Imagine Iron Bull having romance dialogue. It's kind of hard to think of him being all sugary-sweet romantic. Or maybe he spouts off deep love poetry once you've made him realize his undying devotion for you that changes all his former beliefs and ways of his life. ![]()

Then he says, "The Qun teaches that women are weaker than men, but doesn't talk about other races at all. I'm fine sleeping with elves, humans, and dwarves, but only dude. Womenfolk are too fragile."
They're probably really going to need something to bite down on.

That's just cheesy enough to work, although I'm not quite sure how solid his beliefs and them tying into his ways of life were in the first place, lol.

In a live stream someone asked who you would bring to the Orelesian Ball and the streamer said it would be hilarious if you brought Iron Bull and danced with him. Then proceeded to make hilarious references to Beauty and the Beast.
The streamer singing the song from that movie got it stuck in my head for the rest of the day. xd

That would be so adorable though! I'm going to be so sad now when I can't dance with Bull at an Orleasian Ball. ![]()

I'd personally love to see a romance option (hopefully Iron Bull) where the relationship is something like what my mother has with her boyfriend, lots of teasing and joking taking jabs at eachother and lots of laughter. I know it's odd to use my mother as an example but she does have the kind of relationship I would like to see especially since I'd like to have and LI option that can take my 'mean' sense of humor and can give it right back to me, like bonding over fake insults. Not like a hatemance just good natured joking insults. I'm probably not explaining myself well am I? Sorry^^;

Nope, totally understand and agree with you. I'm hoping for that with Sera, and if IB is a possibility, for him too.
Romancing serious people can be fun, but I haven't had one with a lot of jokes n' giggles since Alistair.

Yeah I kind of get that vibe from Sera though I would like to see it for a male LI too cause I'm kind of greedy like that^^;
I always I had to put on the kid gloves with Alistair since he'd get mad with you sometimes if you were kidding though that could be because I'm used to taking jabs at loved ones a lot its pretty much how we say 'we care' in my house^^; Also aside from that eating comment I never felt Alistair returned any of the jabs which is half the fun of them ![]()

Don't care how or when but I swear I will use that on a Valentine, it's too wonderful to pass up.

She's a confirmed LI, and there is very unlikely to be another lesbian, so why not? Seriously, I couldn't picture two lesbian LIs as nice as that would be for some. Sera's announcement sealed the deal for me that Cass is going to be at least straight if not bi.
Right. I understand that logic. I share it. I was just optimistic we had official confirmation.

I prefer the alternative ending:
Gashes are red
Bruishes are blue
If we have sex
That'll happen to you.

Either one sounds like his character from what we've been told so far. If a romance is confirmed then we need to get that poem and hash tag trending. It would be amazing and hilarious at the same time.

Funny as it is, I actually wouldn't be too surprised to see subversion thrown in here and there with Iron Bull (in and out of romance). It's like Sten. Big, dour, ultra-serious Sten. He loved art (paintings as his gifts), and he was enamored with cookies, and he took a very close shine to Dog. Leliana also catches him once picking flowers and another time playing with a kitten.
Iron Bull being a surprising, serious and even tender romantic underneath to boisterous crunchy shell? Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Nah, I know exactly what you mean. And I agree. I like writing romantic stories and those are the types of relationships I like writing about most. If the characters aren't smiling, laughing, goofing off, playfully teasing each other or exchanging fake insults (not real insults, I grew up on those since my mom bounced from one abusive relationship to another), I start to get bored and look for a reason to include it.
Gaider once said he felt happy relationships are boring. Well, he's doing it wrong. Let their personalities and wit come out and bounce off each other and you'll have writing fodder for hours.
P.S. I think it's sweet that your mom has such a good relationship, and I think you're lucky to have such a positive relationship model in your life. =)

I admit I've rarely written happy relationships (though is has been a while since I last wrote) people that help me write suck me back into tragic romances but stable fun ones are nice as well though I've only got maybe two couples I've written in happyish relationships. While they can be fun to write they are not fun to go through the tragic ones I mean.
Agreed it can be done and done well one of my favorite book series the main relationship is happy and supportive and I don't get tired of reading about them and I love it when they interact with one another, guess you need a specific mindset for it, I'm not sure.
Thank you my mom really deserves it the last relationship she was in brought out the worst in them both so I'm happy she's with her current boyfriend they're very happy together and whenever I visit they always joke with eachother and make up quickly after fights it's pretty adorable to me and I'd be lying if I said it didn't set a bar for me in what I'd like a relationship for myself to be like ![]()

There are ways to have tension in a relationship - or surrounding a relationship - without making it tragic or affecting the fundamental dynamic between characters.
Edit: For example, characters could have different goals in life that pull them in different directions. There could be a difference in race, or culture. None of these things have to lead to a sad ending for the characters.

I 100% believe that Vivienne is an LI. She may be high standard but she'll be an LI. Probably bi and I think Scribbles will be another LI and be bi as well.
I think Vivi could become an LI as well. But I'm not 100% sure, so I still expect to be disappointed. ![]()
But for scribe girl, I'm 100% sure she's an LI.

Unfortunately, happy relationships (in media settings) are boring. It is rare that you see a completely happy relationship throughout an entire movie/book/series. Usually it starts out happy then turns bad (possibly working out in the end), or starts out bad and works it way to happy. If drama did not lead to an interesting romances we were actually see more of them, not less.

Okay, I laughed. Probably a bit more than I should have. I'm not sure if it's because I thought this bit of misogyny was funny, or because I was imagining it in a straight faced dead-pan tone.

Gaider doesn't sound like a happy man, does he? You can have dramatics without the relationship being dysfunctionel. And considering ecerything else going on, that stability might be nice to have.
In regards to romances I'd like to know before hand though. But i base my character on who i want to romance. I play the game over and over to find them the perfect partner. Like Alistair, always a human noble that doesn't harden him and makes him king. Human Amell that hardens him and makes him King.
Fenris: Female, sarcastic mage Hawke, who is carefree and manages to friendmance him, even though she supports her fellow mages.
Anders: Female rogue Hawke, who is diplomatic and very kind. Friendmance.
I have tried many combinations, but I like these.
But i would like to start planning.
First I hoped for a sassy female rogue with Dorian - fail.
Then a sweet elven mage for Cole - apparently also a fail.
I always wanted a sassy female dwarven warrior for Varric, but I don't want to keep my hopes up. Was even going to name her Bianca.
The only one who have become even close to being confirmed as a romance option is Cullen and at this point I trust nothing. Letting us know the options, shouldn't spoil anything for anyone. The romances always have a twist to them anyway.
