I'll be honest, if my character "disappeared" 10 years ago, I'm pretty alright with the Origins guys moving on. That's just me, though. I mean, it's kind of weird to expect them to pine until they die.

Is it 10 years? I always imagined that my wardens disappeared somewhere near the end of DA2 or after it.

Yup. That's why in DAI we'll found out that Alistair followed his father's and brother's steps, Morrigan enjoys the company of the young servants in val Rouyeaux, Leliana doesn't care of the Warden anymore, Zevran fell in his old way, Merrill decided to find a new clan and marry a dalish, and Fenris and Isabela have a casual sex relationship even when romanced  .

There was an absolutely hilarious joke I wanted to make here, involving a pun on the English translation of al Qaeda's name, but I don't know the Arabic for "the Fanbase."

If my partner disappeared even one year ago, I would figure it was time to move on. Maybe I'm just not a very good person.

Fair enough XD

Carth Syndrome is the whole dead spouse thing. Jaheria was actually the original version but Carth took it up to 11 by having a bratty kid that got an attitude at you on his way to the DS. And Sky topped that with a dead kid and comparisons to the dead wife. Then Thane topped that by having a perfect memory of all the time with his dead wife and a bratty kid on the way to the DS.

To top off Carth's angst:  His wife (his whole planet, really) was destroyed by his former commanding officer and friend.  So on top of it all, he blamed himself for what happened by not seeing the betrayal coming.  Which leads to suspicion towards his new commanding officer and friend (ie you)

I honestly agree with you, if my Warden is "gone" and has been for some time, I'd rather my LI move on instead of pining endlessly. That just makes them sort of pathetic.

It could also be possible that the LIs know where their partners are. They just don't tell it to anybody. And I'm assuming that my LIs don't forget my PC :)

My random thoughts for now:

Dorian - newly confirmed gay (*Representation high fives all around*)

Cullen - straight
Solas - bi

Iron Bull - race gated bi.
Varric - race gated straight.

Cassandra - straight

Sera - confirmed lesbian

Viv - bi

Scribbles - ????

Also note, this isn't necessarily what I'd like, just something like what I think we'll be looking at.  :P

Zevran: Sorry if I forgot we were in a relationship and cheated on you with Hawke and Isabela back in Kirkwall,  I was under a kot of stress at the time.

With apologies to Conrad Verner :D

bwhaahaha

Of course, I actually sort of LIKED the bug in some playthroughs, because it means I could keep the Isabella & Zevran bang the protagonist streak going. Which I hope I can do in DAI because I am a weirdo.

Well, Leliana refers to the (romanced) Warden in the present tense as "dear to my heart" and King Alistair refers to the Warden being in Denerim in Act 3 of DA2, which is 9:37 Dragon.  So the Warden disappeared at most, three years ago, since DAI is in 9:40

Unless they trot out some hot male LI....all of my quzzies are doomed to be single. Not a great feeling.

Reminds me of Mal and Zoe in Serenity, even if they were just friends:

Mal: Remember, if anything happens to me, or you don't hear from me within the hour... you take this ship and you come and you rescue me.

Zoe: What?  And risk my ship?

Mal: I mean it.  It's cold out there.  I don't wanna get left.

Three years at most sounds a lot better than 10 years :) So my LIs are more likely to be searching for my PC if she didn't tell them where she went :)

So Dorian is gay, guess that confirm him as gay only romance option, as oppose to Sera who is les only. Seems like 2/2/2 theory might be true after all

So far we have

Cullen, Cassandra - romance options, not sure if bi or gender specific.

Sera, Dorian - as Les and Gay only romance options (Dorian has not yet been confirmed but is very likely)

Iron Bull - possible bi romance option

did I miss anything?

Iron Bull - race gated bi.

Varric - race gated straight.

Not sure about the Varric thing

Straight and gay options are available only for some sexes, maybe the bi options are only available for some races.

For example:

Varric - Bi, but only dwarf and elves

Iron Bull- Bi. only human qunari

Meh I plan my characters early. If the LIs don't fit they don't fit. I'll either find another LI or have them romance their hand. No big loss.

That's the right attitude. I was thinking of romancing Iron Bull with my Dwarf in my 2nd playthrough (if possible). If I can't then I'll have my Qunari romance him then have my Dwarf romance Cassandra (again, if possible).

Same.

Zevran pining after the warden after 6 years wasn't romantic it was sad. Leliana deciding to kill herself after my warden did the US made me flip tables (Thank ra that was retconned).

Poor straight people. Maybe they should get a taste of how it feels to have so few options.

The solution to Bioware's failure to offer equal inclusive content is not to turn around and fail to offer equal inclusive content, but this time in favour if another group.

Even if we accept that it's not as bad to cheat a historically advantaged group, it's still a failure to be inclusive. If we take inclusiveness seriously, we have to be worried about any time a developer fails to be inclusive.

I'm sure I'll fine something to like about the available options.  I'm bound to pick on of 'em out.

We don't know if the Warden has disappeared yet, that could still be in the future in DAI  :)

Edit:  Gawd, I know I talk a lot of rubbish a lot of the time... but especially so when I'm tired lol.

I don't think Iron bull will be race gated, that seems kind of against his character who wants to try everything. Who else is thinking we will get a Li confirm on Solas soon?

Relax, you'll get yours soon enough. They're just building hype and extracting joy from everyone who was anticipating this.

Yeah but he only sleeps with those he won't break which suggests race gating to me.  I would be happy if he was race gated to Qunari only but I know that's not a popular view.  I hope there's at least something on Solas soon!

Well, truth is I'm more disappointed than I thought I'd be about missing the male LI written by DG. :( :(  :(  I'm so disappointed, I'm even considering a male playthrough  :D  but, meh... my experience so far is that playing as a guy sucks just as much as youtubing... I hope Cassandra is bi  :crying:
