Mmm-mm, dat Cullen. Even if he is an advisermance, I'd be happy if he were a bi option for everyone to enjoy that advising.
I think 6 is a good conservative assumption. 8-10 with some moderate race-gating (and/or gender-gating) isn't out of the realm of possibility, imo.
I kind of wonder if all the bi options are gated, or if there will be any "all takers" options.
I'd like to say 8, but I do honestly believe 6 is what we're going to see.
I guess what I come back to is that it doesn't really seem understandable, to me, to add in race gating to save resources on 6 LIs if they already added in gender gating, which cuts half of everyone off from all but probably two LIs.
I think the least amount is 7 (three companion lady lis, three companion dude lis, and cullen as an extra option for girls)

She's a confirmed LI, and there is very unlikely to be another lesbian, so why not? Seriously, I couldn't picture two lesbian LIs as nice as that would be for some. Sera's announcement sealed the deal for me that Cass is going to be at least straight if not bi.
It can be difficult for some to think that Vivienne might be an Li to be honest. Unlike Scribe girl we have absolutely no clue she could be an Li ( several npc romances being mentioned on twitter, we have already Cullen for girls ), and many even think that she has too high standard to be in love with the inquisitor. Cassandra is already confirmed. If there weren't that sentence about more romance and race gating, I wouldn't even count Vivienne as possible LI.
I 100% believe that Vivienne is an LI. She may be high standard but she'll be an LI. Probably bi and I think Scribbles will be another LI and be bi as well.

Well... kinda true. But older and perhaps a bit more wise/mature? I flippin' adored Alistair, but if one thing ever bothered me about him it was his naivety. Can't fully blame him with his upbringing, but yeah.
I don't think they have much in common aside from a Templar background.
Cullen may be a bit wiser but he may still have mage issues, though not to the extent of Fenris.

I'd do a happy dance, as long as she wasn't race-gated against qunari. I'm hoping to pair her up with my female qunari mage Inquisitor.
That said, I'd prefer if she was bisexual and think that's a lot more likely. Unless lesbians in Dragon Age games are like buses. (You wait forever, then two come along at once ...)
So I have read most of the Romance discussion boards and after finding out that there are some gender/race restrictions, I must know one thing. One thing that I've been trying to find out in both this thread and the other Romance discussion thread and I will go crazy if I don't ask.
Will I be able to romance The Iron Bull As a Male Human or Elf? I know this sounds dumb, but I MUST KNOW THIS because I'm afraid I might only be able to romance him as another Qunari and I really don't find that as appealing as a Human/Elf pairing! I don't care if I have to play a female to romance him either, as long as I am a Human or Elf as I do!

I know this sounds dumb, but I MUST KNOW THIS because I'm afraid I might only be able to romance him as another Qunari and I really don't find that as appealing as a Human/Elf pairing! We don't know. We don't even know if he is a romance. Speaking as someone hanging out to romance him as a dwarf, I feel your pain.
The good news is that it sounds like he may well be bisexual! His character interview says he'll jump into bed with "anyone he's reasonably sure he won't break" which raises the possibility of race-gating but makes it sound like gender isn't an issue.
I'll be honest, I'm only really going to react to the male LIs, but I hope that everyone gets equal options.

Join the hope-train with me. I'm hoping he's an LI at all, at this point, even without thinking about his orientation or race-gating.
I think it's a high possibility, given the info we have on him, plus a tweet that was spread around saying he was "worth at least one romance play through".
But ya never know, they could be just messing with us. Which is eeeeevil xP
Wishful thinking: Varric (at least for dwarves, which has NOTHING to do with the fact that my first playthrough will be a dwarf lady), Iron Bull, and Blackwall.
I like big guys. And beards. And fuzz in general. I'm hoping for at least one to be on the list. Cullen looks more interesting all roughed up, though.
Anyway, whichever one turns out to be on the list, I'll immediately want the ones I can't have more. I'm pretty sure that's science.

Entirely possible! (Although, as with Cassandra and Sera, I think Dorian being gay makes it less likely.)
