There are also the People who like them. The silent Majority, I assume.

For every Complainer I see on the Forum there is a ton of Those who peacefully state that they like the options.

The people who talk out about it are the only ones who get noticed. I think the majority of people aren't as upset as the ones who voice their disdain.

Think the seeming lack of sweet, fun, pretty female(Leilana,Merill etc) after Sera announcement is partly at root of it. Also in comparison with male characters there are much fewer females. Think once some of males are taken off table as LI's there will be some disappointment on other side too. I'm still excited for Cass despite disappointment over Sera.

Ok, I have to be a little shallow for a second: I don't like much how Cullen looks now, and his looks were so far what I liked the most about him
oh, well, whatever, I'm sure there's a lot of people very happy now, I feel like I was trying to spoil the party
I totally get what you mean, honestly. I thought he'd be prettier, too. I guess the lyrium withdrawals hit him pretty hard, because he aged like a decade since DA2. lol
But I'll still romance him once if he's bi.

Yeah, after reading a lot of those threads, it seems like it's really only a minority of folks that are extremely unhappy. I've seen plenty of straight men go, "What's wrong with Vivienne or Cass? You need to get your eyes checked." I've seen more of those types of posts than ones that agree the romance options somehow suck.

Scribbles seems like she's a fun gal. Why do so many overlook her. ![]()

I think Cullen is more attractive...
I actually feel the opposite -- I was never attracted to him before, but am finding I suddenly am now. I do like older, more refined types of guys though

Maybe she will be(there's no info currently though) and that'll satisfy that demograhic.
Personally i have no interest in advisor romances so i'll be pursuing Cassandra no matter what now.

Where is this evidence that he somehow lost access to lyrium? Where's the evidence that he's no longer a templar? I didn't see any in his blurb and no, not all templars thought the High Seeker had the right idea. Some did remain loyal to the Divine, which means they would still have access to their lyrium supplies.
Nothing personal Mort, but unless you have any sort of real evidence to back it up, I think that you are very wrong.
As far as Cullen goes, I don't think he's really aged that drastically. If anything, he looks like someone in his late 30s-early 40s, not a 20-something pretty boy after all the crap he's been through. I think the reason why we didn't see him age during the 7 years (in-game) that we played as Hawke is due to the limitations of the engine. That and combined with a grand total of 12 months to develop DA2.

Once Scribbles gets some info on her out and we can see her personality (somewhat), I know attention towards her will skyrocket.
And hopefully less straight males will be worried about their LI choices.

I agree. I think he's aged only slightly, and very well, actually. ![]()
I'm not a huge Cullen fan personally, but I can't lie and say I don't find him pretty dang attractive.

I just don't feel in that there is any way by their very nature they can feel on par with companion romances.
I don't see why, though. Neither DAO nor DA2 had much romance content during quests. While you could potentially stop and have a private chat with your LI at any point during DAO, that always felt weird to me. LIs basically have the same walking dialogue with other characters as if you don't romance them. Generally, all the romance content was during private times at home/camp.
I know some people are in love with the idea of the battle couple who fight side-by-side, but I don't see anything wrong with having your LI waiting for you back at the Keep, either.
The main problem with the ME3 non-companion romances is that there were special bits of dialogue and scenes during missions that changed if your LI was there, and that wasn't accessible to the non-companions. If DA:I does something similar, and those specific quests where having your LI there matters are accessible to the advisors as well, then there really is no problem here.

I think he was making a joke.
I've seen a lot of folks that have been dead serious about that though. Sometimes, it's hard to tell.

WHAT. He's totally handsome, I don't understand? He looks like he's in his mid-late 30s, right where he should be.

Sure, I'm romancing anyway because I always give it a shot to every romance available to me, but
... don't know, he might have gained (to my taste) in personality and such what he has lost in hotness
... we'll see,
I think Cullen is more attractive...

I'm not against older men per se, but I can't help to think that Cullen didn't aged very well... or maybe I was just expecting something different... In the last dinner shot he looked almost like a model or something...
Anyway, I wasn't really very attached to him, so no big problem... And apparently their fans are really happy, so

To me the whole wider content including spending 80 hrs side by side experiencing the story, all the wider character content play a part in building onto to what is very limited romance specific content. Devs in past have even admitted that players have to buy into this due to optional nature of romance. If others like the idea of character waiting at home for them fine but to me characters forced onto sidelines will always be subpar.

This one actually looks better to me than the ones on his profile. I'm just not into the older/grizzled man look, so I like his old look better. It's totally subjective, though, and I understand if other people don't agree.

I'm going to come out and say it: I hope that both Cassandra and Vivienne are bi and Scribbles is straight. Cassandra because of the fanbase I don't want to have disappointed, and Vivienne because I'm sort of intrigued by her. I'm willing to take Vivienne being straight if it means Cassandra's lesbian fans get her, but having both would be quite nice.
