*reads comments about Cullen's new appearance and goes to the main DA site*

Wow Cullen is not looking so baby faced anymore I like it :) Looks different than his DAO and DA2 appearance but its a new engine so that's to be expected still like the new look though, maybe if his character arc is good I'll do a Cullen run sooner than I originally thought.

I have zero confidence that advisor romances will not be sub par.

Just for the record: the advisors have recorded just as much dialogue as companions.

Also Cullen's looks are very nice and the more mature outlook.

If we can avoid extra drama BS YAY.

I was just joking. I honestly had no idea this was a contentious issue.

Ah, all good.  :D

Yeah, I've run into that one several times.  Sorry if I took you too seriously.

Once Scribbles gets some info on her out and we can see her personality (somewhat), I know attention towards her will skyrocket. :) And hopefully less straight males will be worried about their LI choices.

Personally, I'm surprised how much attention she has already gotten. Her thread has several dozen pages before we even know her name or anything about her.

Why does Cullen look like a douche in these photos?

He's smug because he's just an adviser yet his thread is generating 30% of the content on the BSN.

Yup. Greg Ellis has done 5 sessions of 4 hours each. Which is the same amount a companion VA does.

wait...that's how much the other companions have done or are you basing that off previous BW games? Isn't Inquisition bigger?

Bioware has also stated that the advisers got the same writing budget as the companions a few days ago.

I have forgotten the exact number of lines they record within those 4 hour sessions, but it was alot.

Not sure if this was based off older games.

I didn't say it was little. I just assumed Inquisition had more with the whole bigger than Origins thing :P

Homie speaks one line in the series and got the "fanbase" more wet than Drake's tears.

Yeah, after reading a lot of those threads, it seems like it's really only a minority of folks that are extremely unhappy.  I've seen plenty of straight men go, "What's wrong with Vivienne or Cass?  You need to get your eyes checked."  I've seen more of those types of posts than ones that agree the romance options somehow suck.

Scribbles seems like she's a fun gal.  Why do so many overlook her.   :(

This. You know how the bsn work. :P  By the way, Those who are indifferent or satisfied don't feel the need to create a topic to tell how much they are satisfied. This is just useless and this is why we only see negative topics. Most people are fine and they don't need to create a topic and scream they are fine. It will be the same out there.

It will be like that : During the release, the first weeks, The vocal minority complaining, often with racist and homopobe comments on internet, and after that, a few months later, you 'll see more often those fans squeeing for their favorite Li, and many articles and many people praising Bioware for its inclusiveness toward minorities in the video game industry.

This is how I  see the future.  ;)

Oh, I was genuinely curious about the number of hours of dialogue er companion in previous game, I thought we could made a comparison if that was known

Baseless opinion, though: I don't expect more dialogue per companion, there's already a lot of companions + advisor + more LIs... I

I like Cullen's new look. I always thought he was ugly or at least very average in previous games and then all of a sudden we get these new screenshots.... a wild Cullen appears! Cullen used HANDSOME! Unless he is just one of those guys that looks better as he ages.

Anyways if he is bi, I will make a cute male quizzy for him :D  If he's straight, well it's not really a loss. I'll keep him around to make the base look a bit better like a decoration ;)

I don't see why, though.  Neither DAO nor DA2 had much romance content during quests.  While you could potentially stop and have a private chat with your LI at any point during DAO, that always felt weird to me.  LIs basically have the same walking dialogue with other characters as if you don't romance them.  Generally, all the romance content was during private times at home/camp.

I know some people are in love with the idea of the battle couple who fight side-by-side, but I don't see anything wrong with having your LI waiting for you back at the Keep, either.

The main problem with the ME3 non-companion romances is that there were special bits of dialogue and scenes during missions that changed if your LI was there, and that wasn't accessible to the non-companions.  If DA:I does something similar, and those specific quests where having your LI there matters are accessible to the advisors as well, then there really is no problem here.

We've already seen that the LI won't just be waiting for people. Leliana goes on a quest in the E3 trailer and is right there with the Inquisitor. Plus, seeing Cullen in that Lion get-up, we can now assume he is out in the field with Morrigan in another trailer. I think they are going to be much more integral, and won't just be waiting in stasis back at Skyhold for the Inquisitor. It still won't be the same for people who want that power couple dynamic, but I think the adviser characters are going to be much more actively engaged in the events of the game then Sam and Steve were.

Yea....after these Cullen screenshots.....unless Solas turns out to be a LI with just an amazing personality/storyline.....I'm romancing Cullen.

And even then, it would be impossible to not hit on Cullen until things became serious.

Well... kinda true.  But older and perhaps a bit more wise/mature? I flippin' adored Alistair, but if one thing ever bothered me about him it was his naivety. Can't fully blame him with his upbringing, but yeah.  :P
