I think most straight people don't care about the orientations, they are mostly worried about their options right now. Among queer, well, I think it's pretty clear that many are worried for the orientation of Cassandra.

Why should they be worried? I really doubt they'd make another lesbian LI. If she's bi, then it's a win/win. ![]()

This is the kinda win win I would like, but am doubtful of. We shall see.

I'm not saying they are right , just stating that I just don't believe that except a very vocal minority, if Vivienne is straight, and Cassandra Bi, it will be a big deal for most straight guys.
What matters in one playthrough is more, " okay, who I can bang ? " And less, oooh the lesbians have one more LI. While Sebastian wasn't entirely an Li, I don't think many people cared about that.

I'm a Varric LI fan, so I'm already a glutton for punishment.
I don't give up easily, so I'll remain both doubtful and hopeful.

I honestly don't get why it should be a big deal (not saying your wrong, just that I don't understand it). We (the straight males) will be able to romance both regardless of who is straight and bi. Why would it be a big deal? Because if Cassandra is bi lesbians won't feel the same disappointment felt for Sera (Nevermind the fact there are women who want to romance Vivienne as well)?I'm not saying they are right , just stating that I just don't believe that except a very vocal minority, if Vivienne is straight, and Cassandra Bi, it will be a big deal for most straight guys.

We've read some of the same posts and we've seen the ways that some self-identified "straight males" have justified being upset and/or angry about the possibility of having "only" two romances to themselves. They are upset at even the mere thought of sharing a LI. I don't get it either, but I doubt we'll get any more of an explanation than that.
I'm so glad that's a minority on the forums.

You won't see me complaining, I already have Sera. :3 I'm lucky. More at this point is just icing on the cupcake. But yes... Varric would be some amazing icing. >.>

And they will cry out in despair if she announced as a straight LI.

Yes, I think you just said what some people secretly think. There are even some guys who find Cassandra ugly but want her to be straight and to see the same disappointment for the lgbt people. They are waiting, they are ready to gloat. I can feel it, I have some power. ![]()

Why would it be a big deal? They would still have access to Cassandra and Vivienne as romances.
Edit: Oh, so you figure it's a spite thing? They wanna "take" Cassandra from the gay women because the lesbians "took" Sera from them? lol
What a mature outlook.

I've noticed that both heterosexual and homosexual posters seem to dislike the idea of 'sharing.' For some reason, bisexual characters seem to be a really tricky topic for a lot of people here.
I don't really see the issue though. How does someone being bisexual make them undesirable at all?

One of the reason I can understand why one would want to have Cass a straight (don't know if anyone used it though) is the fact that bisexual LI have higher chances to be race-gated.
I've used that, actually.

I know that there are people who'd do this, though I don't understand this logic at all. Making Cass straight so that lesbians won't be able to romances them (with female characters) won't bring Sera back as a LI For straight males.

But yeah, I see Vivienne as being more in-character with the race gates by being unavailable to Qunari.

I haven't seen that many straight guys demanding Cassandra. They're just worried about the 1 companion/1 NPC split, mostly. Most straight guys actually seem more willing to take Vivienne as straight over Cassandra than lesbians are to take Vivienne as the bi option, from what I've seen.

I seriously doubt straight guys will get only 1 female option. That seems a little paranoid to me. There are only 3 female companions and one is gay, so I'm just going with the idea that all three of them are romanceable, but now it's just figuring out if Viv or Cassandra is the bi option, but either way dudes will get 2 choices at least, and women will get two choices.

Not really, at least judging from the comments of the fans of a Cass romance. Most of the serious Cassandra fans aren't expecting her to be a bisexual romance, they are just hopeful. I don't think anyone would be surprised if she was straight. Sure, there would be a few that are going to outrage, but most would move on with life.

Then you've managed to stay away from both of the "Cass is bi?" threads. I've seen a lot of "straight male posters" not even mention Vivienne, unless it was to call her ugly in some fashion.
