I feel doubtful that we'll get any LIs outside of the companions and advisors. The advisors are deeply ingrained in the plot to a level that I don't think NPCs have been before and that's why I can see them working somewhat as LIs. I'm pretty doubtful they'll get farther out into the second tier NPCs for LIs.

True, although Gaider has dismissed those quotes as just teasing people, and he said he was "tempted" to make Varric a romance option in DA2.

 

 

It was once planned that at the end of the game, Varric would leave his interrogation, find hawke and tell her about it. She could ask him if he mention their relationship and he would say "don't worry, I didn't tell her about us" 

 

 

but it was scrapped. I don't mind though.

Yeah I heard about that as well! I don't really mind either. No romantic content in previous games makes it more likely he could be an LI in upcoming games, imo. As unlikely as it may be ~

Yeah it doesn't really matter in the long run. Varric is still a great character and can easily be without a romance. If he does become one then I don't mind.

That was never planned nor scrapped. That was fans imagining stuff they wish was in the game.

I don't think it was something planned , I think it was something they joke about... they never really take it seriously.

This is so damn complicated, I'm going to go out and say Solas, Vivienne/Scribbles (leaning more towards Viv') and Iron Bull will be the last confirmations as LI with the last being the only race-gated. All available to both genders.

 

That'll be 7 LI then with only one being race-gated, I'd like to say Varric will be available but it probably won't happen.

Yeah, I'm kind of leaning towards this too.  Maybe Blackwall instead of Solas and I'm leaning more towards Scribe Girl over Vivienne (even if Vivienne is the only gal I'm interested in, tbh), but I agree that I'm leaning towards 7 (2/2/2 with IB as race gated "bonus" for humans and qunari).

It was never "planned." The quote, I believe, was that they considered "Throwing something in there."

 

However, the only time I've heard about this is on the DA wiki, and the source the list is some random Tumblr, so I'd much sooner take it with a grain of salt than actual dev statement.

Yeah, the only thing I have to go by is that we found an actual post (while searching around in the old Varric thread) from Gaider saying Varric was tempting to add in as an LI, but aside from that I have no clue if the other stuff is just rumor or not.

I love mixing it up! Not just inter-species even, but different classes as well. :3 Although I want to romance Sera with another rogue, but a human one.

I usually prefer playing non-human, so I guess I kinda have to prefer interracial romances, eh?

 

Hopefully the romance scenes for dwarves are better than they were in Origins. And we don't have anything like Alistair saying he loves you because you aren't human. Ech.

Nah, race doesn't normally affect my playthroughs. I'll probably play a human mage first time around and romance Dorian. Second game, romance Iron Bull as male Qunari mage.

Yeah, same. It's always nice romancing non mages as mages at least. I am thinking of romancing Dorian as an elf mage though. XD I was originally planning to play as a dwarf first (and who knows, still might) cause they're my favorite race (I do love elves though) but mages are my favorite class. And class won I guess.

I like interracial storylines.  I'm a sucker for any romance that believes their love can cross any boundary, be it social, physical, whatever.  I don't really *plan* playthroughs with LI races in mind, though.  I mostly consider my protagonist first, and then think who they may work with organically from there.  

 

 

and knock Iron Bull out of the LIs.
