I would be happy if Iron Bull was straight, because I want my second option to be literally anyone else but him. lol
Nooooooo, I don't want him either! ![]()

The sentence "he/she will sleep with anyone..." is used for heterosexual people too.
Well, usually, if someone is a straight woman they'll say 'she will sleep with any man' and vice versa. Ambiguity goes to bi/pan people from what i know.
But yep, it would imply that too.
For those that may not be able to click on that link:
Damn it, DG.Those who desire romance are not "bad" for it.
A lot of Gaider's posts are from 2013, though, and Weekes was a lot more vague about it when asked. I don't think Cole is an LI, don't get me wrong, but it's not really "official" that he's off the table. Weekes said he changed quite a bit since Asunder. We don't know how much. I think we need to really draw a line on calling things official when they're still not quite there.

Yeah that Weekes interview was very pointed towards his maturing, and the fact Iron Bull has 'women banter' with him.

I'm alright with him just not being an LI. With bi we're both stuck with him. ![]()

It looks like we'll need WoG, but somehow, I don't think that has changed at all.
To me, No means No. I'm sure while he's changed since Asunder, I don't think DG would have been that adamant against a Cole romance in Inquisition if the idea was on the table. I'm quite certain that DG would have known about the changes that Patrick was making to Cole at that point.
So while you have a point, I'm not sure how much more clear DG can make it.
Edit: Note the date of the last response on those tweets. May 13th wasn't that long ago.

That tells me nothing, other than IB trying to teach Cole the birds and the bees.
Regardless, Cole isn't even technically "alive". He's not a physical being. He's a spirit. It feels like you'd be trying to romance a ghost.
I have a suggestion for dragon age 3: first of all I am sending this to you because I don't know who to send it to nor how to get in contact with them. If i may ask can you make sera, hear me out don't delete or ban me till after you read message and then if possible pass it on to who needed to get this message instead, able to romance with males to like the bard (I forget how to spell her name) I know it begins with a M the main reason is I love the elves I am always dalish, regardless of wither the person I romance is city dalish or Mage backround second I know it is possible as I stated earlier with the bard. Third I leave with a question if nothing else I would to at least know why she female only and/or would change her if they could but the game is too close to finishing to change it
Sera is a lesbian. She is only available to female characters for romance. This will not change by the time the game comes out.

There's a whole movie about that.

Eh, if the character is still being written as a spirit with the mind if a 12-year-old, I don't think it's at all unfair to frown on the idea of wanting the character for a romance.
Fair enough if Cole turns out to have matured significantly since Asunder, but if not, you don't think the idea of wanting to romance a child should be labelled with something negative?
He's a demon, not a child, and he seemed to have escaped the childlike paradigm he held for most of Asunder. And his current character model is definitely not 12.
I didn't say he was a child, but in any case I don't think we know how much he's changed since Asunder - maybe it will be significant, but we don't have strong evidence one way or the other at this point. He's a demon, not a child, and he seemed to have escaped the childlike paradigm he held for most of Asunder. The quote that David Gaider doesn't want to romance Cole doesn't mean anything either way to whether he's an available romance. Patrick Weekes seemed to be backing it up on the "Cole has the mentality of a child" comments over his Twitter after Cole's reveal, but I think it could be over the "is it morally acceptable for him to be there at all" argument. Still, I was also 100% sure that David Gaider would write Cole. I don't call anything official when it's obvious that the staff aren't giving a clear answer on it. Weekes had a clear opportunity to say Cole wasn't an LI and he didn't, so I wouldn't call it official if they're going to keep obviously dancing around the issue. That doesn't mean I think it's going to happen, but I still think it's best to take the safe route.
And some of those tweets requesting him as "companion and LI" came out before the character photos were released, so at that point the only details that were out were what was in Asunder.
Wasn't the first companion trailer, which showed the 'Round Table back in early May?

Sorry if you feel like I'm singling you out, because I don't entirely disagree.
In any case, I did tweet Patrick asking if he would confirm or deny this once and for all. Again, I think DG was explicitly clear that wasn't going to happen (especially after the May 13th response,) but perhaps Word of God from his current author can finally stamp out the rumors of a potential romance with Cole.
There's a whole movie about that.
A ghost with the mind of a child, so replace Swayze with Casper. Still as appealing?

Yes, but Cole wasn't confirmed to be the tall blonde guy in there until more recently.
That's why I tweeted Patrick. It seems very clear to me, but this rather uncomfortable notion of a Cole romance should be put to rest once and for all. I'm not saying that those that want a Cole romance are creepy or wrong. Just for me, the idea is extremely uncomfortable and goes into some awkward territory.
Now onto folks that are confirmed romances: Out of all the ladies, I really like Cassandra the best. She's my hope for a bisexual romance. ![]()

It's totally fine. I'm not upset about the issue. ![]()
Hopefully we'll get a reply, but I'm honestly doubtful that they'll make an official statement on any of the companions that haven't already gotten one. It would be great if they did, though. It's a pretty contentious issue. The Cole thread has blown up about it a couple times.

I didn't figure you were upset, but I just wanted to be clear. You're one of the folks I've known the longest on the forums and I wanted to make sure you knew that I wasn't going to start a fruitless endless debate on the matter. ![]()
Yeah, I watched it over the last few days. It got extremely heated, to say the least. For now, I'm glad that most of the forums has handled this with grace. I'll let you know if I get an answer. I don't really expect one either, but here's to hoping.
YES. GIVE ME CASS.
Give us Cass. ![]()
Honestly, so far she really is the lady I have my eye on the most. "Scribbles" looks nice, but without a name or a background, I can't say how I would feel about her. I do have a really sad tendency of ignoring NPCs unless they get my attention. Sorry Chambers, sorry Traynor.
Sera, as I've stated before, seems a little to immature for my taste and Vivienne is just too caustic. Cassandra hits all of my buttons. ![]()
It was a reference...
Oh. *pats*
And yes for Cassandra. At least then even if I'm all "ehhhh" towards the males I'll still have Cassy ![]()

What's weird (I guess) is that Cass is just one of my favorite female characters. Only Flemeth tops her. I mean, those EYES!!!!!! I adore Cass's eyes. And her character is just so amazing to me, and has so much room for growth in the upcoming game. I am so happy she'll be a companion in DAI.
I really hope Cass is bisexual... or Viv... Actually as long as one other of the girls is bisexual I'll be happy. I don't like any of the guys this time so I'll be strictly sticking with the ladies.
I'm willing to give all of them a chance in the actual game before deciding on whether or not I like them though. I don't believe a single quote and interview can encapsulate everything about them and all their growth they'll experience!

I wish they'd just say it also, mostly because I'm tired of people screaming in the Cole tumblr tag and making it hard to look at pretty art.
