There'll be a 'backlash' in Cassandra is straight?
She has a huge bisexual/lesbian following (especially on tumblr), so yes.

That was my intentions...to be mysteriously joking and serious! DUN DUN DUN!!! But on a serious note, the DA2 romance balance was messed up. But I don't really think Bioware hates straight males...or do they?
I don't think favoring women one time over men who have had the advantage for 10 or whatever games constitutes man hating.

So? A lot of males are/were fans of Sera, didn't seem to deter BioWare.
I think it's a bit rude to make a fuss if the options you get are pretty even, honestly. It comes across as a bit bratty. Obviously not everyone is going to get the LI that they want. As long as the options seem fairly distributed, I understand being disappointed, but making it as if it's a personal slight isn't really reasonable.
What would the point of that be? It'd be ideal for the less popular characters to be straight or gay, with the most popular ones being bi.
Dorian and Sara (as well as their fans) would disagree. Both were loved from the beginning and both ended up gay. So, the point is relevant at least to that game.

Yes, but they would probably rather romance Cassandra and Sera. Thus, there would be a lot of, "WHY DID THEY GET THE BETTER DEAL?!". Where as, with Cassandra and Sera being split towards exclusives, a lot less people would feel like one side got a better deal.
A harder choice than Merrill vs. Isabela, at any rate.
Yeah, I know. Can't believe they actually made the crazy elf an option.

Well, I hope to not see a Sera situation again. She has a huge bisexual/lesbian following (especially on tumblr), so yes.
Just a thought, I know this what suck for straight male players but what if after announcing Sera an female option only, they announced Cassandra and Vivienne as lesbians as well. What would be the backlash of that?

Huge, especially if Scribbles isn't an LI. That is an exclusion of a sexual orientation.
in b4 anything along the lines of 'well gays had that'
. Well, I hope to not see a Sera situation again.
Same. Just like a character being gay isn't something you should fly into a flurry over same with a character being straight. I'll be disappointed if Cass is straight but I'll either romance her on my male or simply friend her.
Although you could look at it in another way many people seem to believe that Cass will be the "important follower" would it be fair for some people to be left out again.
Well, if that's even true. Some people believe it, but we don't know that Cassandra is any more important than anyone else. I think that's something we need to wait and see on before people complain about it without knowing. If Cassandra ends up having way more content and she's straight, then I'll understand complaints, but we don't know she will be more important or have more content.
I'll grab a pack of popcorn and enjoy the hell this forum will become.Just a thought, I know this what suck for straight male players but what if after announcing Sera an female option only, they announced Cassandra and Vivienne as lesbians as well. What would be the backlash of that?

Probably bad.
Hilarious but bad.
By the way, though, on the other hand, it doesn't seem too unlikely at all that Cullen will be a straight NPC romance? Not that they haven't had previously shown more attraction to women male romances be bisexual options before, but Cullen seems like he would be very easy to keep straight. I think Dorian will be our gay male LI, but I'm totally drawing a blank on who our bi male LI will be. None of our current remaining guys really seem like very likely options...?
I'm thinking that Cullen is the straight romance. I know that it could be possible that he is bisexual. But personally I just can't ignore the fact that he has been flirting with women only. I'm not trying to offend anybody with that statement. What comes to bisexual male LI I think it could be anybody but I'm hoping that it will be Solas.
Considering we get more choices then others in ME3, i don't think so. Well, I hope to not see a Sera situation again.
I know, I'm just playing. But that DA2 had me mad. If they should of allowed Aveline as an LI as well because then straight males would of got 3 LIs and straight females 3, equally balanced.

I have to say, as a straight female gamer, it fills me with anger (and I am not using hyperbole) to see a straight male gamer claim that Bioware hates them.
Let's take the Way Back machine for a second. Let's take a look at Baldur's Gate II...
Straight Male Gamer Romance Options: Aerie, Viconia, and Jaheria
Straight Female Gamer Romance Options: Anomen and half of a cut romance option with Haer'Dalis.
Gay Male Gamer Romance Options: Zero.
Lesbian Female Gamer Romance Options: Zero.
Pansexual/Asexual Gamer Romance Options: Uhhhh... zero.
There was so little regard for anything other than the straight male that there was NOTHING for gay and lesbian gamers. There was so little respect for the female romance options that mid-way through developing the game they decided to cut out Haer'Dalis' romance and they didn't even bother cutting the dialogue they had already programmed into the game.
So, I literally get angry when I hear the ST8 Male Gamer cry about being the poor little forgotten baby. Seriously, get over it.

Unnecessary comment.

Equally balanced for straight people...
It wouldn't really for lesbians and gays. Plus, and Aveline romance would've been far more bigger then Sebastian's .I know, I'm just playing. But that DA2 had me mad. I don't think that Sebastian upsets the balance too much... 1) he is a DLC character and 2) his "chaste" romance can kinda sorta maybe pass as an asexual romance. Just saying. Cuz of the no sex. His romance is so different than most it is hard to say that he was a straight up heterosexual option. IMO... YMMV.
And I guarantee there would people with sand in their shorts if they had a het female romance that didn't let you bang her...

I don't remember any unfinished romance dialog with Haer'Dalis. I remember being angry that he romanced Aerie right in front of me after I read that he was a planned romance for PCs. I remember David then saying that he saw HD more likely to have a drunken one night stand with the PC rather than fall in love with her which crushed my heart even more.

In that situation, only have 1 LI I wouldn't like that but if Scribbles wasn't one at all...This would be me on October 7th
