Maybe qunari and dwarves are the only ones tough enough.
You have no idea how much I would love for that to happen. After all dwarfs are tougher than those scrawny humans and elves ![]()

I'm selfishly hoping really hard that IB is either not bi or not an LI, because he's literally the least appealing male out of the whole group, to me.
I guess I'm starting to get slightly more alright with Blackwall, though.

I understand the feeling, I don't feel the same about IB or Blackwall I love them so far but I really wish they confirm Cullen to be a fluke cause I'm really not interested in him he's the least appealing character to me and he's confirmed to be an LI. (Congrats to the people that wanted him though I'm happy for you I'm just not into him) Sorry the choices so far look not so great to you hopefully you'll get a choice you really enjoy in the game ![]()

Different strokes. Right now, IB is definitely my second favorite and I'm really hopeful that he will be the bisexual male LI. If I had IB and Dorian as my options, I would be a very, very happy guy.
The only one that I don't want (outside of Cole, obv) is Solas. He's not awful looking, but he's just not up to the same snuff as the other guys this time around.

I'm sure if his an option avaliable to femquisitor I'll give it a shot, even if only out of curiosity. But, yes, I'd rather have any other male companion as LI (apart from Cole). The thing is I'd have been fine with someone like Sten or the Arishok. I like a lot how the other 99,9% of the qunaris looked, in fact
Iron Bull pretty much hits the opposite of what I'd want in every way. Physically, he's just.. no. Personality wise, he doesn't appeal to me at all from what we've seen. I've seen people compare him to Zevran, but I don't see it at all. To me, he seems a lot more like Oghren. Then there's the whole "Qunari spy" issue. I can barely even find a way to justify recruiting him, let alone romancing him.
Looks-wise with what's available, I'd go for Cullen or Blackwall. I'd probably end up with someone like Blackwall in real life. Personality-wise, I like the sound of IB. I don't know what to think of Dorian. I just hope he doesn't end up being a stereotype. They've already made him out to be a bit of a bitchy gay, which... I'm not a fan of it in real life so... I dunno. I'll always go for the Will over the Jack every time. If anyone doesn't get that reference, shame on you.
I'm not really understanding where people are getting "bitchy gay" from Dorian.
The words we've gotten to describe him: charming, confident, witty, cocky, smart, jaded, sarcastic, and idealistic.
I guess the description of his relationship with Vivienne could be construed as "bitchy", but it just seems more fun and good natured than anything. I guess that's me though.

It also doesn't help that the voice Freddie gave him makes him sound 100 years old and toothless. ![]()
Huh what, I never got the impression that Dorian was "bitchy" at all, just maybe arrogant which is different.
I actually don't mind Solas at all. He's not as attractive to me as Cullen, if I'm being honest, but he is a companion and I prefer that to an NPC romance. So, Solas is my second choice after Dorian. Then Cullen, then Blackwall.

From this:
[DA]: Dorian’s sarcasm must create some rather interesting banter with other members of the Inquisition. Any personal favorite combinations stand out for you?
[DG]: I think I enjoy his relationship with Vivienne the most. They’re complete opposites and will tear into each other viciously—or, at least, that’s what it looks like to outsiders.
[DA]: After listening to Mary Kirby talk about Vivienne’s power, we’re not so sure that’s Dorian’s wisest move.
[DG]: Really, they find it good fun, and they’ll go from arguing to banding together in order to criticize someone else in a cold second—like the Statler and Waldorf of Thedas. I love that.
I know bitchy queens in real life and even if it's meant as fun, it can be exhausting to be around. Dorian might be great but I just can't with people that can only get their jollies by tearing someone else down. I hope it's not the case with him.

Hmm, fair enough.
Gah. I feel like I know less than before. x3
My list still of guesstimations:
Cullen - Straight
Iron Bull - Bi
Solas - Bi
Dorian - Gay *confirmed*
Varric - Straight
Blackwall - Bi...?/gay/straight/IDK
Cassandra - Straight
Sera - Gay *confirmed*
Viv - Bi
Scribbles - Bi
These are only my guesses if they are actually romanceable, not who will be options. I highly doubt Varric and Blackwall are, and I also doubt that that many people will be romanceable. I don't think Cole will be at all so I didn't include him.
(I am so bad at this. xD I will probably laugh later when we find out and I see how wrong I was.)
Also, this is not what I want but what I think it might be. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ I like speculating!
Anybody else have their guesstimations?
Edit: Did not spell that name right. o-o
They did mention in the "teams" discussion on Twitter that Vivienne and Dorian like to make fun of people's clothes and stuff. I'm sure that Dorian isn't going to be a typical gay stereotype, or anything like that, but I get why people think he and Vivienne both may be bitchy or snobby. I think it's less of a "gay thing" and more of a "spoiled rich kids of their demographic" thing, though.
None of the companions do much for me as romances, except Varric and how much I think he's a LI varies from day to day. I'm sure I'll find something to like about all of them. Remember, we know little specifics about any of them. Perhaps a romance one feels is unworthy of attempting turns out to be just fantastic in every way imaginable. We don't know what makes these people tick yet.

He sounds really great to me so far. And he looks great. And he's written by DG. I'm so jealous of gay guys
(and people who enjoy playing any gender, I guess
)

I concur. Or perhaps a "Tevinter and Orlais" thing. I can see some criticisms of clothing going on in Tevinter, maybe not as much as Orlais, though.
Who was it on what thread that had the idea that the size of a magister's entourage showed power, the smaller the better because it shows the magister in question needs no protection from others? That was nifty. Bioware, make it happen.
Kinda made me picture the opening of Romeo and Juliet, with a gang of Montagues and a gang of Capulets arguing in the streets. "Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?"

To be honest, I have no idea who I'll go for until I'm in game. I really need to hear them speak more. Looks-wise my tastes are pretty vanilla. Dorian certainly is handsome and the moustache (which I hated at first) is growing on me. I really just want him to be a kind sort... at least deep down. Give me an Alistair or Sebastian; a Kaiden or a Steve (or a gay Vega) and I'll be happy. Looks aren't super important to me (even though they were all pretty hot).

From the interview with David Gaider where he emphasized several times how perfection and social image were of the highest importance in Tevinter, it does sound like they and Orlais have a very similar culture. Dorian is from a rich, noble family in Tevinter and Vivienne is in a position that holds authority, but also that needs to be protected. So, I think they've both had this drilled in and been fire tested. It's probably something that comes naturally to them based on the environment they're used to.

If I recall correctly, that was Xil.
