I too can't believe they out in 20 freaking dragon fights. It's a rediculous waste of resources that pulls from the actual game. I hear they even may have side quests. What is even the point of any quest that isn't required to win the game?

Most RPGs have sidequests. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I just feel that character interaction and romances go together neither would have the same importance without the other. If that makes any since.
Yeah I'm playing Divinity OS at the moment, no romances but character interaction and I love it. Romance adds a nice touch but to me being able to craft a character and play meaningful conversations with decent reactions means more to me than that.
I don't really understand what people think will be accomplished by arguing for pages and pages about what the majority wants in Bioware games. Nobody here is qualified to say that. You're just working from your own bias and your own limited view, that's probably heavily tainted by confirmation bias. That's why I wouldn't trust my own judgment on how far the romances should go in comparison to other things. Bioware knows the feature is popular and they also know they have to balance it against other things. I would expect it to keep being included and I'm 100% sure that they're never going to exclude all other content for it. Where the balance strikes is up for debate, sure, but I think some people are really over estimating how qualified they are to draw that line.
That's because you're making it up. I've never run across anyone request that DA be turned into a dating sim, or seen a thread requesting it. So right now you're in the "I totally saw a unicorn" level of credibility.
We don't even know all of the romance options so there's no reason to complain right now.

Optional side quests in all of BW games that I can remember. Even in BG that had no romances.
Threads don't have to be specifically about romance to be dominated by romance discussion. Every character discussion thread, for example has extended periods where nothing but romancing that character is discussed.
Sure, the character threads often are about romances. Those threads are not 80% of the forum. You said 8/10 threads, and I pointed out that in 2/3 forums, romance content is barely 10%. When you make inflammatory accusations using actual figures, there's got to be more evidence than "because I said so".

Like I said, I imagine that all race/gender/sexuality combinations will get two options. Beyond that, it will probably not be even.

Your opinion doesn't represent the majority. A lot of people didn't like not having a choice with race in DA 2. Bioware does not have to make your idea of a game. THe world does not revolve around you.

They'll get bored soon, honestly. It comes up in these pretty rarely. I'd just ignore it. Bioware isn't going to remove romances, anyway. lol
