XD Morrigan's rubbing it in was amusing.

Yes I would love that. One scene that always gets me is Alistair going on about Duncan. Then woe and behold if you're a human noble. "Have you ever had someone close to you die?"

"My whole family got slaughtered recently." There's like 2 lines of OMG sorry! Then welp thx for listening to my problems. It's a good thing I played most of my wardens as the stoic. (well except when it came to Howe and Loghain. Then it was rage mode). And he keeps bringing up Duncan after that but talk to you about your killed by goddamn Howe family? Nope.

XD it is! I just don't want another Anders incident where he's all "he's terrible for you. You should pick me. I totally am a sane and healthy option!" blatant lies.

The stoic. lol. Yeah, it's the only way to tolerate all of it. The Warden is Clint Eastwood.

It was very amusing. My Warden and I laughed even if they were talking about my Warden like he was toy they had to share xD

What makes me really upset about that is you do not get that question if you play any other race only human, I know my Dwarf Nobel lost someone close to her but its 'So how do your people bury the dead?' *shrugs* Oh well. Yeah I mean he does apologize for bringing Duncan up so much but damn not to be mean to ya Alistair but whole family being slaughtered kind of outweighs Duncan though I guess you could argue he was mourning all the Wardens but he really didn't act like it if that was the case. He's just lucky being mean to him feels too much like kicking a puppy to me -_-

PCs have problems too and the companions should care especially if they are suppose to be our friends or lovers.

Oh Maker no I do not want another thing of Anders (though the banter with Fenris Anders and Isabela is kind of funny) especially when the banter includes insulting my LI without my PC telling them to knock it off or take a dagger in their joints.  No when I say jealous banter I more or less mean the kind that Morrigan and Alistair have though I'm sure I'll have one or two PCs that will be people who like to try and woo everyone they can so jealous banter would make sense in that case.

If there's going to be tragic romances (which, yes, I agree it's kind of a given...) I really just hope that they're equally distributed, and I know what DG said about equal distribution and I know DA teams is not ME team, but, seriously, I see the problematic situation with IB and the Qun, I see Blackwall with thw Calling and maybe even Cullen and the lyrium thing... and the ME3 trauma makes me be wary about straight femquisitor perspectives  :(

I expect that the gay LIs will not be tragic. The writers seem genre savvy enough to realize that Tragic Gay Romance has a number of problems.

The lady LIs tend to get a better deal. Morrigan will dump you... but then you get a DLC specifically about hunting her down. Leliana seems to have it rough now, but for DA:O, she was probably the happiest. Isabela was rather happy. Merrill has been the most 'tragic' but she's still better than Fenris or Anders.

Then again, David has acknowledged that having both the male LIs for DA II be so dark was a problem because romances ought to feel different from one another.

I expect straight women and straight men will both get one tragimance.

Based on looks alone, none of the options presented so far for romance attracts me, which is unfortunate. Sera is the exception, but I am disappointed to find that she's female exclusive.

Ah well.

Maybe in the end I am just gonna create a handsome/beautiful Inquisitor and friendzoning everyone :D

I stopped holding any positive expectations for game protagonists personally. At this point, I'm already expecting Hawke and the Warden dead (if I didn't kill the Warden myself). What do I care about tragic romances in this light? :D There's so much more that sucks about their lives.

I think I like their book protagonists much more. For example, even with Briala and Celene's tragimance, I'm happy for either. Both have productive lives, stories with real impact in the world and their people. I'd be happy if they just kept writing books and didn't make the games (not that I want that, but I'm saying I could be happy with it). Plus, I don't have to worry about getting personally attached if things go bad.

Did he say that? Oh, that's good news :)

Now, I'm curious about what could be the female with thr tragic romance. I mean, there's quite a few male companions who seem to have a lot of tragic potential, but it's not that obvious for the women.

Meh. Even in a game, personality will always win for me over looks.

