Tethras.  He also thinks that they were too rigid and too corrupt as well.  He even hates dealing with the Merchants Guild because of it.  While I obviously don't think all surface dwarves are like Varric, he strikes me as a decent example of the attitudes of one.

And that's after only one generation on the surface.  Shoot, not even a full generation; his older brother was born below ground.

I think merchant and noble dwarves are more pressured into marriage than just about anyone save the city elves.  They're really pressured to have kids as well, and there isn't a lot of babies running around out of wedlock.  Well, out of the few that are running around.  The casteless are a different subject altogether.

You could say the same thing about most human nobles, I think. Regardless house Cadash were warriors not nobles and would likely behave differently.
