I don't think it's ever been confirmed that David Gaider wrote Cullen.
Indeed. All we know is that he's writing Cass and Dorian (squee!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Thats fine Allan but people should not start on me cause i am. I have the right to give my feedback to stuff i like and dont. Just seems cause im a straight man thats a bad thing on here.
You being a straight male isn't the issue.
The issue is the whole 'gay (guys) are icky and gross and make me uncomfortable so they shouldn't include things like guys flirting with me'. You didn't word it exactly this way, but that's how it comes across and it is incredibly annoying and tiresome to see it.
Hmmm. You have a decent point there. It'll really be highly dependent on the game itself... I don't think I can make a final decision here.
I think some of our assumptions will turn out to be wrong; we can't anticipate everything, and we're bound to run into some surprises. I'm still hoping my Dalish Inquisitor can help the People. If an elven perspective is diluted to focus primarily on human narratives, I'll be disappointed. Sera might surprise you, you never know. ![]()
Indeed, but I'd really want to see and experience their society first. I want to be able to feel the roots of my PC.
The story might start off close to the cataclysm that leads to the protagonist becoming the Inquisitor, since there don't seem to be 'Origins' for the different racial backgrounds. You might have to use their imagination to fill in the blanks, although there may be some dialogue options to help shape the kind of things that your Inquisitor has seen and done. I think you can create a kickass Vashoth. ![]()
Sheryl wrote him in DA:O. I wouldn't be surprised if she did the same in DA:I.
I was thinking the same thing. It's quite likely at this point.
Well the only character I was interested in for a FQuizzy based on looks (and personality from the interview) was Dorian. So that's kind of sad (dashing? witty? powerful? handsome? What is there not to love?). But that's okay....MQuizzy here I come!
Otherwise at this point I have no real opinion since none of the other male characters are all that interesting to me as a LI based on looks, or personality.
Blackwall the beefcake......I could go for as a second choice. I like facial hair and the lumberjack look. But for some reason I don't think he's going to be a romance option.
Guess now it's down to picking someone based on 'personality'....so I'm *really* hoping for Nicholas Cage Solas to be interesting.
And I'm not at all interested in Cullen as a LI, so here's to hoping he's not the only 'fully' straight option for female players.

No, I'm a straight man. Many people here seem to like me (though I'm sure not all) so I don't think being straight makes yourself unliked.
I'm saying you need to ask yourself why it makes you feel uncomfortable, because I believe it's an internal challenge for yourself. I have no interest in being in a relationship with another man. If one flirts with me I'll more than likely be completely oblivious to it... but if they're clear that they want more than friendship, I simply let them know that I am not interested.
Well it a bad thing for me people start on me cause of my input.
If you'd like we can take this to PM, because I think the issue many have with your post is that you're implying a degree of judgment against gay people.

I swear I heard somewhere that Gaider took over. Ah well...
Who knows, maybe he is referring to Scribbles. Maybe Gaider wrote her. Only one to find out, and that is to release her interview. ![]()

I always thought Cullen. He did take over writing him after Jennifer Helper left. And Cullen is a character that everyone seems to think is straight since he only showed interest in female Amell/Surana yet has a huge fanbase of men and women.

Is there such a thing at all? I mean, do we have any evidence of there being a culture of qunari expatriots?
Given that the Inquisitor was born into it, it seems probable.

I'm optimistic about the game as a whole; I'm sure I'll find someone to love.

I already have one in mind; I think she'd be the one more highly focused on freedom as an abstract notion, and thus more invested in the mage rebellion than my Dalish... though even she might veer away from my expectations. A lot, too, will depend on aesthetics; whether I prefer a slight mage woman or a large, horned mage woman as head of the Inquisition, and I can't yet decide.

Funny i make one comment then everyone has a go at me for my opinion. But if a women or gay had asked for things to be changed that would make them feel uncomfortable that would be allright. But mine is a big no no

Why not both? Have her get the quote card like every companion but Solas(and Cassandra for some reason) got, then the next day have the interview. ![]()
Solas and Cullen! I seriously can't wait to hear more about Solas next week though. I know a lot of people don't seem to think he'll be a romance option, but I'm really hoping he is.
Interested in IB as well.
I have a feeling he will be. Can't wait to find out.

But if a women or gay
Yeah, I kind of doubt your straight guyitude is the only reason.
I don't think it's ever been confirmed that David Gaider wrote Cullen.
It was assumed that Gaider wrote Cassandra (companion+romance), Cole (companion) and Cullen (romance), that made 2 companions and 2 romances. Of course that theory blew up with the Cole reveal....
Rather an odd opinion, given that Allan himself is a straight man...

I meant the Vashoth society.
I'm planning to romance Sera with a Dalish rift mage, and a qunari Necromancer ![]()

I don't think Vashoth really have their own society. Far as I'm aware they just loosely integrate into non-qun societies.
I am often confused by the number of times who say their PC will or won't or wouldn't or what-have-you. Do many people play the game one time, with one race/class/origin/romance combo?
Right now I just know I'm playing a saarabas first, and later a dwarf rogue. My saarabas' romances will be male, and that's as far as I have decided, but my dwarf rogue, as a later play through, will probably have some more thought put in.
Our games are about allowing the player choice to respond to events. Anders' action is one such thing, and you are given a choice to respond.
If your preference is to insulate yourself from this sort of stuff, then it's possible that you either need to reflect to a point where that's less of an issue, or reevaluate the game. The game does not bend to the will of the player, and events will happen outside of the player's control for a wide variety of topics.
Fair point and strongly agree, though the Ander's situation wouldn't be the best example that I'd pick from the series. It's mechanics and progression were all dependent on everyone involved taking an idiot ball just to for drama fuel and came off as forced.
Long story short and to tie it back into the topic, I don't think that there's nothing wrong with having stuff outside of player control. Just as long as it doesn't seem forced or thrown in just for the sheer sake of "trolling". Morrigan's arc rather romanced or not was still really good with Morrigan being her own character and not conforming to the player's will. She had her own agenda and stuck to it regardless of how she eventually and honestly came to fall for a warden that romanced her. All without giving anyone the "Idiot Ball" just for the sake of drama.

He's offered to talk to you in private, because he respects your opinions. I'd suggest taking him up on it. ![]()
Also, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but there are plenty of straight men in various romance/LI threads giving their opinion all the time. The difference is that you came off as rather combative, whereas most of the straight guys that post are very respectful. Rather than complain that no one is listening to you, try talking to Allan via PM. He's a very cool guy, and he'll give you a fair shot.
Yeah, I kind of doubt your straight guyitude is the only reason.
See what i mean mate you defend the others but keep taking digs at me its getting boring.

Like Allan said, there is a reason, and it's not because your straight.
See what i mean mate you defend the others but keep taking digs at me its getting boring.
If people keep taking digs at you then maybe you should stop and try to really figure out why that might be instead of just dismissing it as "the gays and women" bullying you.
If you want to play victim Olympics this is not the place.
See what i mean mate you defend the others but keep taking digs at me its getting boring.
You should probably drop it then... Opinions are not something easily changed. The way you put things comes off as anti-gay and it riles up people.

I will play the game multiple times with all the classes but have my first Inquisitor in mind when discussing stuff.
And she will probably be an elf mage (don't know spec) or Artificer rogue.
