I hope they will release the chart once all the major characters are officially introduced. I realize that it would just confirm some people's fears, but I think it would set most people at ease. If every demographic has an equal 2-3 choices, and I suspect they do, then I think most people will like at least one of their options. I think most of the panic is in the unknown. So, hopefully they will get to this when they're done with the character profiles.

Nope I was mentioning how I was damned tired of the females getting all the soon to kick the bucket terribly LIs and I was tired of it. Period. That was my argument. Him being bi? Fine whatever (Still don't want but it wouldn't sting as bad). I did not want him as the f/m exclusive option because I found the "I'm dying" trope to be overdone and tiresome. And no it's not just by BW. BW didn't use it that often. I'm tired of it in general. Especially since it's always the f/m options that are saddled with it. Not the m/f. I would take the bastard boyfriend over it at this point. That's how sick of it I am.
Ares already said it. He was a warden since DAO times. Which means he's getting on in 10 years. Wardens don't seem to last much longer than that on average.
And you have every right to feel that way I wasn't trying to say otherwise I'm sorry if you thought I was. I personally have only seen the 'I'm dying' thing with Thane to be honest and stuff like that I guess just doesn't bother me much if I like the character or something about the character. I don't doubt its a trope and that many people are tired of it I suppose I just haven't seen it enough to grow sick of it or be bothered by it like some have. Course I may not see that too often due to usually watching cheap SciFci movies which don't have a ton of that aside from the 'she's doom to die because its destiny' or 'she'll keep dying until you forfill your destiny' here and there. I apologize for any misunderstand I may have caused with my earlier posts before.
I must have missed their post then.

I'm trying really hard to remember when they announced DA2's romances. I definitely followed the forums up until it's release but I have a horrible sense of time. I don't personally think they'll announce all of them at once any time soon. Maybe one at a time slowly and then in September they'll release the alleged chart with the race restrictions included.

So straight women get Cullen which is nice. If they would also get Blackwall who is most likely to be close to his calling then I would be a little bit dissappointed because he is more likely to die soon.

They announced DA2's romances on Valentine's Day, about a month before the game was released.

Yeah sorry. I was getting annoyed having to repeat myself and snapped at you. Sorries ![]()
Oh I don't know I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one tired of doomed romance thing. But yeah I didn't like it to begin with. Much like Carth Syndrome it doesn't need to pop up that many times to be completely aggravating.

So... Cullen is still an option for your straight romance, yes? Even if he is bi.
Also Cullen's not that much better considering what the end result of Lyrium addiction is shown in DAO. He beats out Blackwall tho.
I'm also tired of doomed romances.
Yeah if they were more evenly spread out among m/f and f/m options then yeah whatever it probably wouldn't bother me so much. But they're not.

I don't think at all Blackwall will be an LI. He's a grey warden, he's old. No given that Solas has a beautiful face, he will be along with Cullen and Dorian as LI for me. ![]()

S'all good we just both didn't get what the other one was trying to say it seems ![]()
I don't doubt that at all I was merely speaking for myself like I said I see stuff like that mostly in SciFci movies and its almost always the woman dying not the man at least in the ones I've seen. Not entirely sure what Carth Syndrome is though but I hear that used a lot on here. That's when a LI keeps comparing you to a love they lost right? If so I hope there are no LIs like that I don't like feeling like I'm a silver medal much^^

Fair enough XD
Carth Syndrome is the whole dead spouse thing. Jaheria was actually the original version but Carth took it up to 11 by having a bratty kid that got an attitude at you on his way to the DS. And Sky topped that with a dead kid and comparisons to the dead wife. Then Thane topped that by having a perfect memory of all the time with his dead wife and a bratty kid on the way to the DS.

Yup. That's why in DAI we'll found out that Alistair followed his father's and brother's steps, Morrigan enjoys the company of the young servants in val Rouyeaux, Leliana doesn't care of the Warden anymore, Zevran fell in his old way, Merrill decided to find a new clan and marry a dalish, and Fenris and Isabela have a casual sex relationship even when romancedBioWare is not tired of doomed romances.

I'm in the camp that thinks Solas is a more likely LI than Blackwall. He's an elf in the 25-35 year range and he's fairly attractive. Sure, it's possible that doesn't qualify him as an LI, but it makes a relatively good case.

Eh, Zevran was already bugged and forgot about his (alive) Warden in DA2, so him doing the same in DAI would be par for the course!

I'll be honest, if my character "disappeared" 10 years ago, I'm pretty alright with the Origins guys moving on. That's just me, though. I mean, it's kind of weird to expect them to pine until they die.

Cripes that sounds annoying as hell, if someone's got a love one that they lost that's fine, if they move on but still have a spot in their heart for their past love that's fine, if they keep bringing up the lost love and make comparisons that's not fine. Yeah I wouldn't want to see that in any romance in DAI.

We don't know if they disappeated that long ago though. I mean, if you are Queen with Alistair then you've been gone at most three years. Whose to say it wasn't that way overall?

The Warden didn't disappear 10 years ago though. King Al and the Warden have a relationship in Act 3. Morrigan and the Warden might've went in the Eluvian together.I'll be honest, if my character "disappeared" 10 years ago, I'm pretty alright with the Origins guys moving on. That's just me, though. I still think its weird that the Warden just upped and left without saying anything to them though, but since they did I wouldn't be upset with old DAO LIs moving on either though I expect Morrigan to still have that kid of hers in the saves I romanced her in unless she gave him to the Warden and told him that the kid was his problem now.
