I see Cassandra as someone who might boss me around.

Which isn't a bad thing.

That I can agree with. Bossy, but not cold or full of anger.

Oh, she could boss me around any time. I agree though, it'd be interesting if for once, we aren't the ones that are 'in charge.'

Like I said she never turned my Warden down though again it is possible that my copy is bugged since I'm apparently the only person here that has not been ninjamanced by Leliana either so like I said my game could be buggy I've just never had her turn down my Warden before even after that conversation with her. I know Zevran refuses to sleep with you after a certain amount of approval so that's why I though you may have confused the two.

Zevran Can be talked out of that, actually. If I am remembering correctly, he has a crises moment like Morrigan's but you can talk him around, and the relationship goes on. Dunno, I only romanced him once. With same PC that tried romance Morrigan, I think.

The bossiness might have worked with me with Miranda too, but then there was Jack to screw it up. She turned out to be a much cooler character.

Didn't know you could do that since I didn't try (was told it could end the romance but that dosn't seem to be true) and I have only romanced Morrigan once myself so very possible I got a bug in her dialog or something like that.

Though I'm sure not all the romances for guys are going to be like Morrigan. Bioware is pretty good at giving some variety in the romances area. So even if Cassandra turns out to be an ice queen I highly doubt she'll be your only option.

As a Miranda fan I'll have to disagree with you regarding your 2nd point. Though I do like jack too if less.

2. She's written by David Gaider.   (Prepare to shed tears)

Does the Alistair and Zevran romances really make people shed tears?

There is only ONE Miranda, and you are not she.

Oh I understand.

The only thing I regret is ME3 didn't include either much. Damn shame.

I'm assuming that's what the Cult of Scribbles is basically about.  I guess I'd be more hopeful if we knew anything about her at all. And if she wasn't an NPC... but that's a different :(  (boo to NPC Romances).

<hugs>  Hopefully this will cheer you up.

Did you know that they spent as much of the romance word budget for NPC romances as they did for the companion ones?  Try to take heart; it isn't supposed to be like Mass Effect where the NPC just stays at home.  They are supposed to be temporary party members from time to time, and they will follow you to your various strongholds.   ;)

I was pretty skeptical too, but after learning that, I'm going forward with an open mind.  The only thing about being a Scribbler that drives me crazy is her lack of an actual name.

Yeah, same, but now a lot of people, including me are really excited for Scribbles, I think they sort of learned how to improve npc romances from ME3.

The other options may surprise you Cassandra could be a secret softy for all we know but yeah I get what you mean I'm iffy on the NPC romances myself though I have a little more confidence in them since this is the DA team and like Natashina pointed out the word budget for the NPCs is the same as your followers so that gives me a little hope. Hopefully most people find a LI they'll enjoy :)

I can't hear the word softy without thinking of Leliana.  Softeee.

I agree with you as well.   :)

<hug> Well, thank you.

I am trying to stay excited about the game, and I haven't given up all hope yet. I am skeptical about the notion that the Advisors go with you on some quests. Cullen was in the scene in that DLC commercial (yay for the Cullenites!!). But Cullen's a Templar and a Bada$$. We've seen no evidence that Scribbles is anything other than a really good accountant. I can't see how she is going to be involved in a questline as anything other than a Quest-Giver.

  1. @davidgaider So we know that Cassandra is a romantic, but which gender(s) will she show it to? :)

  2.

@bisteverogers We will announce more on LI stuff in the months to come, I'm sure.

To be fair, we haven't seen Scribbles in much of anything.  :P

You're welcome.  I was in the same boat as you were about 2 months ago when they announced NPC romances.  After ME and NWN, I was extremely skeptical.  However, the idea that they are really trying to give the NPC romances as much content as the companion romances really helped.  While it's true that it seems like it won't have the same impact as a companion romance (I do agree that BW's prescient with NPC romances isn't great,) we could be wrong.  I'll happily give BW the benefit of the doubt.  :)

Plenty of opportunity to handle things without killing them. (Maiming's what she prefers anyway. Psychologically.)

More seriously, what about the Orlesian Ball Sequence?

Well, our only point of reference for that is ME, which always worked differently from DA where romances are concerned.  They know what people think of non-companion romances, and I don't think they'd add them now unless they were going to give them as much content as companions.

Who's to say all quests and strongholds the advisers accompany you to will be combat-based dungeon crawls? This game has a rather political edge to it since the Inquisitor is trying to unite various nations and factions to deal with the ACTUAL danger of the open sky, and stop tearing each other apart in a massive world-wide civil war. Plus you're visiting various countries. (Doesn't this game span across Ferelden and Orlais at least?) You aren't just staying in one country like DA:O and DAII. Odds are you'll probably have a good amount of politic or talk-based quests, where "Scribbles" will probably be more helpful with the swing-happy but talk-stupid Cullen.

Ok, I have to be a little shallow for a second: I don't like much how Cullen looks now, and his looks were so far what I liked the most about him  :(

oh, well, whatever, I'm sure there's a lot of people very happy now, I feel like I was trying to spoil the party  :D

That's possible, I guess.  I wonder if such a sequence would be of any length. Even Mark of the Assassin, which was "intrigue" oriented mostly had you killing Wyverns and going through desperately irritating stealth sequences. The game is based on a game that is based on a game that is based on Dungeons and Dragons, on some level most of the gameplay is still focusing on killing monsters and taking their stuff.

Is there any confirmation of all the advisors getting quest appearances? Or are we going on the line about the Cullen quest and Leliana's appearance in the demo reel?

I just don't feel in that there is any way by their very nature they can feel on par with companion romances.
