I would like to see some romance options for straight males.

See: everyone who isn't Sera.

Yeah, I highly doubt that they are going to have more than one s/s exclusive for each gender.  As progressive as Bioware is, it seems like a huge leap to go from zero to multiple gay options in one game span in the series.  I suspect that the rest of the LI's that will be announced are going to be straight or bisexual.  Especially with Cullen, since he has shown some interest in ladies in the past (*note:  I'm not saying he's straight; just that he's probably not gay).

So if I had to predict at this point:

* Cassandra - straight or bisexual

* Cullen - straight or bisexual

* Sera - lesbian

* Iron Bull - bisexual

* Dorian - gay

This would mean that:

Straight guys - Cassandra

Straight gals - Cullen, Iron Bull

Gay guys - Iron Bull, Dorian, (possibly Cullen)

Gay gals - Sera, (possibly Cassandra)

So I do think that we know at least one option for each gender/sexuality combination at this point; it's just that it hasn't been confirmed.  I also suspect that Scribe Girl will be an NPC romance and, with the announcement of race-gating, possibly another LI or two as well.  I think that we've just hit the tip of the information iceberg here, so I wouldn't worry.  Although, admittedly, it's probably easier for me to say this given that it is possible that all three of my LI favs might be available for me this time around.  That doesn't mean that I don't remember well the anxiety of not knowing if there will be options that I like.

Not as shudderworthy, to me, as Bethany/Sebastian or Merrill/Carver...

Funny though, I think DG wanted to do a comic with Bethany and Sebastian or Nathaniel Howe :P

I can understand why some people are annoyed that they don't know which options are for them, honestly. It's a bit frustrating. I'm still hoping they'll just give us the full LI line-up with sexualities once all the major characters are introduced.

As for who I want to romance --

#1 - Dorian

#2 - (In order)

Solas, if available

Cullen, if available

Blackwall (maaaaybe, we'll see), if available.

Back to Dorian again.

Yes, well, I'll be over here being happy he didn't get his wish. If I wanted to pair Bethany with anyone, it'd be... Sigrun.

Ahh, you assume that they'd ever get within miles of each other in my own game.

I know of your problem with Bethany/Sebastian (though I honestly didn't see much when she's a GW), but why you have problems with Nathaniel/Bethany?
If I have to pair Bethany with any female characters, I'd say Isabela.

Isn't she dead in your canon?

I would say Isabela too, but they're just not in close proximity with each other. Warden Bethany could in theory actually meet and stay close to Sigrun (but not the amazing vanishing Velanna), and I think Sigrun's generally upbeat attitude would be quite healthy for Bethany's somewhat more morose take on the Wardens.

I'm still thinking it over. MageHawke frustrates me due to not being able to make any creative choices with magic that'd smooth things over in Kirkwall during the long timeskips; a bit of judiciously applied mind control could help a hell of a lot, for instance. Also, I like Bethany a lot more than Carver, and want to see her as a Warden, as she seems to become only more passive in the Circle.

Understood. I wonder if we'll see Warden Siblings with the Awakening group in DAI.

More than anything else, Bethany wants to simply be accepted as "normal".  In the Circle, she has a measure of that.  It's a community of mages, and she's just one more among their number.  She can study and practice magic openly, and even instruct others (something she seems to enjoy doing)  Minus the templars, she'd have an idyllic life in the Circle.

As a Grey Warden, though, she's, well, a Grey Warden.   A hero out of legend.  As far from "normal" as you can get.  Sure she can practice magic openly here too, but it's a life of hardship and sacrifice, and likely an early death even without the taint.  It's not the simple life she had always dreamed of.  This is Carver's dream.

Idyllic, maybe, but this isn't an idyllic world, and Bethany comes across as a spineless wimp in the Circle, at least to me. Far too passive, not nearly inclined enough to question her place in the world, and will just go along wherever the Circle happens to go. Because, in truth, Bethany isn't normal; she's exceptional even for a mage, and I don't think it's healthy to try to clamp down on that; I felt, in that playthrough, like Bethany had just gone backwards.

I almost would have been happy if they hadn't released any information on the LI.  Because the suspense is terrible and Wonka hopes it'll last.

I think it'd be a wonderful surprise if everyone was romanceable in some way, depending on quizzy's class, gender, and race. That could be totally doable - plus everyone can experience a romance with the character they like (as long as they're willing to play the role of that character's ideal romance).

Also David Gaider wants Bioware to release a romance chart. I support his suggestion!

But then we'd have seven male romances to four female. That seems slightly off.

I would rather not having dealt with Playersexual complains all over again. Plus, I'm kinda happy having Sera and Dorian as the first gay companions in DA world. Dorian himself is the first gay companion we had in Bioware game, and it's being written by the one and only David Gaider. I love his Carth and Alistair's romance.

I'd be happy for an all-playersexual system myself, but given the time limitations I like that we get a broader spread of options even if not every PC can take part in each romance.  And at least in Dorian's instance his sexuality does seem to complement his story, so I wouldn't really want to give that up.

Mr. Gaider actually didn't seem all that enthusiastic about showing us The Chart, just mentioned that it existed and might eventually be shared.  I do hope it is.

I wonder why not very many people think Solas will be LI? Is it because there isn't much info on him? I'm having a hard time believing BW would leave the only male elf out of the LI list. I so hope he is one.

I actually think he'll be available to straight females...but I just guess.

I'm not really a fan of gating. I'm happy to probably have Dorian as an LI, but I wouldn't have been any less happy if he was bi.

As for Solas, I think part of it is how little we know. I wont be surprised at all if he's either the straight or bi male LI.

I think/hope he is a romance also. I'm already not getting my David written romance. I don't want to be deprived of my male elf too.

Many People don't think he will be an LI, because he looks very different from the typical "Hollywood Beauty" Ideal. He also looks old, in my Opinion, just like Blackwall. I myself however, think he is likely to be a Love Interest, if we get something along the Lines of 2/4/2. In that case, I could see him being either race-gated and bisexual or, more likely, the straight Option for all Females.

Either Way, I don't care because in my Opinion he honestly is completely ugly. I do not dig Heads without a single hair on it. And, to play the Vivienne here, he is in desperate Need of a new Outfit.
