I'd just as soon DA avoided pregnancy stuff unless it's as plot relevant as Morrigan's was.

Where did you see this?  What's it in reference to?

Allan told us his favourite part of the blooper reel entirely in [REDACTED].  He said that he'd tell us what it was after the game comes out if we remember and ask him about it.

EDIT:

I've seen some hilarious romance ones too, where [REDACTED] goes to [REDACTED] with [REDACTED] and the cinematic designer spliced in a humourous sound to call it out!

I didn't like the pregnancy thing in origins. as a female you were forced to persuade your boyfriend alistar to have sex with morrigan in order to get the best ending. and as a homosexual gamer you couldn't enjoy this content as much as a heterosexual who'd love morrigan.

I'm a gay male and I didn't have a problem with the content at all. I thought the idea of a possible heir floating around with this background was very interesting. I liked the idea of the OGB being Alistair's better from a narrative standpoint overall. Depending on how you view the content, I don't necessarily think the hetero male romance path with the DR is definitely the most interesting path. The situation definitely didn't favor females that romanced Alistair, though.

I don't care if they never do another pregnancy bit, personally. That's just as well, to me. If they do, though, I hope it's at least heavily plot relevant. That's basically all I meant.

okay, I think it's a matter of taste. but as for me, I'm gay too, and I really hate this content :/ One reason why I prefered  DA2 .

If you wanted to have you both live yeah that sucked but you did always have the option to just turn the whole thing down. I thought if you played a male you could still have Alistair or Loghain do the DR with Morrigan instead?

yes, but I didn't feel as connected to the whole thing as I would have felt if I was straight and in love with Morrigan. Morrign wasn't only plot relevant, she was also of great importance to get the best ending. I missed that with Zevran. He was just there...well, and that was it. Sorry, I'm not good at explaining.

No I see what you mean now and I get it, in the DR situation it was best experienced if you were in a romance with Morrigan and sending Alistair to her just felt wrong to me so something like that for me at least seems less like ''happy' ending' and more like 'more Morrigan romance content'.

I'm gay, my warden was gay and when Morrigan first told me about the Dark Ritual, I was like "Hell NO!", but then I didn't want my warden or Alistair to die, so I went and spoke to Alistair and he reeeeeally didn't want to do it. I guess I must have been really into the RP element at this point because I just couldn't ask my best friend and unrequited love to sleep with a woman he despised so I just bit the bullet and did it. It bothered me though that my warden was apparently really into it and it was all romancey with music playing when this should've been a quick business transaction... It was awkward to watch and I spent the whole time looking at Morrigan's bra thinking:

That's a really nice bra for someone that lived in a ramshackle hut in the middle of the Kocari Wilds. That's like some Angent Provocateur sh*t right there. Is it Orlesian? How much did it cost? Are we done yet?

All that said though, it was women who got the raw end of the deal here because their wardens were denied having an Old God Baby, and who doesn't want one of those?

ETA: Actually, why was she even earing a bra? Suddenly she's all modest?

Going to fight darkspawn? No bra for me!

Sex with the warden? Don't look at me, I'm shy...

Maybe it was the way you designed the face, but for the Wardens I created, they had a look of sheer worry and terror on their face during that supposed romance scene. I wish I could find a save of that playthrough to post a screenshot - it pretty much looked like my Warden was being assaulted.

Yeah, it was always so much fun talking Alistair into having sex with Morrigan, especially because he was always my LI choice. *shudder* I refused the first time around and learned the hard way that apparently I should have let the creepy witch whose intentions I wasn't sure of have her way with him for a "happy" ending. xD Argh. My only real complaint about DA:O.

I feel with you. This must be horrible. I really hated the whole baby thing they implemented. The only true winner were straight male gamers who were in a relationship with morrigan. and thanks to the dlc witch hunt they also had the possibility to reunite with her and the child (which is okay, I'm glad they reunited with morrigan....but I can't stand the whole pregnancy thing).

First time around I told her no as well then nearly threw my controller when Alistair took the blow for me despite him being needed as the damned king ^^;;

Only time I actually enjoyed doing the DR (not counting times I romanced Morrigan) was with my Mage run where I didn't kill Loghain now that was amusing to watch

I do kind of agree with that though I felt the DLC was rewarding anyway even if you didn't romance her especially if you were a female warden who was in a close friendship with her :')

But with Morrigan and the DR it does have some feeling of it being the 'correct' romance to it which I never like in games there should never be a 'correct' romance with optional and varied choices of romances.

Have your best friend die or have a child with me, also btw I'm leaving you and you'll never see me again is not a happy ending as a straight guy.

I mean, I suppose if you want kids it's not so bad, but for me it was pretty much one of those IRL - if you want to stay with me and love me you'll have kids despite your wishes.

I always asked Alistair to do it and I didn't feel that bad. I mean, it's either this or one of us died. It's not like I threatened him, or anything, so I don't feel like I was being that hard on him. I feel like he agreed in the end that it was an acceptable sacrifice for our lives, even if he wasn't interested in Morrigan and was difficult about it. Alistair was like my BFF character in Origins and it felt like we always had a, "WHAT DID YOU GET ME INTO NOW", sort of thing going on with his side, but we worked. He balanced out my LI as Zevran that just encouraged my already chaotic, somewhat self-interested character to just be even more so. lol

Yeah it's just very... awkward. Romancing him adds a kind of "insult to injury" thing, but even just asking your friend/companion suddenly in the middle of the night "hey, will you bang this chick to save us all?" -- So weird. I have to agree a male Warden/Morrigan is easily the least uncomfortable path through it, which I never did myself so I never really got to experience. xD

Yeah, Alistair took the blow for me as well... and I was just staring at my screen with this dumb look like "NOOOO, I WOULD HAVE RATHER DIED. YOU DIED BECAUSE I REFUSED A CREEPY SEX RITUAL! IT'S ALL MY FAULT!"

And from then on, I always bit the bullet and just... did it. x_x

yes, that was one of the problems I had with the whole morrigan thing. not only was morrigan the smartest companion in the game, she also knew things about the world that other people didn't see. She wasn't manipulated by the fade, she knew about the dark ritual, she said by herself to know more about the world than other people do. and she was really plot relevant and of great importance when it comes to the best ending. and she'll have a great story line in DAI as well. Zevran however wasn't of great importance. You could kill him if you want to. And look, what they did to his face in DA2 was really an insult. and he was just a cameo without great plans for the future.

Agreed it's always uncomfortable when you look at it like that which is one of the main reasons I never like to pimp Alistair out to Morrigan when in a romance since you're basically telling him 'if you love me you'll do this' and Morrigan does do the same to a warden she's romancing only its more of a 'if you love me and want to stay alive like I want you too then you'll do this'. I wouldn't really call the DR a happy ending just an everyone lives ending which isn't always the same thing.

This is why if they are going to make 'plot important' followers then they really shouldn't be romances since it seems they get favored as the 'correct' romance, either make the non plot important characters content just as much and as meaningful or just leave the plot important characters off the romance table all together. I hate it when I get attached to a character and their romance and it's 'lesser' compared to the 'correct' romances. :/

Agreed I hated doing that it felt way to manipulative to me and really just wrong, if you really love someone you aren't going to use a line like that to get them to do something like that.

Fenris was the Zevran of DA2. Neither of them had anything particularly plot relevant going on that would be missed if they were totally excised from the plot, which.. basically they easily COULD be, since they were optional. Fenris even more so, since at least you can't totally miss Zevran. Male elves haven't got the best treatment. Good luck Solas.
