I think it's hard-written into the Dwarf Inquisitor's contract that there must be a stool or step-ladder in every room in Skyhold and every tent in encampments. For practical reasons. Sexy practical reasons.

I wonder if we'll get a male Bi LI that seems to prefer the company of men more to women, since most of the Bi LI's seem to prefer women in past games, Zeveran, Isabela, Leliana. At least it seemed to me that they preferred women though I can't speak for Anders, Fenris or Merrill since I don't do Male Hawke playthroughs very often and when I do them I usually romance Merrill (never romanced her with a female hawke before) So I might be seeing something in nothing, and running on little sleep could make me lack in sense so I apologize if I'm just spitting out gibberish right now. Guess those three stood out in my mind for some reason when I think Bi LIs not really sure why though and at least to me they all seem to prefer women.

I know there are others who see these preferences in previous bi companions. It is not something I see as being real having romanced them with protagonists of both genders.

I think Anders had a relationship with a male mage who was turned into a tranquil. Not sure whether that was a matter preference or convenience.

Anders is a confusing one. He was my first ever romance in DA2 (with a male Hawke). I hadn't played Awakening so knew nothing about him except that he seemed super gay in all his mannerisms and kitten-loving. He told me when I came on to him that he's been with the mage Karl (who we'd just killed) when he was in the circle but he seemed reluctant to admit it; like it was a taboo or something. I'm paraphrasing but he said something along the lines of: "You can't help who you fall in love with. I'm attracted to someone's soul not their bodies" and I was like "chill, dude. I like guys too. I just told you you were hot [even though you need to wash your greasy hair and get some sunlight] so enough with all the internal drama. This is The Free Marches, not Texas, they love the gays here!". Aaaanyway... when I eventually played Awakening, he was constantly going on and on about beautiful women every time Velanna was in the party. So I guess he was a closet bi in awakening and then came out to friends in DA2.

To the poster who wonders if there are bi characters that prefer men over women: I'd say Anders gives me that vibe but he never explicitly says anything like Zev (apparently) does. If Zev had said anything like that to me, I totally would have left him on the side of the road.

Anders is tough to place in this way because apparently his male and female romances are different enough that it gives two different impressions about him.  A female PC might never even realize that he is bisexual, apparently.  Add this to his female preference in DA: A and it seems like he has a preference for ladies.  However, a male PC gets to hear about his past with Karl and little about women, so it's a tough call. 

 

Fenris doesn't really give an impression of a preference either way.  He speaks almost nothing about his past or his preferences.  However, the fact that he ends up with Isabela if you are romancing neither of them, makes me wonder if he was intended to have a female preference too.

 

I would really like a bi male who has a male preference, personally.  It's so rarely represented in media that it would be really refreshing.  I'm not sure if I'm getting that vibe from IB, but I'm holding out hope.

He does, yeah. Can't remember if it's a romance-only conversation, but it definitely came up as a topic when my (male) Tabris was with him.

That's why I used those three as examples since they were the only ones I could say about that fairly having romanced them with both genders, like I said it could just be me seeing this, aside from Zevran since you can inquire about him and there is a conversation where he does mention he prefers women to men and it is something I've seen a couple people complain about. But aside from Zevran as far as I know no other Bi LI that states they prefer one gender over the other. It was just an impression I got.

As I said I couldn't speak for Anders or Fenris since I haven't romanced them as male Hawke so I'm not really show that the romance differs with little bits of extra dialog or more caring dialog like Isabela does with a female Hawke compared to a male Hawke. Anders I would agree does seem like a tougher call since he is more comfortable talking about Karl to a male Hawke than Female though I"m not sure his romance differs. So Fenris really doesn't talk about preference then or act that much different in a romance compared to male than female? Guess aside you could say that Fernis does prefer women if you count him hooking up with Isabela but having never got those conversations myself in any of my games I'm guessing its not a huge thing?

 

That's mainly why I asked for one I can't think of one time I've seen a male character that was Bi that preferred his own gender but I can think of female bi characters that do, and it would be nice to see a change I'm not asking the LI to telling me that they prefer the other gender compared to mine (like Zev did) but little changes in the romance depending on  your gender would be a nice indication (Like Isabela). It just would be nice to see

Thanks, I hardly play as male Hawke mostly due to the voice acting so I've yet to get around to many of my male playthroughs, I don't need to have them spell out that they like one more than the other subtle hints or little changes in dialog would be nice like Anders telling a male Hawke about Karl compared to a female one or Isabela getting more jealous over a female Hawke than a male one. Yeah I tried to romance him in my second playthrough with a male human it didn't really feel good for him to tell a guy that had been flirting with him that he preferred women, it actually made me look it up online to confirm he was Bi for sure since I took it as him turning my Warden down^^;

I don't really feel like I can guess what race gating will be like right now. IB is probably gated against "smaller" races, like dwarves and maybe elves. I honestly don't know who else.

Since race-gating was put in to limit the number of cutscenes, my speculation is that they will restrict the bisexual LI to two races only, while the others will only have gender-gating. This way every LI has 4 different versions of their romance scenes.

Orlesians like exploiting other people's scandals, not creating scandals they're involved in.
