Ahem I mean well as long as they're happy that's all that matters >>;
Gorim why? My Adeducan always loved you *cries*
I think that, with Varric, Bianca is less of an obsession than she is a story that he feels could have had a better ending. I don't think he's necessarily pining after her for 10 years; he's so caught up in his stuff and Hawke's stuff that he doesn't really seem to have much time to moon over a woman, or to fall in love with another one, either.
(never mind Kirkwall's mysterrrrrious lack of female dwarves)
Given that it's the end of the world in Inquisition, and given Varric's fears about what might ultimately become of everyone he knows and loves, it stands to reason that, given the opportunity and with no obstacles, he'd want to connect with Bianca, for closure, at the least. I don't think that's unhealthy on its surface, their relationship did end abruptly and unpleasantly, although I'm not ruling out that it could be written in such a way that it comes of creepy.
It's possible that Varric really just hasn't met anyone that worked for him, rather than that he's just too hung up on Bianca to move on, too. I mean, he named the crossbow Bianca, but she made the plans for the crossbow and she was important to him, so I don't think that necessarily makes him creepily obsessed. Maybe he was telling the truth about not being into humans. Maybe Varric does only dig dwarf ladies. You don't see many around.

Especially in DA 2.

Proof that they were smart enough to stay away from that pustule of a city.
I actually like the idea of Varric being an female dwarf only romance. It's highly restrictive, yes, but I think it adds a lot to roleplaying, similar to how only an male Cousland warden is allowed to marry Anora. It makes the whole thing feels very... unique.

I doubt that'll happen though since Anora wasn't an LI really and if Varric is one (which again I doubt since Bioware's LIs so far for DA have only been humans and elves) I could see how it would feel cheap to other players who don't like to play as dwarves but do like Varric like I'm dreading the race gates since I don't like to play humans or elves that much and they're most likely to have the most romance content to them. I apologize if I'm not making any sense^^;
I've noticed a lot of people complaining that Leliana (and to a lesser extent, Morrigan) can't be romanced this game. How does everyone feel about that decision? Do you think past LIs should be considered as current LIs with a flag closing them off if they were romanced before? So, if you romanced Morrigan and not Leliana in DA:O, for example, Leliana would be available in DA:I and Morrigan's romance would be gated off. Or do you think LIs should only ever be available in one game?

I think they should be cut off mostly because they've had their game already and I would like new faces for both companions and LIs. I'd rather get to know someone new than get to know someone who I (as the player not PC) already know.
inb4 people thinking it's the actual romance chart ![]()

I rather have new LIs, and I'd never pick an old LI with another PC. Also, I'm one of those who usually headcanon "happily ever after" and maybe I'd not mind if it wasn't so, but I'd rather not have BW decide that for me. If it was something you could choose, perfect, if anyone want them to be available for their new PC, I'd love it if they had the chance. But if it's going to be (or not) an LI for everyone, then I'd not like it.
So, all in all, I'm ok with the decision
I almost wonder if Cassandra and Cullen aren't either both straight or both bi, since they were paired together, but it might just be because they were the most well known at the time. Actually, it's probably the latter. Cullen's voice actor spilled the beans on his romance and the only other well known female at the time was Cassandra, so that could be it. lol

They were both announced at pax by Laidlaw

Awesome~
Although has Cole actually been confirmed to not be a romance?
I know he's HIGHLY unlikely, but I'm of a mind to only believe things straight from the devs >.>

What the hell does a "break" even mean in this context? It seems like "I'm breaking up with you but I want you to be open to getting back together."

Gaider said it WILL NOT HAPPEN because he "has the mentality of a child"
everytime I see a big chart I think: YEEEES! Bioware has finally posted 'the chart' to us! and then I recognize it's not 'the chart' and I think: owwwwww :-(
Whether Cole is confirmed not to be or not is a pretty contentious issue. Gaider's comments about it are older or somewhat vague and any requests for a clear confirmation have come up with nothing. It's strongly hinted that he's not, but I don't think they're allowed to officially confirm or deny anyone besides the four we have confirmed right now.

I'll just take that as a compliment...

Well there needs to be a dwarf romance... I hope. And if Varric isn't, then she would make extra sense. I think she was a teenager in origins, so now she'd be in her mid 20's
