The thing is it would mean pushing Viv as the less desirable option to be the straight option. It seems like it happens a lot when it's a character people don't want, they want it to be of the other orientations, so they could get more options they want. It happens a lot with Solas where people hope he's straight/gay depending on who you ask, so they don't have to deal with him. It comes off as a bit selfish in a way. I'm not looking it in a general sense since it already happens a lot with gay characters in a sense that we're always get the less desirable options. I find Viv to be a very beautiful woman but seeing her being brushed asides sadden me. It seems to happen a lot with minority LI. Jacob, Vivienne, even Isabella were made white to look more beautiful. I'm not talking about you btw, just my overall view as a whole.

I understand, but I think Viv looks hella gorgeous, probably better than Cass. She reminds me of Storm, which is awesome. I just think Cass is cooler and I absolutely love her character.

If Viv is straight, I do not believe it makes her the "less desirable" option. At all.

There  is a point of extremeness to this point, but people will ultimately advocate for what they want.

Totally OT, but love dat Iorveth!

"More natural"? I doubt it. I think it's more like "more socially acceptable."

I think it's more because, men have been conditioned not to show emotion or fondness at all, unless it's to a girl they're romantically interested or involved with. A guy can hug his girlfriend in greeting, but if he tries it on his guy friend people will immediately say "You gay?" (Because, of course, men only show affection to those they want sex from, right?) Showing emotion = feminine and weak, being stoic and detached = manly. Since women are allowed to show more emotions and affection than men, and female friends are allowed to show more affection to each other than men to male friends (platonic female friends can hug, kiss each other on the cheeks, tell how much they missed the other, etc) it seems more palpable to people who've bought into societal gender roles.

A girl who kisses another girl on the lips is not too different from a girl who kisses another girl on the cheek; two girls who hold hands or cuddle on a park bench are not too different from platonic girl friends sitting close, whispering secrets, wrapping their arms around the other, etc. Our society is more used to women showing affection (both to men and other women), so it doesn't seem quite as strange, shocking, alien, or threatening than men showing affection.

I never said I agreed with him I really didn't then and still don't now (though I've been told my opinion would change once I get a boyfriend and don't find making out 'gross') maybe socially acceptable was the word he meant but the word he used was natural. I'm not sure I agree with it being more acceptable though for female friends to hug and hold hands in public I've been assumed to be gay many times simply for being protective over my best friend when she's in an abusive  relationship and I've been given odd looks and told to 'stop acting like a lesbo' for hugging a friend I had in highschool because she was female (and also assumed to be gay because of some stupid jokes she made one time) Though that is just my own experiences and do not even begin to reflect the majority of things. Just from what I've seen in my own life guys jokingly hugging and kissing eachother is more accepted than my best friend and I linking arms in a crowded area to avoid getting separated. Though again I know this doesn't begin to reflect the majority since it's such a tiny sample, that and my father is also kind of an idiot so I usually take what he says with a half grain of salt.

At the same time? Deal.

Three-ways are a lot like having an ideal utopia: It sounds great on paper, but almost always works out poorly in reality.   ;)

Yeah, sadly.

Ofc lesbians are the 'safer' choice since they've always been titillation for some straight dudes and not an actual representation.

That's exactly what it is, sad as that is. But BioWare is bringing legitimate representation with Sera and Dorian. It's yet another step in the right direction. Not to mention my elfquisitor will get his snarky bf :)

Won't stop my Inquisitor from trying with Dorian and Iron Bull. Maybe throw in Blackwall on the side as well.

In term of subjectivity of course, like you said, because you prefer Cass over Viv. I'm not fault you for it. I just feel like instead of only looking at what we want, we need to look at what other people want as well. Half the argument over orientations are usually about unfairness claims.

Maybe after they finish revealing the Advisors they'll be ready to talk romances.

Personally, I just want to romance all of them at least once, I don't care what sexuality or race restriction.

Is that too much to ask?

Pretty much how I feel on it. I already know I'm playing as a male in one playthrough to try out the Dorian romance and I'll probably do all the bisexual romances twice to experience them with both genders it'll just take me a while to play as a male PC though no where near as long as its going to take me to get out of my comfy 'Dwarves Rule!' comfort zone and play as a human or elf.

Would be nice to know who had what restrictions so I can get to that little bit of extra character content quickly and enjoy every single second of it.

I absolutely loved his character. Playing his path in Witcher 2 was so enjoyable.

As a straight male, if both Vivienne And Cass are LI I don't personally care who will be straight/bi. You could romance (if you're a straight male/roleplay this type of character) both regardless of their sexuality.

Poor Solas, it can't have been fun being the hot potato. I'm much more excited to romance him (if he's available) now that he's been revealed. :P

We might get a brothel, so there might be a chance in Hades of that happening.  :P

lol at this point I think I'm planning to roll three elfquisitiors and one of everything else >.>

One male elf for Dorian (I haven't decided the class yet, maybe a warrior/templar just to be amusing), one fem rogue elf for Solas (assuming he's a LI), and one fem mage elf for Sera.

I saw the word brothel and my mind went to naughty things.

You know, like the inquisitor deciding to turn a keep into a brothel rather than a military, espionage, or commerce stronghold....

Sorry for two posts in a row, but Elu put this up in the Sera thread and I really think it fits here too:

A thoughtful piece by folks at @CantTalkMediahttp://www.cant-talk...07/biophobia/ …

Dorian and Sera are great chars. Proud to be on game that has them.

Also (not directly to article), both chars are more than just orientations. Nobody is just there to check off a sexy box.

Oh wouldn't that be awesome if the Inquisition ran the brothel this time around! It'd be a good source of income, and you could get a chance to decide what the 'surprise me" option will be...

Actually, Bioware, I think I just had an excellent idea for DA:I's multiplayer component.