I wasn't really keen on Solas being bald, but I'm starting to like him because he seems like an interesting guy.

Well, I wasn't keen on Anders, Fenris, Merrill or Isabela (she was a close one though) in DA2. I would have liked Varric and Aveline as romances but alas, it was not to be.

Yet I still enjoyed DA2, very much even.  :)

So if Varric doesn't turn out to be an LI (AGAIN) it won't sour my experience playing DA:I.

I find all the female characters I know about - Cassandra, Sera, Vivienne, and Leliana - awesome in their way.

It's not just that they're attractive but that they're each very different from one another. They all have their own personality and quirks, and there's something different to love about each of them.

Heh.

I think I got it as a mage too. Actually I think you get it as every origin the bury dead is just an extra line? Not too sure though. But yeah not Alistair's best moment no. XD

Yep the relationships tend to feel too give on the PCs side for me.

Yeah that one was ugh. I'm not that fond of jealous banter. Even Morrigan and Leliana's restored banters in the Morrigan restoration patch left me cold. Oooh like Fenris if you tried to hook up with Zev? I wouldn't mind that :D

The stoic. lol. Yeah, it's the only way to tolerate all of it. The Warden is Clint Eastwood.

Apparently XD I just hc my wardens breaking down in private before putting up the stoic mask in the morning. Explains why I feel US is so fitting at least XD.

I feel like Aveline would have actually been a super uncomfortable romance, considering she blames you for her husbands death and I seem to remember getting punched in the face. But maybe she just didn't like me:(

Well, of course personality and characters are important, but I am not gonna lie that looks has nothing to do with me being attracted to an individual too. The same way it works with the real world. And so far, unfortunately none of the characters shown are my type.

I don't think this is a "wrong" thing to have an opinion about.

Only way you get punched in the face is if you rivaled her. So...

I like Aveline quite a bit. Wasn't obviously attractive at first, but she sort of grew on me. I would have rather dealt (however tragically) with her than with Merrill's grief. Outside your siblings, those two both share some sense of loss with Hawke and leaving Ferelden. Just that Merrill adds on more drama with the whole demon thing. I'd rather do without it, and deal with a more down to earth story in Aveline.

This.

While Zevran looked fine, his fake accent was just weird but I enjoyed the romance nonetheless.

And Varric has an amazing personality. Back then (I was 18 and admittedly quite shallow) I used to think that I will ONLY pursue tall men.

Varric's humour and charm won me over. The beginnings of liking/accepting manly chest hair and heck, his height even, just kind of followed.

Spoiler

It's funny how pre-Game of Thrones, real life dwarves were only used for humourous reasons or as side characters. Peter Dinklage's portrayal of Tyrion Lannister has changed people's perspectives. Not to mention, dashing fictional dwarves of The Hobbit kind of helped too.

Hell Wynne talks to the PC about his/her background better than the LIs do.

My guess is a Cass romance might only turn out tragic if you're a big softy about some things. It'll be more punitive for those people than anyone who is likeminded with her. Or an even bigger hardass.

Hmm I might have missed that I just remember Alistair asking my human noble if they lost someone close to them then asking my dwarf noble how they bury their dead.

Needs to be better balanced especially if they do have something tragic happen to the PC our followers or LIs should really make sure we're okay afterwards.

I never got the combined jealous banter of those three I watched it online but it was the only jealous banter I kind of enjoyed. Never got much jealous banter in DAO though aside from when I got ninjamanced by Alistair but that only was affected during Leliana romances (since I guess Zevran's and Alistair's jelaous banter was bugged). Where Fenris keeps Hawke from going with Zevran? Something like that could work though Fenris was doing it more out of still having a thing for Hawke even though they've been apart for three years (though not as weird as Anders telling Hawke that he's laid awake for years aching for them)

I think it was a good spanish accent, I mean if it was fake, it could fool me. It has nothing to do though with you not liking it, of course  :P
